I can’t say enough about John Burger Heating and Air. Our heater went out in the middle of January while I was out of town for training leaving my wife and 1 year old son in the cold. Our home warranty company sent over two other HVAC companies who either told us they were too busy or could not get the necessary parts for several days. John Burger came over personally and after a short time, he had our heater working like new. You will not find a more skilled and honest HVAC provider than John Burger. Thank you again John.

Fast and friendly with competitive pricing, called them with a semi emergency and they were more then willing to squeeze us in even with a very full schedule.
I would highly recommend giving them a call .
Update: I had them replace my whole system it was a fast and easy process, there techs are very helpful and made sure we were completely satisfied before they left. I really can’t say enough good about This company other then give them a try and you will not be disappointed.

We bought a foreclosure home that came with a 22 year old HVAC system (51 year old coil system). We knew that all or part of the system would have to be replaced at some point, but we really didn’t know which pieces. When we ran into John Burger and his crew at the Yuba-​Sutter Home & Garden Expo, we asked if they would be willing to come out and take a look. The very next day, a technician came out checked the entire system from top to bottom. After looking everything over, he recommended that the coil, furnace, and the condenser all be replaced. After doing our due diligence, we decided to proceed with the replacement and we hired John Burger and his team to carry it out (very competitive price). Fast forward three days and John’s team was onsite and working hard. In less than eight hours, the job was complete, and to the utmost attention to detail.

We purchased an older home and of course things happen. We had a brownout a few months ago and when the power kicked back on it fried the circuit board. We waited too long to call anyone to fix it but as the weather got colder we couldn’t put it off any longer. We searched the internet and came across John Burger’s ad. We called on ¹²⁄₃₁ and they came out ½ (¹⁄₁ was a holiday). The technician «Keo» was extremely professional and friendly and explained that we would need a replacement. I checked online to get an idea of what the circuit boards run for the aged furnace since I try to be very cautious. Keo went back to the office to see if they had one in stock. Keo called and let us know they did and he quoted just about that same price I had found online. He came back that afternoon and set us up. I would recommend this company at this time. Once the summer arrives we will most likely contact them again to fix the airco.

I’m a big fan. My wife had been trying to get John Burger to take a look at the HVAC system for the house we just bought. My wife could not seem to coordinate an appt schedule. However, I placed a call and got an immediate appt. Maybe it helps because the appt was set for a Saturday. Eddie, HVAC tech, contacted me and instructed me to call his cell phone when I arrive in town. Did I mention I was traveling and live about 2 hours away.
I arrived in town and contacted Eddie. He answered the cell phone right away and was very courteous. We set a time and he was very prompt. I told Eddie I was not sure of the condition of the roof mounted HVAC system and felt it needed a thorough check up. This is where it got weird.
Eddie started checking over the HVAC system. It seems the system had not been run for sometime. The filter was solidly packed with dirt. I expected things, i.e. cost, to go sideways from there. I am please to say it did not. Eddie spent about 3+ hours going over the system thoroughly. He informed me of the condition of the HVAC, which I suspected was not in the best, the parts that would be needed and the approx cost to fix it.
I was prepared to get scalped but I felt the cost were fair. Eddie was not able to fix the heater part of the system and informed me he would have his senior tech take a look at it. Needless to say, the HVAC unit is working beyond my expectations. My wife and I are very pleased. I plan on having John Burger service this unit from now on.
Lastly, I found this company provides fair cost, excellent and professional service.

We had just gotten back from vacation, and I put the AC back to its regular schedule, yet it never felt any cooler after several hours. After running the AC, I could hear the compressor was running, but the fan wasn’t. Our AC wasn’t that old, only about 5 years, but still, I was preparing myself for the worst, yet hoping for the best. On the advice of others, I decided not to take a look myself and give a professional a call; my in-​laws suggested John Burger since they had dealt with them in the past.
Since this occurred over the night, I had done some research myself and found out the most likely issues (capacitor, fuses, fan motor, etc). I had tried resetting the fuses both at the breaker panel and at the blower, but that didn’t do anything. Since I could hear the compressor running, yet the fan wasn’t moving, I was suspecting it would be either the capacitor or motor.
The next morning I called John Burger; the receptionist was very friendly, took my information, and said a tech would be out between 2−4p same day.
The Tech arrived on-​time (3:20p), was very friendly and courteous, and went straight for testing the capacitor. He replaced it with a new one, which seemed to fix it, but it ran for approx 5 sec due to the PGE smart meter…5 minutes later, the AC turns on, everything seems to be running fine. He does a few more diagnostics, including checking freon levels.
It was a good experience, except the price is a little on the steep side. We were charged $ 170; not that its completely unheard of, and far from a horror story, but it seems the part costs approx $ 30 – 40, so a more reasonable cost would have been around $ 100-​$ 110, at least in my mind, since its only a 5-​minute procedure. Still, the fact that the tech was courteous (which is big for me), willing to spend a few moments to answer all my unrelenting questions about HVAC systems, didn’t try to sell me some sort of «package» or maintenance deal means I will probably use them again in the future.
