Bardessono

My husband and I decided to drive up to Napa for MLK weekend, which happened to come right after my thirtieth birthday. I was in charge of booking our dinner reservations, and I made him figure out the hotel, just so I didn’t have to plan my whole birthday trip by myself. He took this to mean he was to choose a nice fucking hotel, and he booked us three nights at Bardessono. That was not my intention (after all, it’s my money, too), but I have to say: Matt B., you did good.
This was a gorgeous hotel right in the middle of Yountville, within walking distance of all the wineries and restaurants in the main part of town. The aesthetic was very modern, assertively designed, on the flashy side but more goddamn pretty than ostentatious. The lobby and grounds were lovely, and our room (#105) was spacious and beautiful. The bedroom opened out to a little patio, which we couldn’t use much due to rain, but I really enjoyed watching and hearing the rain fall from the comfortable warmth of the bed. We were able to control a fireplace and the world’s smoothest set of blinds by flicking a couple of switches. The bathroom was one of the nicest I’ve ever seen, all soft wood and gleaming tile. It was more or less the same size as the bedroom, with a big bathtub and a shower with fantastic water pressure.
Service was exceptional. We were welcomed the moment we arrived, possibly even by name. There was a small team of beautiful women at reception who poured us wine and bathed us in friendliness and attention as we checked in. One of the women guided us to our room and showed us all of its features. On the table next to the bed was a bottle of wine with a note for my birthday. I noticed it was from the Hill Family Estate, a Yountville winery, so I looked it up and found it was a $ 45 bottle – that was a first for a gift bottle from a hotel. We must’ve interacted with over a dozen staff members during the course of our stay, and every single one of them was pleasant and helpful. The bellhops and valets were wonderful – our car was always ready as soon as we called for it, and we took advantage of the complimentary shuttle service to get to a couple restaurants in Yountville when it was too wet to walk. The shuttles, incidentally, were like $ 90,000 Lexuses.
Bardessono also has a very nice full-​service spa. I don’t usually use spas at fancy hotels, but my mom bought us an in-​room couples massage for my birthday. We booked a 1-​hour Bardessono massage for 8:30 on Saturday morning – there was limited availability by the time we called, but this actually worked out. I will wake up early to have my body massaged by professionals literally any day. My massage therapist was excellent, and the hour passed like a luxurious dream.
We had a marvelous time in Yountville, and our stay at Bardessono was pivotal to the experience. The location, the room, the service, the everything – if you’re looking for an upscale hotel in Napa Valley, you can’t do much better than this.

Nice place to stay and very friendly staff and very good wine. No idea on price as company offsite here but guess it’s expensive with setting and ambience like this.

Wife and I stayed here for 3day its first class from the time you drive up till the time you leave our suite had an outside shower

If you really care about the quality and features of your room, like having a huge tub and big shower and a fireplace, this is the place for you. But there’s some things about this hotel you need to know. Like for example to get to your room you have to walk outdoors and go up steps and if it’s in winter, you will freeze your ass. Also since this is a very «green» hotel, the hot water is not really all that hot. That was annoying.
Everything else was great, although pricey place to stay, no doubt.

Exceptional hotel with excellent service and modest but beautiful grounds. There may not be a cavernous bar or big sumptuous restaurant, but for good reason. Every square inch is done so well, Bardessono makes you appreciate exquisite execution over the usual high-​priced grandeur. And the location is within walking distance to all Thomas Keller’s heavy-​hitters and some excellent wine tastings. Highly recommended.

Customer Service is great from receptionist, valet, and bar. Room quality is good. We had food from the bar and we think they are pretty good.
I am giving this place 1 star for one reason that management and visitors should know about. I wanted to get back to LA to make sure that I write an accurate information after we unpack.
This is the story… On November 24, our 8 year old daughter handed me her back pack before leaving the hotel room to go to San Francisco, it was in the morning before housekeeping cleaned up. I looked into her back pack to see whats in it. It was her Ipad, Ipod, and her new Polaroid Camera that we gave her for the holiday. We came back in the afternoon from SF. On the evening of the 24^th our daughter started looking for her ipod and polaroid and they were no where to be found in the room. we looked all over the place, in our cars, reported it to receptionist that night and reported it the morning we left on the 25^th. It was a 100% sure that the items were in the back pack. It only boils down to someone taking the items from our room. We were careless and we never took advantage of using the safe for anything valuable.

Found Bardessono easily online. Modern, spacious rooms within walking distance to the towns, restaurant and tastings. Plus… iPad room service ordering which came fast and was surprisingly good! The gym was close to the room also. Have to come back to try Lucy’s Restaurant on property. Even had a massage in the room, one of the best ever! Thank you xo

Looking for the best hotel experience in Napa Valley? Look no further… you found it. This was our second stay at Bardessono in 3 years, and we absolutely love it here. This place puts a smile on your face the moment you arrive, until you depart, and every moment in between.
Bardessono seems to have instilled a culture of friendly service with EVERY employee we’ve dealt with during our stay from the valets, front desk staff, spa therapists, restaurant staff, etc. It’s remarkable.
Bardessono is expensive and definitely a splurge for us, but it’s worth it. My wife and I have had the good fortune of staying at some of the best hotels and resorts in the world, and Bardessono is absolutely one of our favorites.
Now stop reading reviews and go ahead and book it — you won’t be disappointed.

This hotel was nice. The service was spectacular. I had a couple of hiccups with the concierge but everyone else made up for it. The reception always had wine available which was a nice touch.
There was mandatory valet for the car but the service was excellent. They would always run to get your car. Once, the valet guys were busy and a reception worker in a suit came over to help us. He ran across the parking lot to get our car in the 90°F heat… in a suit! Great service.
The room was beautiful. Comfortable place to hang out and relax. Bathroom was a good size with a comfortable hot tub to relax and drink some wine.
They had free coffee and snacks for breakfast which was a nice touch.
I didn’t check out the pool not didn’t I eat at Lucy’s so I can’t comment on that.
Overall great hotel in a great location. Would recommend to anyone.

My husband and I stayed her for a four night stay to attend a wedding in Napa. I must say, for all the traveling we do and the five-​star hotels we stay in, Bardessono is probably my favorite resort to date. The grounds are serene and modern, and the rooms are sleek, comfortable and provide high end amenities. The rooms are fully high tech from shades and fireplaces that are activated with the touch of a button to interactive iPads from which you can shop, research things to do, and even order room service from Lucy (which was also delish).
I highly recommend the couples massage and soak. The staff will come to your room and set up massage tables in front of the fireplace. You’ll enjoy a 2 hr massage and finish it off with a soak in the tub complete with bath salts and a bottle of champagne. My husband and I agreed it was one of the best parts to our stay.
To add a cherry on top to the whole experience, the staff was incredibly helpful and went above and beyond when my husband and I were trying to figure out how to hook our computer up to the television to watch a movie from iTunes.
We will certainly returning to Yountville, if only to stay here again.

A really nice boutique hotel, contemporary antmosphere, and very very friendly, attentive, helpful staff. We liked our room which had a nice steam shower, bubble-​tub, outdoor shower and private outdoor dining and sitting area. The grounds were nice with each of the pods of rooms having it’s own theme and outdoor setting/​décor. Check in was super nice, a glass of wine and a guided tour to our room.
The room décor was nice, contemporary, nice layout, lots of space. I’d say it was a little worn, with some bumps and bruises and nicks and scratches that gave you the impression it is almost time for a renovation (opened in 2009).
We had two issues while there. First, we ordered in-​room dining and figured we’d eat outside. In the middle of our meal, we were somewhat alarmed when the guests in the next room apparently went out for dinner and left their very angry Doberman on their patio. The dog was barking quite aggressively at us, sticking head under the partition and it looked like it might try to get under. We called the desk and they apologized profusely offered to move us and sent over a bottle of cab. Eventually they contacted the owner and moved them away (other guests complained as well the dog was barking loudly for some time). The other issue was the AC made a clunking noise when cycling off. We didn’t think to mention it to the front desk, I’m sure they would have offered to move us but we were settled in.
I’ll review Lucy separately, we had lunch there (very good) and in-​room dining (also very good).
The hotel is somewhat exclusive and due to location is going to run on the expensive side but it definitely gives the feeling of being worth the premium when you consider the amenities and great staff.

We have stayed at the best hotels around the globe. At this price point, this place does not fully deliver.
CONS: The experience is akin to staying in an office building… The bedrooms are small. The materials are sub standard. The furnishings are of low quality. The rooms are showing wear and tear. The breakfast selections are marginal. The work out area is one of the worst I have seen.
PROS: The in town location is outstanding near fine dining, etc… The restaurant is quite good for dinner. While the quality of the food is good, however the space can get very noisy, particularly when they seat large rowdy groups at the table in the middle of restaurant… so much for a relaxing quiet dinner experience…
I understand the property was recently sold. Perhaps the new owners will fix it up.

We recently stayed there for my wife’s birthday. Bardessano is almost as good as it gets for any high end boutique hotel — better than big names like Mandarin Oriental or Ritz Carlton in terms of services and comfort. The staffs were friendly. The spa is top notch and the swimming pool and pools side cabana is simply amazing.
Our only complain, which we communicated to the staff and the manager in charge at the time when we stayed, is that there is an error on their website regarding the stone tub in regular ADA King sized spa room. It’s our first time visiting Bardessono and all of us were excited about the outdoor stone tub as we love the feeling of taking a hot warm bath outdoor during the night. It’s something similar to the popular outdoor onsen in those high end boutique hotels in Japan.
To our disappointment, we were told the outdoor tub is only available for ADA Steam Spa room and the manager insisted there is no mistake on their website. However, after coming back, I checked their website again, and it DOES say the regular king size ADA room has the stone tub.

The Bardessano is an urban, eco friendly hotel with comfortable beds. By no means is this a resort but a nice place to spend the night for a visit to the valley. The service was friendly but not overly accommodating. The room service never responded to my «messages» (no one answered) and I had to go to the front desk if I needed any help. We couldn’t even use the pool or jacuzzi after sunset.
I have paid around the same price to stay at hotels such as the Mandrin Oriental, Aman Resorts and the Four Seasons. This hotel is not even close to those categories. At $ 200 – 300 a night I would say, if you are staying in Yountvile consider the Bardessano.
At over $ 900 a night I left with an awful feeling the hotel fell short on service and quality and I would not recommend the hotel. We were there witha group of several couples celebrating a 50^th birthday and they did very little to make our group feel special aside from leaving us all with the feeling we’d been price gauged.

That’s a fantastic hotel with a very amazing and unique landscape design. They have a very nice pool but we didn’t get a chance to swim but you try to not missing it ;)

My wife and I stayed here the night I proposed and I just visited again recently with family, From top to bottom the most comfortable, welcoming, relaxing experience. A short walk from most of Yountville, with a luxury hotel shuttle (Lexus hybrid) for anything in town if the wife has non-​walking shoes on.
The Bellman are so friendly and well mannered, Ryan and Nick were particularly exceptional. They weren’t just willing to help, but constantly looking for ways to make our stay better.
Bardessono truly is Eco-​friendly Luxury without sacrificing on the luxury. With all the destination dining in the area, it’s easy to forget about the restaurant in-​house, Lucy. Do not miss it, whether for a top quality dinner walking distance from your room, or just enjoying an order of the BEST ONION RINGS EVER fountain side at the beautiful outdoor seating for an afternoon snack with a drink.
If you are looking to splurge for a special occasion, this is the place. You feel like you are in a private sanctuary, but within walking distance of some of the best food and wine in the world.

I have stayed here twice (once for my birthday, the other for Valentine’s day) and both times this hotel has blown me away with it’s service, cleanliness, top notch amenities and spacious rooms.
Location: This location is amazing. If you want to explore Yountville, it’s walking distance to everything that matters. It’s close to Bottega, Bouchon, Redd, Ad Hoc, French Laundry etc. It’s around a 7 min walk to Ad Hoc, and literally behind Bouchon Bakery.
Hotel: The staff is super sweet! Upon arrival, you are greeted warmly by the staff and they offer you a sparkling glass of champagne. On our first stay, my boyfriend and I got to drive one of their Lexus cars for a few hours and we got to explore the area. Bikes are also free of charge to rent and the staff also is able to drop you off at any winery and pick you up.
Room: The rooms were perfect. Each room is minimally a suite and comes with an adjoining bathroom area (spacious) with a hot tub, shower (that’s also a steam room), and outdoor shower. There is also a fireplace, a pullout couch (great for families) and outdoor patio. I would prefer the rooms farther away from the pool, as it gets a little loud during the day when they’re shuffling the pool chairs around. However, the two rooms below the pool have the two only outdoor shower where you can shower when it’s raining (!).
Lucy: Their restaurant Lucy is great! My boyfriend and I both tried their dinner and breakfast –service and food quality was awesome/​tasty.
Bardessono is romantic and beautiful, with top notch service and perfectly located in Yountville. I would definitely come back whenever we decide to stay in Yountville again for the weekend!

The bf and I had a really fun stay at Bardessono but couldn’t help playing a bit of the comparison game during our time there. We had previously done a staycation at Carneros Inn and found that we much preferred Carneros to Bardessono in almost every way.
But first and foremost, here are the highlights of Bardessono:
1. The room was modern, chic, luxurious and came with a cute patio and an in-​room spa tub
2. The in-​room couples massage was really relaxing and well-​done
3. The service was friendly and welcoming
4. The grounds are beautiful and very downtown chic as Bardessono is located in downtown Yountville
5. The bike rentals were great (I learned how to ride a bike here for the first time! Yes, that’s hugely embarrassing but better late than never, right?)
I wasn’t a huge fan of the food options w/​in Bardessono. Lucy was too stuffy and the food was very mediocre. However, it wasn’t a deterrent because of the downtown location. We just walked to several other acclaimed restaurants nearby (Ad Hoc, Bouchon, Bistro Jeanty, Bottega and Redd).
So why was Carneros Inn better, you ask? All of my bullet points from 1 – 5 was executed better. The rooms at Carneros felt more intimate, romantic and cozy with a huge outdoor living space versus Bardessono’s tiny patio. The massages we received were better at Carneros. The service was great in both places but a smidge better in Carneros. The grounds were much more vast, scenic and gorgeous in Carneros and the bike rental option was available there too.
All in all, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Bardessono and would have probably attributed 5 stars to the experience had we not have stayed in Carneros Inn beforehand.

I went here for a half day wellness talk and this place is just so beautiful.
The breakfast was yummy and healthy, I cant believe how tasty healthy things can be.
The staffs here are beyond compare… they are amazing, respectful, kind and just lovely lovely people…
They have my favorite toilets in the world…
I love to travel all over, and their computerized toilet is what I encountered in japan 15 years ago… and still lovin it…
The garden tour (thank you Chef) was informative, fun and not to mention yummy…
Overall, yes, this place can be pricey, but I believe its worth it.
