Vip Smog & Electric

I went to one of the other smog places in town and he told me my car wouldn’t start the machine. I was freaking out because there is nothing wrong with my car and I thought I was going to have to take it to a mechanic. Instead I took it to Bob and he was so great. He hooked my car up and it had absolutely no problems, it passed with flying colors. I will not take my car anywhere else.

I was very impressed with this shop! The owner (Bob) took care of my car even though he had already been closed for an hour. It was a fast trip and he had some of the best customer service skills I have ever seen. Would definitely recommend!

Bob has been our go-​to smog guy for the past few years– on three older, high mileage vehicles– he has managed to get us in quickly, make small repairs as needed for a reasonable price, and get our cars to pass — great guy and great service. And a musician to boot! always like supporting our local talent– thanks, Bob!

I spoke to the owner on the phone and explained my situation, he said «no problem, bring it in». I brought it in for my appointment (25 minutes early, he made me wait while he crushed cans, my 10 year old daughter was lucky enough to sit by a bag of trash in his waiting room). I told him my scan tool said my vehicle was ready for smog but my secondary air monitor was not ready. He insisted my tool was accurate in stating I was ready for smog. He made me pay $ 58.25 before he touched my vehicle and did not generate a purchase order or receipt. He then hooked his computer up and told me that he can’t smog me because my secondary air monitor was not ready. Ok, I just told him that. He still charged me $ 25.00 and only refunded me the $ 33.25. Then he offered to diagnose my issue for $ 135.00, thanks but no thanks. I went to him because other friends had recommended him but never again, good luck.

Be careful with this shop.
A few years back I took a car in and was told the part needed was over 500.00
I went to another place they fixed it with a new part for less than 100.00.
I never went back, no surprise there,

Highly recommend! Was open later than everyone else in town. Quoted me the full, all inclusive price right up front, then actually ended up much cheaper when I arrived and he figured out exactly what I needed. Offers military discounts too.

I have been using Bob for a number of years and would highly recommend his service. Always able to get in after a phone call. I have picked up an International Scout II that I want Bob to go through and rewire, I thought of him when I was looking at and felt good about his ability to take on the job.

Bob (the owner) is a great mechanic. He always seems to have an opening and most important, he is very honest. We take all our vehicles here to have them smogged. His prices are reasonable and you will not find a friendlier, quicker mechanic in town!

After a frustrating day Dealing with the DMV and having to pay some Tickets in order to try and renew my wife’s registration which completely blind-​sided me. (Wives and their damn tickets! AHHHH). I was told that our Vehicle needed a new Smog Check. I was just about to say F this all to heck.
but I had to go to Yucca Valley to buy some food for the Critters and we looked for a place to get the smog checked.
stopped behind the Starbucks and talked to a guy at the Quick Lube who recommended this place to us. he said that he was the cheapest (price wise) and thorough mechanic in the area. Of course we took this with a grain of salt.
We arrived here to find the guy working in his garage.
Now at first mopst people may be put off by the appearance of this establishment but this is an all american GARAGE DAMNIT! ha.
sure a little dusty some clutter and the smell of. well. Garage and MANLINESS. it just seemed like a typical pops place. where men do real manly work.
any way we talked to a very nice Man (Robert Garcia I believe was his name) who took care of us right there and then. he said it would take about 30 minutes for the full check up and get our papers/​certificate out the door.
He lied!!!
we were out in almost 15.
He was very quick and made a very frustrating day a little more bearable to deal with.
the whole thing was only about 58 dollars. talk about a deal!
I highly recommend this place.
