Taking this earlier 4 star review and pumping it to Five Stars — once again because of the stellar service by one Mr. Ryan February at this store. Simply perfect customer service. HIGHLY recommended. Telstra’s cable internet service is ‘meh’ — so-so — and I cannot recommend that, but I can recommend Telstra otherwise and am therefore taking this to a Five Star! Original post follows: Yep, I’m a fan, and I am fan specifically of Ryan February who works in this store Monday to Friday. Absolutely terrific service, including follow up on things like billing issues. We have gone to see Ryan about problems with our mobiles and he always took time with us, even when the problem was clearly a «user error.» I am now engaged in Internet service provider research and the default choice is always Telstra and Ryan. I will let you know how that goes, but for mobile service, the Grenfell at Gawler Telstra Store is the place to go.

I’ll come out and admit… the idea of physically shopping around at retail venues for any kind of phone or IT product really doesn’t float my hardware(if you know what I’m saying). So if I find a place that gives great advice and the service is friendly and efficient I will pay a bit extra just to get the process over and done with. After looking online for the best price for a mobile wireless internet connection(yes I am Gen Y) I was a tad confused by all the options I had available to me — but kind of knew I wanted to buy with Telstra because at the time it was best value for money. Enter Telstra Store on Grenfell St… Enter Chloe, willing to buy customer looking for a bit more information and advice with knowledge of the«interweb connection thing I needed,» at about 50% of what I needed to know. 10 minutes later — Enter salesperson from Telstra Chloe — «I’m looking for something that will connect all my devices to the internet when I’m mobile. I’m also considering buying an iPad but need a bit more convincing.”* *HINT: That provides you with an option to do a thing called up-selling* Instead salesperson responds in a not too convincing manner about the only option available to me… «But what about these other 5 similar options?» I ask, having seen it on the Telstra site that day… Salesperson — «Yeah they would probably work to…»(not exact words but general gist was that some other options were available but the best option would be the most expensive one) Chloe — *Insert prompting, confused look, sigh* and«thanks muchly, I’ll have a think about it… Outcome? I went back to my Gen Y purchasing habits and visited another 2 stores before returning to the Telstra store online and ordering what I wanted.
