Waited 35 minutes and then asked if we wanted a drink. Waited another 15 mins to get the drink. Food was average at best and when asked if comes with veg, she said yes, however it was a spoon full of mashed something and looked like baby food. Meat was fine and the sauce nice. The got the kitchen hand to deliver some meals, wine was spilt and no apologies another glass offered To add insult to injury, they had the gall to ask if we wanted to leave a tip! WTF?

The price-to-value is tooooooo low. All the dishes are extremely salty. I will not go there again.

This is the perfect place for French Food! We had a lovely three course menu, all food was freshly prepared but the Chef — so please allow some time. But waiting was worth it: All fresh, at the point, delicious and perfect to us! We had a Crêpe and Goat Cheese Salad as starters, then Lamp and Veal as main, followed by Dame blanc and coffee — no point for complains! Service was very attentive and friendly!

This place is ok but not too bad. Mind you, it doesn’t deserve the bile that’s been heaped on it in other reviews. My lamb and sides were fine. The cheese platter was fine. The coffee was nice. The wine we had was good too. I quite enjoyed the night even if it was a tad expensive.

We had an incredibly disappointing dinner at The Corner Bistrot last night. The service was terrible, we witnessed two other tables walk out after being ignored. Several dishes weren’t available, even after being ordered. Dishes and beverages were also forgotten once ordered and never arrived, no apology was offered. A small bone was also found in the salmon entrée. Will not be returning!

Will never go back here again. After waiting for an hour we still had no food. Staff was rude and actually tried to defend themselves by claiming to be a «bistro» not a restaurant. Figure that out if you can Food was mediocre at best.

For authentic French food, Corner Bistrot is the spot! Tiny, intimate, and relaxed, it’s a wonderful place for a romantic dinner. The food is classic French — crepes, duck, seafood… all delicious.(Side note: the presentation is pretty basic, but they clearly put all of their attention into the cooking, which is where it counts.) The waiting staff are attentive and friendly, and the wine list is superb. The only down side is the toilet, which is outside and across the alley, but it’s a minor inconvenience. C’est merveilleux!

Popular for those French dreamers, this is quite simple a delight to dine at. The wine list is extensive and has some interesting selections. All the delicacies that you hear about, the simplistic and classic food is competently cooked. Red wine sauce is rich and goes well with the beautifully cooked skirt steak. The mezzanine area is cosy and can be closed off for private functions. Service was very professional with a touch of good humour. They genuinely seemed to love interacting with the diners.

This homely little French restaurant is all about the food — which is très excellent. The bistro oozes with quaintness from the laneway, with its romantic-looking sign on its cream façade. It’s reminiscent of the first bistros frequented by Paris artists in the early 20th century. ATMOSPHEREANDLAYOUT We were led up a staircase to the wooden balcony overlooking downstairs diners. Maps and travel posters on the walls help get diners in the mood for French fun and the atmosphere is great, there’s a happy buzz but it’s not too loud. MENU There are some great traditional dishes here. If you’re daring you can try that French favourite of escargots(snails). The food is well balanced and generally served in large portions. DIETARYREQUIREMENTS There’s not much in the way of vegan or vegetarian food, but the chefs are accommodating and cooked a lovely large crêpe, seasoned with dill and coriander and stuffed with zucchini, eggplant, leek spring onion and parsley. DRINKSLIST The drinks list has an impressive sample of Australian and French wine and beer, including the 750ml keeping ale Tros Monts, brewed in the Flanders region of north-west France. SERVICE The waiting staff — some of whom are French — are friendly, knowledgeable and efficient. My only gripe is I had to go outside the restaurant to get to the toilet, not much fun on a cold Saturday night.
