Meet the Business Owner

Tony B.

Business Owner

Tony emigrated from New Zealand in 1996 straight into Tropical North Queensland, worked for 5 years at the Sheraton Mirage resort where he spent the last year running the fine dining restaurant Macrossan’s.

From there he travelled to Melbourne and worked at the Windsor hotel for a year, then back to Port Douglas where he took over the running of Multi award winning restaurant Salsa Bar and Grill; where he met Aaron and Sharvaun Martin.

He then travelled south to Launceston and opened Tasmania’s first 5 star hotel– The Cornwall Boutique Hotel (now trading as The Sebel Launceston).

After numerous phone calls to and fro with Aaron and Sharvaun regarding buying their own business, Tony Aaron and Sharvaun decided to purchase Rigoni’s Bistro and have been there since 2006.

Tony specialises in the sourcing of local produce; and his food and menus reflect the best quality product that is on offer at any particular time of year. He spends a lot of time on research and development of Rigoni’s,
