Specialties
Corner is casual. Order your food at the bar and we’ll buzz you when it’s ready. While you’re waiting, enjoy one of our beers, a crisp cider, or a glass of wine. We encourage you to take advantage of the free wifi, dartboards, board games, and numerous events hosted at Corner. During the warmer months we open up our beer garden and when it’s chilly you can sit by our cozy fireplace.
History
Established in 2006.
Matt and Rene began to set their sights on opening a packaging brewery to produce and bottle our award-winning beers for state-wide distribution. As long-time Ypsilanti residents, the Greffs wanted to help spearhead the economic renaissance in their hometown so they chose an abandoned warehouse tucked into a residential neighborhood a few blocks off of the beaten path.
The Microbrewery Brew Pub and Beergarden quickly became a regional destination and a favorite local hangout and by 2010 the brewery was bursting at the seams. So we set out sights on an ambitious $ 1 million expansion and green brewery renovation project. In addition to the green renovations, the project doubled the amount of car parking, tripled the amount of bike parking, added 2200 sq feet including new warehouse and office space, doubled the brewing capacity, and increased the bottling speed 5 fold.
Meet the Manager
Kari P.
Manager
Kari is the General Manager of ABC Microbrewery. She started here at the brewery in 2009 as the evening bar manager and quickly and happily accepted the GM position in 2010 where she met the love of her life, Daniel Peron (Brewery Manager) and never looked back! «I have the ability to work every day with my husband, friends, family and BEER! If you asked Kari what she loves most about her job, she won’t hesitate to say her staff. «They all seem to impress me some way, somehow, every single day! Their dedication and passion for the brewery is over-whelming.»
Kari received her nickname Gypsi from the brew staff and shortly had a beer named after her (Ypsi Gypsi Pale Ale). After many attempts, Matt and Rene Greff were finally able to convince her to have an artist’s rendition of her as a Gypsy on the label of the bottle that you can now find in stores all over Michigan. In addition to her work, traveling and antiquing, Kari enjoys gardening, sewing, and refurbishing old furniture.
