Super 8 Motel Yucca Valley Joshua Tree National Park

Summary: Pretty good for the location (backhanded compliment).
Positive: They do a good job of running the hotel and are courteous. Lots of towels. Working appliances which include a fridge, and a microwave. Free Wifi. Lots of restaurants next door. Odorless room. Plenty of parking.
Negative: The mattress springs are evident on the mattress, and the showerhead was a mess and I had to remove it to take a shower after it pinched my finger. I am glad I had earplugs for the night as I could hear the trucks driving on the highway despite being in a room in the back. All nearby restaurants close at 9PM. No rooms are walk in, and are accessible only from the inside corridor.

Room was quite spacious and clean. Fridge and coffee available. Friendly staff. Pool available but we didn’t use it. Poor breakfast. Good for one night only but what to stay for longer. Good location to visit Joshua Tree Park. WIFI is Ok.

Great value. My girlfriend and I were visiting Joshua Tree National Park this weekend. You should go! This hotel is about 6 miles from the park ranger welcome center at the west entrance of Joshua Tree. It is located ‘in town’ by several chain restaurants (The Sizzler awaits you), Starbucks, walmart, etc. There is one nicer hotel closer to the park but it is kind of out there away from the actual town. The Super 8 staff were nice. The room was clean. No bed bugs or gross stains to be found. It’s an older building and the bed has springs. However, you’ll spring right out of bed in the morning and feel refreshed at you reflect on your free Mini fridge, free wifi, free cable TV, free plastic coffeemaker and how they offer free breakfast till 10am. The breakfast consists of pre-​packaged cinnamon buns, Applesi, bananas, orange or Apple juice, a cereal bar, waffles, wheat or white bread and a state of the art toaster. All in all a great and affordable place to stay if you are going to be hiking or sight seeing nearby. I paid $ 65 for our one night because the single bed rooms ($ 55) were all booked up. Yeaaaaa

Customer service was great. Staff was friendly and courteous. We had an issue with the toilet and they immediately offered a new room across the hall. The blackout curtains did their job very well. The pillows were pretty good, too. The price was within our budget and we felt like we got a good value.

Internet is horrible, it takes few minutes to open any website, i tried on my cell phone and laptop. The front desk customer service isn’t nice. It’s common for Hindu people

Came in and staff was super friendly and welcoming. Smoke alarm was going off they came in and handled no problem right away. Room was super nice and clean and especially for the price. I’d highly recommend this place to someone staying in the area!!!

We have stayed here multiple times to visit the johnson valley ohv area «hammers». The staff at this establishment are very polite and accommodating. The rooms are quiet interrupted only by emergency vehicles on the nearby toad. The prices are very reasonable. For a super 8, this place is great. With better mattresses and linnens, i would give 5 stars. I highly recommend this hotel for johnson valley /​Joshua tree recrearion.

Don’t know what the negative reviews are all about… but they are from a different time!
We had a GREAT time! Close to the 2 attractions we wanted to see, Joshua Tree Nat. Park, and the
Room was very clean, a little dated, but the towels were fine, and the sheets & bedspread passed the «black light test», with NO glows! Manager and family were kind and accommodating. Breakfast just enough if you want to dine and dash… off to the rocks, etc. Great value!

I am only giving this place 1 star for two reasons:
1) it was relatively inexpensive and only a few miles from where I needed to be…
2) the wonderful girl who checked me in and was there while I was eating breakfast was super warm and welcoming. we even talked for twenty minutes about weddings… in my opinion she is the only bright thing about this place.
Now onto the bad:
Yes the room was clean, and yes it is a motel but come on. The rooms were very outdated. I am only 5’3″ and I felt like a giant in the bathroom. The bed was rock hard and there was no cushion to the measly two pillows that were on the bed. The TV had bad quality, but the selection of channels was decent.
The people is what made this place the worst! Besides the wonderful girl who helped me, the other two employees I ran into seemed so suspicious of me! They have a policy of no visitors (I did not realize that checking into a motel really meant checking in to a rehab or cult…) and when I returned from the wedding I was at, I was confronted «Do you need a room?! I don’t see your room key out!» I am sorry I was just trying to get back to my room… Then the next morning when I was partaking in the mediocre breakfast I was watched by the gentlemen working the desk… when I went to leave (after I have checked out and everything) I was confronted again… «what room are you?!» When I replied what room I was and that I already checked out with the lovely woman from check in, he was like «oh, well bye.» NO thank you, NO we hope to see you again… NOTHING. Customer service is severely lacking… for being such a small place in the middle of nowhere, you should have respect coming out of the wazoo!
I will not be returning… You’d be better off at one of the other motels along route 62… or better yet go to Palm Springs and stay in a hotel…1

The place was clean enough. The continental breakfast was so-​so; the bathroom’s amenities were a little short. Only good thing is the surrounding grocery stores in the neighborhood.

So disappointing, I have stayed here about 30 – 40 times over the past 10 years. its been like a slow motion train wreck watching this place fall apart.
My last few stays I realized things are not so good anymore. The staff is disrespectful, the room was dirty, it smelled like feet, the beds were hard as rocks (my back was wrecked come Monday), the sheets were scratchy, the same smudge was on the toilet for 2 days till I cleaned it myself, TV gave you nothing but infomercials and qvc, the food in the vending machines was expired and melted, the soda machines were out of most things, the air conditioner always has problems, the microwave wouldn’t turn off by itself, the breakfast used to be decent but now you better like cereal or apples cause that’s what you get.
Best off all they have a «no visitors policy» and their rude staff will yell at your family for walking you to your room after a wake if they are not staying with you. They don’t tell you about this policy before you book. Nope, they just started yelling at you with threats of charges. If your family is like mine and you walk places together, reconsider booking here.
I wish I paid the extra $ 10 to book at any of the much better hotels that are now in town.

I’ve stayed here twice, once in 2008 and again just last weekend. My experience was exactly the same both times: Clean rooms with sufficient amenities, a small but very well-​kept pool, and coffee and a nice little bfast every morning. I think this is family run and they are helpful, kind and hard-​working. For the money, it can’t be beat.

Staff is very helpful and friendly, room is simple but has everything you need: TV, WiFi, fridge, microwave. Give me a clean room and I’m happy, especially at this price level :)

Very friendly staff, nice little continental breakfast to get you going, and the rooms are relatively clean. Obviously not the nicest room you have stayed in, but for the price it is nice.
No jacuzzi. :(

A-​OK for a Super 8. The room was clean. The shower was a little jankety — the water didn’t drain, so I had to hurry up before the tub filled up, and the shower head was about chest level (and I’m short).
The person at the front desk was very friendly.
There is no jacuzzi, and the stuff they have at the free breakfast kind of sucks, but is okay if you’re just looking for anything to eat.
If I paid $ 20 less, it would’ve been a five star motel experience.

Pretty impressed with this cheap hotel. Great ac and it seemed to be very clean! The staff was very nice and its very close to Joshua tree national park. Not bad at all, I highly recommend it. Oh and the pool was very clean and well kept too.

It’s a janky motel, so it starts off at a 2.5 star review off the bat.
The dude at the front desk told me he only had 1 room and it was smoking, after checking it out and saying «no, it smells bad, i’ll go somewhere else», they magically had another non-​smoking room. Minus one star for that.
The room wasn’t too bad, no funky smells or anything like that. Everything was clean. But the AC was busted, minus ½ star for that.
They have free wifi and a couple of premium TV channels, so plus 1.5 stars on that front.
The free breakfast is pretty crappy, but it’s better than nothing, so plus another ½ star there.
We had our barky dogs with us and didn’t get kicked out, so add a bonus star on that one.
Not really a ⁴⁄₅ place, but if you’re in a bind check it out. Happy we had somewhere to sleep on Friday night!

My friend and I stayed here at the start of our desert road trip on 4^th of July after watching the Yucca Valley fireworks from the nearby Desert Christ Park. A strange, fun start to a trip full of odd delights.
While the motel was a little pricey for what it is, the rooms were comfortable and clean. It included a decent Continental breakfast and has a pool. We only stayed here for the night, but enjoyed it.

This was a surprisingly nice economy class hotel. The rooms were clean and well maintained — pretty much the main thing I expect in any hotel. The parking lot was well lit at night and the hotel was reasonably secure. Very friendly service at the front desk.
I didn’t try the breakfast so I can’t comment on that.
Prepaid for the hotel room so we paid $ 55 for two double beds.
If I return to Yucca Valley this would be a very likely return visit.

This place is WAY overpriced for the quality and location.
The only reason they get away with charging $ 70 a night for a single is purely supply and demand.
I would highly suggest staying somewhere else, plenty of motels along 62.
