Crystal’s Custom Cakes

(06÷13÷15) We bought our wedding cake from Lynn (Crystals Custom Cakes). The first meet up was very hard to plan; every time we would schedule, she would have to cancel, she said because of her children needing to go places and because there were two deaths in the family. I completely understood, no issues with rescheduling. Once we tasted the samples we were in awe! The sample cupcakes were moist, delicious, and very good! I wanted a surprise grooms cake because my husband loves to golf, so I paid her to make a grooms cake; which turned out to not be a surprise because when we finalized the order she blurted that out (no big deal).
The day of the wedding, she was late bringing both cakes, and she never put the flowers or cake topper on the wedding cake; she asked me to have everything sitting on the table for her to place on… I had the pre– cut roses for the cake, and the cake topper laying on our heart shaped table. She moved that to the side and never put it on. We ordered a 5 tier wedding cake (not including the grooms cake) that will serve 150 people.
When it was time to cut the cake my husband and I had the hardest time. We paid to have a filling in each layer of the wedding cake. We finally cut the first slice, and when we went to «feed it» to each other it crumbled all over the floor!!! !!! None of the cake was on us, or in our mouth. The cake was dry as heck, there wasn’t any filling in any tier, and my guests were complaining saying it was the worst ever, and that I could have done a lot better if I made it myself. (I bake all the time, however I wouldn’t of had time to make our wedding cake with everything going on.) Luckily the venue had ice cream, so my guests could eat that.
Oh and thankfully the cake wasn’t any good because there wasn’t enough for all of my guests anyway! My parents said about 20 people didn’t get cake, and we only had 130 people at our wedding; she said the cake fed 150, not including the grooms cake.
Last issue– SHE HAD THE AUDACITY TO LEAVE HER BUSINESS CARDS ON OUR CAKE TABLE FOR PEOPLE TO PICK UP. I’ve tried calling and e-​mailing and she never responds. Worst customer service and cake ever!
Providence Cakes at the Tollgate Plaza is 100% better! I highly recommend them and NOT Crystal’s Custom Cakes
