La Quinta Inn & Suites Oklahoma City -Yukon

Looks like the hotel just went through a remodel? Our fridge and microwave had paint all over. The closet door was rusted around the entire frame (original glass door, maybe didn’t have time to switch out?) Whomever did the remodeling really messed up the faucet in the shower-​it leaked all over the place when it was on. But all room details aside, we just didn’t have the best stay. There was a ton of crashing down the hallways, people upstairs that sounded like they were practicing for a marching band with their heavy feet. When checking in, the front desk let me know how relieved she was that we finally showed up since we were her last arrival for the night-​as if it was a burden we came in so late. She was nice, but kind of short. I started to fill out my vehicle information and she quickly said I didn’t need to do that and grabbed the paper. I was told my room was down the hall and have a good night. No typical information about breakfast, WiFi or where the designated pet area was.
This wasn’t the worst hotel stay I’ve ever had, but there is a lot to improve on to make your guests feel more welcome.

I really liked this hotel for the first night I checked in. The lobby was very clean and updated. The king size jacuzzi suite was also very nice, with the exception of the various stains on the carpet (which appeared to be from dog feces). But the problems started on the second night. I didn’t realize I was going to need another night, so my initial reservation was only for one night. So I was happy they still had vacancy when I needed to book another night before my return trip back home. The sheets were gone, the trash was still in the room, the counters seemed to be worse than before, there was trash throughout the hallway, there were no towels, and missing pillows.
I also couldn’t get either TV to work — they both showed a blank screen. The room also had wasted space — it was very spacious, but not even a dining room table, despite there being a kitchen sink, microwave and refrigerator.
Another problem were the luggage carts. Of the three that were there in the morning, two were there at night, and both of those had cracked, broken flat tires. And nevermind struggling to get those to my room — the elevator stopped working. This happened BOTH nights, so I couldn’t return my cart back to the lobby, and I had no desire to take it down via the stairs. I talked to the front desk about this and he assured me he would have someone come out to fix it, as he observed it was having problems himself. I also got new linens and towels, although it wasn’t what the room was supplied with originally, because the hotel ran out of towels.
As for breakfast — the juice was so watered down, it was disgusting. I think another reviewer mentioned the same. At least this location had honey, which the others didn’t, although the waffle batter did run out about 90 minutes before breakfast was done.
I feel like this hotel could have some potential if it had better management and housekeeping. However, if I weren’t traveling with recently purchased dogs for my ranch, I would have stayed elsewhere.

Pros
Easy access off I-​40. Quick check-​in. Pretty good continental breakfast. Pet friendly.
Cons
Pool was closed for renovation. Not sure what that meant because we walked through the pool area and it looked ok. Kids were disappointed.
Heater in the room didn’t work. When we called about it, we were offered a chance to change rooms which we declined.
Juice at breakfast was watered down and undrinkable.
Overall, the décor was an attempt at modern by someone who didn’t know much about style. It felt like lipstick on a pig.
If you don’t have a dog with you, there is no particular reason this is a good hotel to stay at. Try somewhere else.

So I decided to stay at this hotel and give them the benefit of the doubt to their bad reviews which say it is not good due to renovation. However I think it is a poorly ran hotel regardless. Upon arrival things were ok the room was clean. It was late so the fact that the TV didn’t turn on was ok. Then when we woke up things started to go bad. The TV was plugged in to socket so when you turn the light off the TV goes off. And At breakfast the lady working seemed to have her family or friends eating there and talking loudly. Then our key stopped working so we had to go up and down 5 times until finally we got the manager who had to change the batteries on the door. Then we went in the spa and the spa was like warm at best. zThen It showed on my bank statements that I was charged twice and I went and asked the guy at the front desk why. He said it was pending because it holds the deposit and that it would come off when we checked out (ok I’ve had that happen a lot at hotels) however it went through and I was charged twice. So I called and they told me the manager would be in the next day to help. 6 days went by with no call or refund. Then I called back and again they said the manager would be in the next day… No call AGAIN! So I called back and the front desk told me the manager is gone and they don’t know when she will be back and that it doesn’t show they charged me twice… Yet on my end my money is GONE!!! Plus what kind of hotel doesn’t have management? Worst experience ever!!!

This hotel company has become our go to spot when traveling. Thank goodness they are everywhere. We decided to join the La Quinta Returns Program: a way to earn points towards «free nights» and upgrades. Did I mention this is a pet friendly hotel? We are already making plans for next year and we may bring our pets with us.
The room is spacious with a king size bed, a social gathering area with two easy chairs and a love seat that pulls out into a full size bed, a desk, a dinette table for two, microwave, small refrigerator and coffee pot. Comfort beyond compare. Only down side no restaurant in the hotel so no room service.
Other amenities of the hotel are: indoor pool, Jacuzzi, gym, guest laundry area, beverage vending machines, snack vending machine: chips, sandwiches, pizza and more. They also serve breakfast everyday between 6−10am: cold cereal, coffee, tea, boiled eggs, waffles, juice, yogurt, fruits, toast, hot cereal and more.
We are becoming so spoiled with the great customer service of the La Quinta Inn & Suites.

UGH. This place is the worst. The girl working at the front desk when we check in is the only thing in this hotel deserving of the 1 star up there.
It looks nice enough from the outside. We checked in, and were directed to our non-​smoking room on the 2^nd floor. Step off the elevator onto the second floor and the entire hallway smells like an ashtray. It was pretty obvious that they had reserved this part of the 2^nd floor for smoking rooms, but why wouldn’t they put the smokers down at the end of the hallway, where the rest of us don’t have to be offended by the odor? Gross.
We entered our room, and the first thing I notice is a giant red stain on the floor. Okay, I thought I could handle that, I’d just assume it was wine. Then I look to my left, at the sliding mirrored doors on the closet and one of them has a crack extending across the entire mirror. Since we’re traveling with small children, this isn’t acceptable (even if we weren’t, that wouldn’t be acceptable to me). So, I look around the room for a phone to call the front desk. The phone is missing.
So I get out my cell, call downstairs, and the girl (who was very kind and accommodating) says we can have a new room. So I trek downstairs with two kids and the luggage we’d already moved, and then up to the new room. We arrive, the room smells a little weird, and the bathroom door has a hole in it which appears to be from someone punching it, but at this point I just want to have a room to keep our stuff in, so I am going to let it go. After being in the room a little while, we learned that the bathroom sink wouldn’t drain, so we got to wash our hands in the bathtub. Speaking of the bathtub, the room was so gross that after our baby crawled around on the floor for afew minutes while we unpacked, her feet and legs were jet black from dirt. SO GROSS.
Then my husband decides to take the kids swimming, while I put the baby to sleep for the night. They come back shortly to let me know that the pool is filthy. Water so dirty that it’s cloudy. Gross! Also there were no towels at the pool for anyone, so everyone leaving the pool was just dripping all over and then going to their rooms. Our 2 year old slipped in water near the elevator.
We bathe the kids and put them to bed, but not before we realize that the people above us on the 3^rd floor have a child, too. And we notice this because we can clearly hear this kid running back and forth and back and forth and back and forth across the room. This was at nearly 10pm. We called the front desk to complain, but no one answered.
We woke up early and decided to get the hell out of this place. Figured we’d grab our free breakfast and jet. We got downstairs at about 8 (breakfast at this place goes until 10), and there was no milk, coffee, or any sort of protein (yogurt or eggs) left. Basically, there was a carb fest– plenty of fruit loops and frosted flakes. This was the last straw for us. We went to our room, packed up and were ready to check out. When I checked out, no one asked me how my stay was, so I let the manager at the desk know that we had a bad time. He laughed uncomfortably and said «Oh, really?» I started to mention a couple of the things that were bad and he just giggled again. So I asked if he had a manager, to which he fumbled around in the La Quinta book with every phone number of every La Quinta in the country. He said he couldn’t find the right number, but that I could look through it and figure out who to call. Well, that’s too much effort for me, but leaving a Unilocal review isn’t! So, here it is.
I hope we’re able to help some people steer clear of this terrible La Quinta.

Stayed here last night. Very nice rooms and facility. Everything in the place seems to be upscale, and the price was only 83.00 Breakfast was good and the coffee was the best and nice heavy duty coffee cups.
The best la Quinta Inn that we have had the pleasure of staying.

Pet friendly hotel. Clean, well managed, very friendly employees. Only complaint was a burning, chemical odor in our room. I believe it is from repeated cleaning of the room and the popcorn ceiling has absorbed the odor. This type of ceiling, unless painted, is notorious for absorption of odor.
We traveled with our 100# chocolate labrador between St. Louis and Mesa, Az twice, staying at this hotel both times. I will certainly book again at this La Quinta because of what they offer.

chose to stay at this hotel over the others in OK city because this one had a gym and more decent size rooms.
The hotel staff was super friendly and sweet. Very accommodating. The room was clean and spacious. Loved that we finally found a La Quinta with a refrigerator in the room.
My only problem with this La Quinta is the gym. We specifically chose to stay here because they had a gym. After a long day on the road, a run on the treadmill is just what we need to get our blood moving. The ‘gym’ here needs work. Please don’t advertise you have a gym if the equipment is broken. The elliptical is so rickity it felt, and sounded, like it was going to break apart any second.
The treadmill only had a few set speeds. The buttons to change to a custom speed were broken and punched out. This meant I had to walk, or run like I was being chased down by a car. Invest a few bucks and fix the equipment… please!
The breakfast buffet was awesome. The other La Quintas I have stayed at recently only had waffles and cold items. This one had waffles, eggs, sausage, bacon and then the usual bagels and cereal.
all in all, worth the extra bucks to stay here.
