We are the peninsula’s premier Brazilian Jiu-​Jitsu academy with one of the area’s ONLY black belts, Ben Eaton.

Ben began studying Brazilian Jiu-​Jitsu in 1997 and in 2009 was the 6^th American to be promoted to the rank of black belt by 6X BJJ World Champion, Saulo Ribeiro.

The Jiu-​Jitsu Institute, RJJA– Yorktown offers several classes a day, six days a week, with programs for adults as well as children.

History

Established in 2010.

Ben became an instructor with the Ribeiro Jiu-​Jitsu Association in 2005 operating the only RJJA affiliate in Indiana. In 2010, Ben’s and his wife Heidi were relocated due to Heidi being active duty military to Virginia and now call Newport News home.

Ben opened the doors to RJJA– Yorktown in December 2010 and has continued to pursue to be the top BJJ academy in the Hampton Roads area.

Ben began training in Brazilian Jiu-​Jitsu in 1997 and became a Ribeiro Jiu-​Jitsu Association instructor in 2005 through a friendship that was fostered with Saulo and Xande Ribeiro since 2000. Ben was the owner/​head instructor of Ribeiro Jiu-​Jitsu Association-​South Bend and was the only Ribeiro Jiu-​Jitsu affiliate operating in Indiana before relocating to Virginia in September 2010.
