Specialties
Richardson Rescue, located in York, SC, is a non-profit animal adoption agency dedicated to preserving the sanctity of animal life. We find forever homes for every pet that comes to us. We strive to give owners a better education on pet care and prevent pet neglect/abuse. Richardson Rescue is dedicated to working with other Rescues to streamline efforts to help save more animals. These efforts, i.e. transporting animals, eliminating duplication of expenses, and providing a low cost Spay/Neuter program for those that can’t afford it, have resulted in a substantial reduction of unwanted pets and animal control euthanasia rates. Richardson Animal Rescue is a 501C3, non profit, publicly funded rescue. In 2011, Richardson Rescue adopted 400 pets to wonderful forever homes, spayed/neutered 127 pets in our Community, and well as helped 150 pet owners with medical care for their own pets.
History
Established in 2003.
Richardson Rescue was started in 2003 by Janet Richardson. Janet relocated from New York where she managed a company with over 200 employees for 15 years. She began volunteer work for various animal agencies after arriving in the York County area. With high expectations for animal rights, spay/neuter and education, Janet began building what has now become one of the largest and finest onsite rescues in the area.
