It’s little things like this that add that warm feeling to my day as i go about my business. Just little heart things that make me feel good and give me hope for humanity. The tiny door is like a ray of sunshine after rain and eternal optimism combined.

The legend says there was once a series of 7 tiny doors hidden around Adelaide. One used to be at the end of Vardon Place at the old entrance to the East End Markets. This one disappeared around 2009 with no explanation. Another was situated on the canopy where Rundle Mall intersects with Gawler Place, but was removed or destroyed when the canopy was replaced. The other doors whereabouts are currently unknown. This little door, made for an unknown purpose and placed here by an unknown person, seems to be the sole survivor of what would have made an epic scavenger hunt. I am a lover of all the little ‘hidden’ secrets around my city, and this is one that never fails to make me smile every time I walk past it.

I’m as baffled as anyone, but it certainly is a mysterious, tiny door. And strangely, the shop above, or behind, is called Naked but sells clothes. Perhaps there is a clue there somewhere. Perhaps not.

Few things make me as giddy as TTD when taking a walk.

I was introduced to this place by Karen M and now I’m on the hunt for more! It always poses so many questions as I dawdle down Rundle St. Who produced such a tiny door? Where does it go? Who is allowed through and what is the secret password? You get my drift… Like the Rosina Car Park, Frome St wall mural and giant fork on Melbourne St, it is just one of the many weird things I love about Adelaide.

I love this place :) Well, it is more of a place of interest. As far as I am aware this is one of a series of fairy doors. Or something like that. This one is in the front of a shop called Naked in Rundle St. it is only about 7 inches high, but it brings a little bit of magic to the street :) There is not really any more to say about this. But i would love to know if there are any more of these around town anywhere — if there is anyone who knows about any more of these doors, I would love to know about them :) And for those of you who have never seen this door — check it out next time you are in Rundle St :)
