Friendly staff, clean office. The wait time has always been less than 10 minutes. Dr. Tolman is very friendly and personable. I would recommend this office.

I love this place. My eyes are pretty good I’ve always had ²⁰⁄₂₀ vision, but I was told every time I had an exam that my left eye wasn’t as good as my right. I had been prescribed glasses in the past, but I honestly never could tell a difference if I wore them or not. Until now, Dr. Taxera was amazing! He took his time and helped me get the exact right Rx for me. I love wearing these glasses, and don’t get me started on the prescription Maui Jims I got. Best sun glasses I’ve ever had. I love this office!

I have been a patient of Dr. Tolman ’ s for several years and all of my experiences have been anazing. From the courtesy of the staff to the technology of the optical testing equipment, I have been so impressed. Dr. Tolman is very thorough, explaining the results of the exam. **UPDATE**
I picked up my new glasses yesterday, one pair of progressives for everyday use and one pair of readers for computer work. The readers are perfect but the progressives are not the frames I had picked out. I explained this to the woman helping me, she said that was impossible since they took the model number right from the frame tag when I made my decision. I know these are not the frames I ordered but it looks like I’m stuck with them until next September. Unfortunately the glasses are uncomfortable and heavy on my face so I’ll be looking for a good charity to donate them to. $ 300.00 down the drain!

Dr. Taxera is the best eye doctor around. He is always more than helpful to fit you into his schedule if an emergency is required and always makes you feel welcome and are appreciated!

Dr. Texera is our doctor. My kids have always had a great experience with the wonderful lady who does the pre-​visit check-​up and with his visit as well. They are both truly great, very personable and super kind. The receptionists are generally great too and so is most of the stuff. The missing ‘fifth star” in my review is due to the lazy, rude, insensitive and overall totally unpleasant girl who we had the misfortune to work with a few times when choosing the frames. I wish i knew her name. dark hair, short, grumpy, always looking bored and annoyed. First time I thought she might have been in a bad mood, the 3 times after just confirmed she is just like that. That said, there are other girls available to help, who are very pleasant to deal with, kind and professional, just have to be lucky and go choose your frames when that particular one is not working I guess… For us, those bad experiences –and the very pricey frames– have forced us to take our prescription elsewhere to get the eyeglasses. Still, I wouldn’t trade the professional and positive experience provided by the actual visit even for a lower cost.

Office staff is kind and friendly. Dr. Tolman is thorough and professional yet easy to talk to. Definitely recommend.

I love this office! The staff is always super friendly and inviting. Any questions I have they answer without hesitation. The fountain is a nice touch and is very relaxing.
They have a HUGE selection of frames, which can get a bit pricy, but you get what you pay for.
I was seeing a different optometrist a while back and I didn’t like that she talked down to me like I was a child. The Dr’s here are always friendly and knowledgeable and up to date on current eye health information, and they talk to you like a real person. I refer everyone I know to this office!!!

If you check the other reviews I’ve left you’ll notice I am almost entirely positive. Normally if I can’t leave a good review I don’t leave one at all, but the pure laziness of the staff at this place is absolutely infuriating and their horrible customer service deserves a bad review.
I gave a ride to a young patient who, because she was once in the Foster Care system, is on Medi-​Cal/​State Benefits. Unfortunately, the state is often frustrating to deal with: be it an appointment with a medical doctor or dentist, the initial feedback when checking for her eligibility on the computer is that she is not currently active. I’ve been with her at half a dozen appointments and this issue arises every time. The solution is for the reception staff to make a phone call to the state office– a number provided right on the benefits card for just such an occasion-​and speak directly with an agent. I told this to the receptionist and she refused to make the call, stating that these days the computer tells them all they need to know and there is no need to call. («We just don’t do that»). From experiences with other medical appointments, we know better. For some reason there is a glitch with this person’s account that is ALWAYS cleared up with a phone call. Sure, it’s a pain in the butt to have to talk to a live person instead of typing into the computer, but sometimes it’s necessary.
The patient called the number herself from her cell phone. As expected, her eligibility was verified. She took her phone to the receptionist, who was informed that she was indeed eligible and that a letter stating that fact would be faxed by the end of the business day. At the dentist or medical offices, this is always enough. Not here! They told this patient that she will have to be rescheduled because they won’t see her until the fax actually arrives. It is my opinion that this decision was made, in large part, due to hurt ego: they’d refused to make the call themselves and insisted that «the computer says you are not eligible and that’s what we go by now,» which was disproven by a simple phone call made by the patient-​a call they should have been willing to make themselves.
This patient moves out of state in a week, and made that fact known. She is on an extreme time crunch and her benefits expire soon. Verbal authorization from the state — with the promise by the state’s representative to fax an eligibility letter — has always been enough at other medical offices and should have been sufficient in this case as well. This was a case of very, very poor customer service.

When I was a kid Dr. Taxera was my optometrist, now that I’m older and have my own insurance I am again a patient of 3 Rivers Optometry.
The facilities are quite nice. Though the waiting area is quite small, only 4 – 5 chairs. The staff is always friendly and attentive.
Dr. Toleman is now my optometrist & I am quite happy. He’s a kind man with a gentle nature. He was very open to any questions I had and did not make me feel rushed so he could get to the next patient.
They have a nice assortment of frames to choose from. They have ‘economy’ frames all the way to designer like Coach, D&G, Dior & Fendi. And to be honest the Coach frames I got were pricey but not extraordinarily out of my budget. Granted I also have decent insurance.
The staff who are in the lenses area of the building are very kind & patient. They of course will try to up-​sale you on everything but don’t pressure you. I decided against the fancy-​dancy lenses material and suck to plastic (for price purposes of course, my insurance will only cover plastic lenses). The gal I was dealing with just went over the differences of course between both but when I choose to just do plastic she didn’t pressure me. I think she did her job well without being pushy.
So, if you have insurance, I would defiantly suggest this business for your eye care needs. (If you have medical you should call ahead and see if they accept medical.)
Oh yeah, and I don’t believe you have to have an appointment, but it would really benefit you if you did.
