CrossFit is defined as «constantly varied, functional movement, executed at high intensity.» Our program is designed to benefi anyone, from the specialized athlete to elderly to de-conditioned people. The three main modalities most commonly found at CrossFit Unforgiven are metabolic conditioning (like running, rowing and swimming), gymnastics movements (like push-ups, pull-ups and muscle-ups), and weightlifting (like the clean and jerk, deadlift and the overhead squat).
At CrossFit Unforgiven, each workout is scaled or modified for the individual, depending on their fitness experience and capacity. We are serious about building a good foundational base on which to add strength, power and intensity. All movements need to be executed with proper technique and full range of motion before weight is added into the equation. Whether you have always been athletic, or you have never been inside a gym of any kind, CrossFit can improve your quality of life. We provide pure, raw, real CrossFit.
History
Established in 2011.
In October 2010, my wife and I started to CrossFit. I have studied strength and conditioning for years, and easily transitioned those skills to CrossFit. My wife, however, was completely intimidated. She made excuses not to go. Consequently, we had long talks about our fitness goals and our commitment to our health & fitness. Through these deeply thought out conversations, we both determined that we really wanted to make CrossFit work for not only our lives, but for others’ lives. We wanted our own box. We started making plans to convert our garage into our very own box. In February 2011, I received my Level I certification and opened our garage box. By October 2011 we were in our building in Yucaipa. In January 2012, my wife was certified (also 7 months pregnant). In July 2012 we expanded to double the square footage and our CrossFit Unforgiven community of members is growing stronger everyday. We invite you to come try a WOD for free.
