Reindeer Auto Relocation

I also had no choice as it was part of my corporate relocation, but the driver picked up my car in time and delivered it to exactly where I wanted 5 days early. The driver also called me for pick up and an hour before drop off. Headquarters or the auto shipping coordinator sent me emails on the potential earlier delivery, so I expected and was ready.
One annoying part was I had a full tank of gas and had to ask my brother to use it as much as possible to get it to half tank. Wish they had other means, otherwise I could have had it delivered sooner when I didn’t get so busy at work. Not a complaint to this auto transport but to all auto transport in general…
As for the condition of the car, it looked fine and I didn’t notice any issues and drove it off to parking without a problem. The driver was fast in unloading the car and had me sign a paper and it was delivered. My first car delivery experience and a good one!

This is the first online review that I’ve ever had to write. I just moved from Maryland to California with Reindeer Auto, and the experience was very good until my vehicles were delivered (which is why 2 stars instead of 1). Upon delivery both of the vehicles were filthy. Covered in dust and dirt so you could not inspect them for scratches or damage. We prepared our vehicles for delivery and they were clean at the time as recommended by the contract.
The biggest problem was that the antenna to my car was loose and bent at the base. Reindeer Auto has admitted that it happened during transit, while they were in control of the vehicle. However they claim no responsibility. NONE! I jumped through all their hoops– provided pictures, auto mechanic quote, explanation, claim form. And they immediately rejected it and forwarded me the original contract with the legalese highlighted that states they are not responsible for antennas. If they are not responsible, then who is? Apparently I am responsible for the damage they caused.
If you have a chance to use another auto carrier, you should definitely do so. Reindeer’s service will draw you in, but if anything happens you can bet that it won’t be their responsibility.

I found Reindeer to be extremely unprofessional with regards to how they handle damage reimbursement and the timeliness of their tow vendors. In particular, they first refuse reimbursement, then they try to negotiate several rounds of a settlement — and they did this with both of our vehicles. I feel that the only reason I was successful in getting coverage for my damage was due to the leverage of being part of a large national company for a corporate relocation. I feel bad for anyone who doesn’t have that kind of leverage. If I had to move again with my firm, I will absolutely refuse services if it is outsourced to Reindeer. I don’t want that to be a reflection of everyone at Reindeer however. Samantha, who was my initial point of contact was very helpful. It is more of a reflection on their outsourced tow vendors and damage settlement process — even when everything is reported according to their protocols on the delivery forms. They even tried to say that «the driver was not responsible for inspecting certain portion of the outside of my vehicle where the damage is reported» — I find that hard to comprehend.
Tow pick up was several hours delayed when their facility was only 20 minutes from my house. Delivery was equally frustrating as they provide inconsistent information compared to the local delivery driver regarding delivery times.

I had no choice but to use this company as it was provided by my relocation package. I was pretty horrified seeing the reviews. However, in my experience, everything went smoothly. The only real glitch was the driver failing to call before the car pick up. The car delivery was on time and well communicated by both emails and phone calls. I didn’t notice any damage on the vehicle. The pick up driver had a good eye and was able to point out and record any damage already on the car.

Horrible, horrible, horrible! The bumper was torn off of the back of my car while in the care of reindeer. I was called 20 minutes prior to it being delivered and told that it was damaged. I informed them to get it fixed, but they tried to deliver it to me anyway and the driver didn’t seem to know that he was supposed to be taking it to get fixed. It’s been over two weeks since I last saw my car and it will be at least two more before I see it. $ 15,000 of damage caused by reindeer. Look elsewhere!!!

I rarely write any negative review. However, frankly speaking, this company deserves no star, and all a customer can get is deep regret.
First of all, the car was delivered very late and not at the home address. The driver said the delivery could be done by 9pm, but it was finally delivered at around 10:30pm in another place, at a dark night. The delivered car was very dirty, which made me really hard to spot any damage at night.
I found and report the damage next day. The intial attitude was good, and I was asked to take my car to a body shop to estimate the costs. After a few days, they simply denied everything.
Here is their trick that everyone should be aware of.
The major damage was a deep line scratch, which had a length of around 15 cm. In the original inspection report, some point scratches (the radiuses were all shorter than 1cm) were marked together, in a form of wavy line. They told me the deep line scratch was already marked in the wavy line. How could a long line scratch be described as a point scratch in conjunction with the others? The deep line scratch was obviously different from the other scratch in the same area, but their anwser was that the shape of mark does not matter — even a tiny point can represent a long scratch line…
To further argue with them, I showed another minor scratch which was obviously not marked in the report. The anwser of the first person was «I don’t know», simply denying the liability of that scratch. Then I talked to the manager. Their ridiculous reason was that, since this scratch was created at the same time as the deep line major scratch, which was «already marked», the minor scratch should also be counted as «marked».
Anyway, they shamelessly denied everything. If you insist on a vehicle shippment of this company, please do not expect any repair from their end.

Update: The «care» team at this company has gone on the offensive trying to attack my credibility publicly on multiple sites. Be very wary of this company. I rarely write negative or lengthy reviews of businesses. I didn’t «offer to write a positive review» — I explained that I would be sharing an honest, transparent account of my experience that described the situation (e.g. damage) along with how they handled it and the final outcome either way. I hope it helps others make an informed decision when searching for a relocation vendor. Note that their «simple» document is in fact a many-​page legal document, and the implications really are unclear. But really — in 2015 be wary of a service business that fights and attempts to discredit multiple customers publicly on a 24-​hour technicality rather than simply repairing damage caused while transporting a vehicle. Does ANY business that ships you something have a 24-​hour return policy on damaged items? C’mon!
Original review: I had my Audi A3 shipped using Reindeer Auto Relocation as part of a corporate relocation from WA to CA. When some exterior body damage occurred while my vehicle was in transit under the care of one of their subcontractors, the people I spoke with at Reindeer were friendly but refused to cover the repair cost. The car was delivered in filthy condition with dents and major areas of paint scratched off under a coat of dirt. I was on my honeymoon and a family member signed for delivery (following Reindeer’s instructions when the car is covered in dirt and it isn’t possible to check for damage) but because it took more than 24 hours for us to fly home, inspect, and file a claim, Reindeer refused to repair the damage. It looks like the damage is from some sort of metal moving/​trucking equipment (see uploaded photo), it’s in an area where damage was not noted on the pickup inspection form, and after I called Reindeer still-​jetlagged the day I returned from my honeymoon they say that legally they only need to accept claims within 24 hours (a term that was buried in legal paperwork but not shared with me when I called before shipping and asked about a family member accepting delivery!). After this experience I searched the web for Reindeer Auto Relocation and found negative reviews and other similar stories about how damage was handled — had I known then what I know now I would not have entrusted them with my vehicle.

My experience with Reindeer was quite different from some of the other reviews I read. They gave me a quote and explained the process and then everything went exactly as they explained. We were moving from Arkansas to Hawaii. It was picked up on time and Julie kept us in the loop the whole time with the progress. We knew exactly when it got to the port, when it sailed on the ship and the estimate of when I would receive my jeep was right on. My car was a little dirty, but no big deal.
I would definitely use them again.

I would give this company a 0 if I could. They messed up and scratched my car and are claiming that they are not responsible. I specifically spoke to them and follpwed their preceived claim guidance.
I would never use this company ever.

Frankly, this company deserves no star. 1 star Eek! Methinks not is actually more than troubles worth.
I had my auto moved by this company. On the day they pick up the vehicle, I had my van car wash cleaned to show room condition. (I have the pictures and will post later.) The person pick up my van used a flat bed auto transport to carry my van to move it. However, experience does downhill after that.
On the day of delivery, the van is delivered to, not my address provided, rather a place I can’t find it with GPS. When calling the driver to help with the location, driver … yell … at me over the phone with … harsh … tone. Did that yelling help? Nope. Driver has a thick Korean accent that even a native English speaker liked me can’t understand. I circle for almost an hour and eventually found my van is tuck in Target’s truck delivery parking area. What? Me, arrive in a sedan going to the restricted area to accept my delivery. Wait, didn’t they have a way to get flat bed auto transport to setup a proper delivery? Why didn’t they do a proper delivery?
Once I’ve found my van. Not only was it excessively dirty. Battery was dead. Immediately, I called the rep and got instructed to sign with «too dirty to inspect». I followed the instruction and parked my van to a safe place. Then, the van won’t start. It was 20 degrees and the wind was howling. I had to have road side assistance to get me and van home and fix my dead battery issue. It was around 9 pm EST when I’ve got my van working.
I reach out to the Reindeer Auto Relocation (RAR) next day early morning. I’ve got in touch with the QC rep, e v e n t u a l l y. That’s when the nightmare continues from them. The QC was rude as well. That staff told me this, «the contract you’ve signed says you have 24 hours to inspect the vehicle. It has already pass the inspection period.» Wait, their staff told me to accept without inspection and this QC tells me I don’t have the ability to inspect since it is after 24 hours? Why didn’t they advise me to tell the driver to clean the van so I can inspect it there and then? Instead, why the staff trick me to take home my damaged van? Why QC responded after 24 hours?
So, after more failed attempts to get their act together, it’s been weeks now and the outstanding issues are still not resolve.
Sorry, I didn’t have the time to detail all this first hand experience before. The name of this company brings me goose bump and writing this up only … hurts … me emotionally and I can’t go to sleep. I am so abused by the staffs from this company and feeling so helpless.
In short, this is a bad auto relo. I would avoid it liked plague.

They picked up our car from Bucks county PA — no issues supposed to deliver on ⁸⁄₂₂ the latest in FL.
ETA starts off as 8/​20, on ⁸⁄₂₀ the daily status notifications stop so we contact them for a status and later that day get a call back that our car is somewhere between NJ and FL but we should definitely have it by ⁸⁄₂₂.
Today ⁸⁄₂₂ we call up to find out the car is in MD and we will have it ⁸⁄₂₃ or ⁸⁄₂₄ the latest. It wouldn’t be so bad if we were actually in town ⁸⁄₂₄. We need the car in FL because we are leaving the kids with relatives that will be driving and picking them up from school. We want to be around to sign for the car and make sure it is OK.
They are supposed to get us a rental for the week — so lets see how that goes. Will update this review upon resolution
