If you are a musician looking to play a great gig in Melbourne at an intimate yet awesome venue, look no further than Mr Boogie Man!
My band Evol Walks played here recently and were blown away by the professionalism of the management, the incredible way we were looked after and (most importantly) the sound engineer!

Literally stumbled upon Mr Boogie Man when walking past recently and popped our heads in out of sheer curiosity. This feels like the lovechild of Spleen bar in the city and Some Velvet Morning in Clifton Hill: dingy, dark with a small band space, with added Rolling Stones memorabilia adorning all of the walls.
There were some good happy hour specials on a few bottled beers (no taps here) and house wine (which had a Boogie Man label, so wonder what the story is there). The friendly bar guy/​owner David introduced himself and chatted to us about the place while a mate of his with a cool gruff voice sang some tunes to the minimal audience (which didn’t deter him one bit, respect). Feels like a passion project for them here, so hope it’s one that’s working.
