I’m stubborn when it comes to paying to get my hair professionally colored because of disappointing results in the past but I’m so glad I went to Karina. She gave me exactly what I wanted. I hate when my hair goes brassy, which it has a tendency to do since it is so dark. I had a hot mess of uneven orangey hair going on and I was worried she’d say the ombré I wanted was impossible and I’d be doomed to go back to my natural black hair. But magically she made the color turn out lovely. I can’t wait to go back and get it done again. And she didn’t make me feel embarrassed about the state of my hair when I came in, which some hairstylists have a tendency to do. She also gave me a great cut that still has my hair looking good the next day after I’ve slept on it. That’s how you know it’s a good one!
Oh yeah and get the Olaplex treatment if you’re bleaching your hair to protect it. It’s worth the extra little bit of money.

I keep going back to the Vanity Room for Missy T. She is so sweet and we always have a great time but most of all she does the best color and cut. I have extentions and she matches them perfectly. I always leave there feeling like a Beauty queen. I look forward to getting my hair done by Missy cause we get to hang out and I feel great when I leave. Girls always feel great when they get there hair done. Especially when is done so we’ll. Thanks Missy.

Shelly (the owner), sadly I would say, you are not a curl specialist by any means. I know from personal experience and following Lorraine Massey’s curly girl method, how a Devacut should proceed and how curly hair should be styled – however I regrettably decided not to correct you while you did your job out of politeness.
You should NEVER cut curly hair dry IF it has been pulled up, pulled back, brushed, or styled in ANYWAY that prohibits you from seeing the natural pattern of the curls. I came in with a tight bun (I had called earlier in the morning and was told I could be seen later in the day.) I mentioned my hair was in a tight bun over the phone because I was willing to schedule for another day if she was not planning to cut my hair wet. I was told that this would not be a problem.
After snipping away at my hair, my hair was washed and then dried WITH A TOWEL! Another no-​no! By the time Shelly started styling my hair, my ends were already drying (sopping wet curls are needed to allow them to form their ringlets!) She did not comb through it (finger detangle or wide tooth comb) and went directly to applying gel. You should never dry curly hair with a towel let alone start loading it up with gel! There was no leave-​in or moisture applied to my hair until I mentioned it and then it was applied after a bunch of gel had been put in my hair! Putting gel straight into someone’s hair without some sort of detangling in addition to adding moisture back to the hair, is only going to leave curls matted and dry! This is common knowledge to any curl specialist!
My entire head of hair was twisted and pinned to my head and I was put under an old-​school, high-​heat dryer for at least 20 mins. AGAIN, manipulating curls, as if you are setting curls for straight hair under high heat, are NO-NO’S for naturally curly hair! I was then taken out from under the dryer and the clips were removed without much attention (baby-​hairs were caught in the clip and yanked out). At this point I looked like I had just woken up from a night of tossing and turning in bed!
I told, Shelly, I was not happy with the style and told her that this looked NOTHING like my natural curl pattern (obviously, my curls had been dried out and manipulated so much they had no bounce and laid limp). She then agreed to rinse and wash my hair and start over on the styling – which I appreciated, as she saw I was not happy at all with how it looked.
My hair was washed and lightly dried with the towel leaving it much wetter, but she again began applying gel. I then mentioned that my hair needed a leave-​in or it dries out too much. This time a diffuser was used, unfortunately on the highest heat, which at times was uncomfortable, and after backing away from it several times, she lowered the heat. She had no idea how to diffuse curly hair and kept waving it back and forth like you would normally dry straight hair. This created a bunch of frizz over the top of my head! All of this heat is HORRIBLE for fine curly hair! I know you want to move on to other clients, but you need to lower the heat, slowly place the diffuser in one place, and leave it stationary for a short period of time!
By the end of the experience, I pretty much had to take control of the styling. And while I am not a hair stylist, these are basic styling steps that any woman with curly hair knows! I am really shocked that she had the audacity to charge $ 75 for a mediocre haircut and styling job that required me to take charge of in order to be able to walk out of her salon without looking like I rolled out of bed!
I don’t doubt that Shelly is great at what she does, but cutting and styling curly hair are not her strong points at all.
*She is not a registered Devacurl stylist (nowhere did she have that certification, and she is not listed on the official website). Carrying the products in your shop and watching videos on how to cut curly hair do not qualify you to call yourself a Devacut specialist nor a curl specialist!

I’ve been coming to see Lisa C. for years now! She is amazingly talented and such a sweetheart! The vanity room is always clean and the staff is very friendly! If you need a good hair stylist. come see Lisa!

It was not very good experience at the beginning as when I begin to discuss for changing my hair colour I found a Philippine girl called Messy she was very strange and can’t understand anything she told me I can’t do it for you as your hair is damaged! I really got astonished of what she said she needs to force me that I either cut my hair or she can’t do it as my hair is damaged I told her not your business I need to change my hair colour u will not give me tips I am not at a hospital we went together to manager but she can’t do nothing with her but she found me another girl called Britney she was very nice helpful at the beginning she can’t get my colour but after I told her she got it and she is picky and patient girl over all is not very good experince but Britney was really good girl it will not my first choice as hairdresser in the future but may be I will go again

I must say I was very please with my visit to this salon. For starters I am not from the area, I was only in town for work purposes. I just asked Siri for the nearest salon and this one and a few others popped up I chose this because of the name. I called them on last minute notice for a full set of acrylics and they agreed to take me right away. When I showed up shortly after ending the call i walked into the salon and immediately loved the ambiance and décor of this salon. Elaina saw me right away. She did my nails exactly how I asked for them to be done, I know that could be hard to do with new clients. she was considerate of time, considering I was only on my lunch break from work. I love the end result of my nails and I must say this is the longest my acrylics have ever lasted, usually I have a missing nail and a few broken ones by the time the 3^rd week rolls around. Mine are still on tight and just need a fill. I’ll try to post some pics of them

Shelly Elliott does an incredible Deva Curl Cut! I’ve been au natural (curly) for 3 months now and I’m loving it so much! It fits better with my personality and I spend less time getting ready (& my hair is healing from the 20 years of the «Rachel» hair do). Thank you Shelly! I should have done this years ago!

Brittany Summers is so awesome! I’m a tired mom who relies heavily on pictures to explain what I want and Brittany always nails it! Especially, today! I was able to get a sitter last minute and Brittany got me in for a cut and color. I left feeling like a million bucks! Thanks so much, Brittany! I’ll be referring as many people as I can to you!

This review is for my all time favorite stylist Teresa Prado. She is the best stylist and I always go to her for my hair needs. She has been coloring and cutting my hair for years and I wouldn’t have it any other way. This is why I drive all the way from Victorville to have Teresa take care of my hair. She always makes time to fit me in her schedule and I highly recommend her.

Missy cut my hair and I love my new hair color and cut! She did exactly what I asked for. I wanted to darken my hair back its natural color and get an all-​around layered cut.
Missy took her time and did a really good job. I have a ton of hair, so most stylists kinda get lazy and really start lathering on the hair dye towards the end, but not Missy. She took her time and she painstakingly colored my hair correctly. I really appreciated that. I love the layers that she cut into my hair.
She’s got a great attitude and made my visit to the Vanity Room awesome. I definitely recommend Missy!

Looked like a robot cut my hair. In the past I have had nice haircuts here, however the spectrum of stylists that are good and stylists that are not is too wide for me to come back.

My wife, son, daughter, and I have been getting our hair done at the Vanity Room for a number of years now. At first, it was simply a matter of convenience because we lived nearby in Yorba Linda, but even after moving to Corona last year, we still find ourselves coming back.
The salon is set up as numerous individual stylists who rent space to work there, but the pricing has always been pretty consistent from person to person. Whether we’re just getting a cut & style for the kids and I or a full color, cut, and style for my wife, the pricing is remarkably reasonable compared to other salons I’ve frequented in the past.
Regarding the stylists, though we’ve had a few come and go over the years, I’m happy to say the quality of service has still remained consistently high. I always enjoy a good chat during my cuts, and I’ve never been disappointed, though if you prefer to sit in awkward silence, I haven’t seen anything that would indicate that isn’t ok too. All the stylists have been particularly great with my kids, and while my kids are very well-​behaved, it’s still nice to know that my kids aren’t in the hands of severe emo stylists that pretend they never acted like kids
All in all, the vanity room is a great choice for hair styling in the Yorba Linda/​Anaheim Hills area. My family and I will probably be going there for years to come.

Went here yesterday! I was a walk-​in and was being worked on within 5 min. of getting there. My hair stylist was Renee and she was great. I absolutely love the hair cut I got. Super personable experience and already booked my next appointment!

Five stars for this salon. First of all great service, everyone is super friendly. I also love that they offer coffee and tea while you get your hair done. I have Jen do my hair. She will make sure that you get exactly what you want :) She takes walk ins so be sure to ask for her when you go!

Worst manicure I’ve ever had! First off, the manicurist showed up late… What salon doesn’t have a manicurist scheduled until 11am? Then while I was having my nails done, the lady just kept apologizing to me. «I’m sorry I cut you, I’m sorry your nail smugged, I’m sorry!» It was like it was her first time doing nails! I left the salon, money wasted, with glue, gel and polish all over the tips of my fingers. I will never return and would not recommend this place to anyone! Ladies beware!

I came in today for the first time to receive my VERY FIRST DEVACUT for my 25^th Birthday today after finding this salon under the MyDevaCurl website searching for «find a stylist». I had extremely damaged/​fried after years of dying and using heat tools. Shelly the salon owner and DevaCut specialist did my DevaCut and style while Jen cleansed and conditioned my hair.
I am extremely happy with the results and My overall experience with the salon, everyone was extremely welcoming (and understanding of my 21 month old son who was grouchy in the beginning lol). Shelly was so gentle and made me feel so relaxed because she truly understands the struggles curly girls go through!
I will definitely be returning for a follow up cut later in the year, but I am so happy I can’t express enough lol I have officially started my curly hair journey! My hair feels so healthy and strong and just soooo light and HAPPY! I highly recommend you check this salon out and recommend other curly girls!

I was referred to this salon by a friend. I wanted to get extensions put in for length and I needed a person who had the expirience and understood my needs. I had the pleasure of having Lisa C. A hairstylist at the salon use her expertise and make me look amazing! She was able to match my color and trim the hair making it look so natural! Definitely happy with my hair and the quality! The place is so welcoming and the front end of the salon is very friendly and attentive.
