Recycled Reader offers a selection of more than 50,000 used paperbacks, in a wide variety of categories — sold at half price; and a small selection of hardcovers — priced at $ 10 or less. We buy used textbooks as part of a national textbook buyback network. Our trade-​in service allows to exchange books you bring in for credit which may be used toward the purchase of other books. In addition we offer free bookmarks, a teachers’ discount program, gift and credit certificates and support to community events. Cash, check and credit card payments are accepted. History

Established in 1992.

The idea to start our own used book store grew from visiting a similar type store while on vacation in St. Augustine, Fl. We saw it as a business we could start up and run without a huge initial investment. The rest, as they say, is history. After acquiring books for approximately a year and a half we opened in a 1,000 square foot space in a strip mall on the west side of York. When we outgrew that space in 1995 we moved to our current location on the east side of York city. Our store now has 2,000 square feet, more than 50,000 volumes and free parking. We still feature the same friendly, helpful and personal service and would love to have the opportunity and pleasure of serving you.
