History

Established in 1965.

Arthur A. Bryan held several joint ownerships of funeral homes in Zanesville since 1940. In 1965, he set out on his own, building a new funeral home facilitiy at the current location of 2318 Maple Ave. With over 50 years of funeral directing service, Arthur died July 19, 1987.

Thomas A. Bryan, son of Arthur, gained ownership of the buisness in 1977 following his father’s retirement, and continued the funeral home’s operation. In 1997, he sold the business and property to Carriage Funeral Services. Upon his retirement, funeral director Dan Snider’s name was added to the funeral home in 2006. Dan had been with the Bryan family since 1984.

Phil Z.

Manager

Phil has been in Funeral Service since 1998 and has had a variety of experiences in Immediate Need and Pre-​Arranged Funeral and Cemetery Services, including burial, cremation and pet services. He focuses on educating families and tailoring the services to meet the families financial and service needs; while creating a meaningful experience for the families he serves.

Phil earned two bachelor degrees from the University of Missouri-​Columbia (Mizzou) and is a licensed Funeral Director. Phil also earned his cremation certification from the Cremation Association of North America (CANA) and Matthews Cremation.

Phil moved to Zanesville from the St. Louis, Missouri area. He is married, they have a son and two dogs. Phil is a devoted Christian, member of the National Association of Funeral Directors (NFDA), The International Cemetery, Cremation and Funeral Association (ICCFA) and the Pet Loss Professional Alliance (PLPA).
