Ann Arbor Transmissions

i can honestly say i thought these people were the best. i have referred a few people to them and one of them had a problem and they refuse to help… they went to valvoline and had an oil change and it was leaking oil and car died a few months later. i told them to take it to ann arbor transmissions. they said that valvoline forgot to put the o ring back on and it caused oil to lead on the serpentine belt and it slid off causing the car to die… well for a few hundred dollars they fixed it… yahoo…well not the case a few months go by and car dies… took it back to the great ann arbor transmissions and they said it would be another $ 325.00 because the oil cap was cracked and it was leaking oil and the serpentine belt fell off and there were no o ring on it… they should of noticed this when they fixed it a few months ago… i am with my friend this is totally unfair for them to charge another $ 325… when it is totally there fault… they say it is not but it is. they should of noticed there were no o rings and that the cap was cracked… my faith in them has gone down the drain they are no as fair as i thought they would be…

I’ve had two great experiences with this business thus far — I can say with confidence that they are now my go-​to auto shop in town. My 10-​year-​old car has had repeated issues with its air conditioning over the years, and after multiple visits, another place in town just couldn’t figure out what was going on. The folks here had it figured out right away and were really fair with their analysis and estimate.
Recently, I wanted to see if my car had more life in it or if it was time to start hunting for a new vehicle. After a very fairly-​priced examination of my car, a number of reasonable issues were resolved at what I felt was a fair and reasonable price. They even left my car inside the shop over the weekend while I was out — super impressed by their service!

…From out of town, in Ann Arbor and my vehicle quit. A local friend highly recommended this place. I checked their diagnosis with my local mechanic back home and he said, «Sounds right, fair price, go for it». Quick work, runs great, price just fine — and very nice guys — yep!

This place is awesome. My car was stalling at random times and I took it to them for an evaluation. The Honda dealership in town, where I get my oil and filter changed, basically left a line disconnected which caused the problems, which they promptly recognized and re-​attached. Minimal wait time, super-​nice, and extremely fair price. Talked me through what the problem was with the car so I would know what to do next time if it arises. I was very impressed with their services and highly recommend them.

After reading online reviews, including on Google and Unilocal,I decided to take my truck into Ann Arbor Transmission Service where I was greeted by Tom. He was very friendly and very helpful, and made me an appointment for an inspection. My Tacoma had some steering issues, and before I dropped off my truck, Ron (the owner and head mechanic) did some research on the issue, and fixed my truck in less than half an hour and charged me an INCREDIBLY fair amount. He even provided me a print out with information he found online regarding his research on my truck’s issue. It’s rare that auto mechanics are this honest and friendly. I HIGHLY recommend Ann Arbor Transmission Service, and this place is definitely my go-​to when I need auto repairs.
The only things to keep in mind is that they’re open M-​F 830 – 530, and Saturday 9−2pm. So, if you, like me, work 9 – 5, it can be difficult to have your car looked at. Also, it’s best to call ahead and make an appointment. I made an appointment, then I took a few hours off work and it was absolutely worth it. Again, I give it my strongest recommendation.
