History

Established in 1993.

In 1993, Mark Tucci, one of the founders of Planet RYO, had the vision to see the the changing habits of the modern smoker and their desire to have an alternative to the high priced, chemically laden packaged cigarettes. With that focus, he and his wife Frances opened their first store and began developing their proprietary brand of no fillers-​100% tobacco RYO blends that are formulated to be better versions of most major cigarette brands. Their blends are all natural and many are 100% additive free. Planet RYO is the exclusive retailer of the full line of 15 Custom Blends tobaccos® and offers the largest selection of blends, tubes and supplies in the market. The shops also carry a large selection or cigars, hookah tobaccos, true pipe tobaccos, vape supplies, gifts and all smoking related apparatus.

The success of the business model led to the development of a franchise system and the company currently has 8 prospering stores in Pennsylvania and franchises are available.
