I’ve written a review on this place before where the service was good and I rated four stars. This has changed in the last few times I’ve gone. The staff have changed along with the maitre de and unfortunately the place has suffered for it. We’ll try again in a few months, but after wine spillages, disappointing food and service, we feel like we’ve been burnt.

Wanted to try this place for a while and was disappointed after finally trying it. First staff member to seat us was lovely. We ordered a chicken burger and a steak sandwich. When my husband picked up 1 half of his steak burger we found a hair underneath… He doesn’t like to complain so just said dont worry… Then took a bite and hello 2nd hair. Hair happens, it’s not the worse thing in the world but not the best either. At this point we sent it back recieved an apology and a new burger was brought out and the waiter claims the chef advised«it was a fibre from the beet root» and I explained it was actually the second long hair we found and it was not a fibre! No further apologies no customer service to offer anything in exchange for a ruined meal. The difference between customer service(sorry however it was a beer root fibre) and great customer service(I am extremely sorry of course let me see what we can do to accommodate you a little better — a bottle of wine? The hair meal free? Some dessert? Some bread? Maybe just a free drink?) Guess that kind of thing doesn’t exist anymore and… We in exchange will not return.

My husband and I have dined here many times for breakfast, lunch and dinner. It is always good and the service friendly and professional.

We dined here on a saturday night in november as a group of four. The restaurant was full, noisy & quite stuffy on a warm evening. I found it very had to hear my fellow diners & we were all of the same opinion that something really does need doing to dampen the sound. Efficient fans & airconditioning would also be a big improvement to diner comfort. The food was of good quality, but nothing outstanding. I had the Seared scallops on brasied pressed rangers valley Wagu beef rib & smoked potato purée for entrée — a tasy if unusual combination of flavours. For main course I had the Oven roasted Blue eye on tomato & herb quinoa forest mushroom veloute — the Blue eye being slighty overcooked for my liking. The servings were very generous & none of us had dessert but shared the cheese board to accompany our coffee. Service was excellent, particularly as they were so busy. I would like to return on a cooler & less crowded evening.

At night when the lights are on and you can clearly see the people inside dining, it looks quite good. But I have actually been one of the people inside and in reality it’s quite boring and the service is just okay. I am sure they think they are doing a good job but they are doing passable job. Prices are quite reasonable but most of the meals are talked up on the menu and a disappointment when they arrive. Don’t get me wrong, the food is tasty it just doesn’t have the wow factor that you expect. This spot has never quite taken off as a restaurant even though it’s away from the shops. It used to be an old chemist and some of the original features are still there. It used to be Three Clicks West then Da Gianni before its last reincarnation. They do have a private dining which is good if you are planning a party or have a corporate function in mind. They also do wine dinners and breakfast on the weekend.
