Im an Indian food snob and this place really deserves 4.5 stars. I’ve only had one meal here and it was fantastic — the chicken dhansak. The naan was lacking in ghee but it was actually a really great change. It was perfectly cooked, crispy outside and not even remotely soggy. It was huge too; one is definitely enough for one person. I also got some papadums and they were the best I’ve ever had. I can’t wait to try more of what they have on offer. Oh, the service was great and the décor looks fantastic too. If they had beer on the menu I’d be here every night.

I love my Indian takeaway but it has to be quality. After moving to Ashgrove 4years ago, I have been a regular of Sitar Express ever since. The food is quality and always reliable. I can’t wait for them to put in restaurant seating and I will be even more regular. Best pakoras and butter chicken.
