Was there a few months ago and forgot to write a review. The food here is just superb. Way better than almost any other Asian resto in the Hbg/York area.

Impressive. We went early and the service was great. Miso soup, a few rolls. Very impressed with the flavor, quality, and service. Decent ambiance. Will return!

It’s rare for a place who tries to do many things well to do many things well, but Okini actually pulls it off. The menu was a juxtaposition of traditional«Americanized» Asian foods(Chinese, Japanese, Thai, Malaysian, Hawaiian) and sushi… and everything we had was very good. I ordered the Philadelphia rolls and the Shrimp Tempura rolls. Both were fresh, well-assembled, and flavorful. My $ 8.95 dinner combination(cheap!) had egg-drop soup which was quite nice(ask for white pepper to add, trust me) and a hot crisp spring roll, and the main dish, kung pao shrimp, was very nice as well. My mother’s General Tso’s was equally good. Lots of tasty food for a very reasonable price at a convenient location. Pretty happy about this place…

Went for lunch last week. Great prices and loads of food. The menu has a little bit of everything, and it’s priced right. I had Grandpa Chicken, husband had Malaysian Chicken Curry. Service and food were wonderful.

What a great variety and quality, too. Sushi, Chinese, Thai and more served up with style.

Woke up to dan’s review of Okini II and I just had to go down and try it for lunch. You simply can not beat 3 rolls, miso and salad for $ 10 and it lived up to everything its big brother has up in Harrisburg. Nice fresh fish and amazing staff. I mean really amazing staff. I went in on a not so busy late lunch hour and they chatted to me about their delivery service which will bring sushi right to your door or workplace(fantastic) and honoring sushi delivery specials which are a steal in my opinion. My rolls were very well presented, really enjoyed how fresh the salad and miso was and all and all you can not beat the price. Spicy rolls contained more chopped pieces of fish than minced and generous portions. They also made me a complimentary marinated squid starter which was delicious!

Okini has a second location in York that has been open for a month and a half now, in what was formerly the Golden Dragon. It’s in the Kingston Plaza in east York. It was well worth the trip. This branch is ran by the same boss who ran Gobo & Okini in Harrisburg. There is a coupon in the Clipper Magazine, so that helps. Lunch specials are 6.75 and there are many take out specials as well. They serve Sushi, Thai, Malaysian and chinese dishes. As an appetizer we had the Satay Ayam(6.00), which is five pieces of grilled chicken in a spicy peanut sauce w/onions & cucumber. We had Grandfather Chicken(6.75), which came with fried rice, hot & sour soup, a very fresh spring roll. We also tried the Black Basil Beef(6.75) which came with fried rice, wonton soup and a spring roll. They had a sushi lunch special any three rolls for 10.00, we tried the spicy tuna, spicy salmon and eel & avacado roll. It tasted very fresh, on par with the store in harrisburg. Spicy mayo always does the trick for me here. Great lunch for under 30 dollars. The Malaysian dishes arent to be missed! BYOB, cash & credit and delivery available. Note Okini closed in spring of 2010 and is currently called Wild GInger”
