I bought a groupon deal for bodywraps in which I able to book my appointments online right after the purchase. When I arrived at this place for my first appointment @ 8:30AM, the place was closed. About 15 minutes later, one of the hairstylist arrived and didnt know about my appointment, but she quickly made phone calls and Julie showed up right away. I was told that someone had called me to change my appointment because they don’t do 8:30 appts. After the wrap I had a voicemail message, received at 8:50 letting me know of this isssued. So, in reality the I was notify after the appointment that no one was going to be there. On my second appointment at 9:30AM on a Saturday, ONCE AGAIN no one was there. I called the number on the window and left a message, and NOBODY called me back !!! I decided to called the number on the message left during my first appointment, but i only left a message because nodoby answered. I finally got a call back from Trisha (the manager) a week later. She supposely rearranged my appointment per my request and was supposed to send me an email to confirm, NEVER got this email, instead i got an email cancelling a previous appoint that she supposely didnt see in her appointment systems. HUH!!! Couple of days before my third appointment, I called and emailed Trisha couple of times questing an email as confirmation of alll my following appointments. But, she never replied nor called back… So, I decided to just showed up for my 3^rd appointment, and ONCE AGAIN, NOBODY was there!!! I called her while stading outside this place and was very very surprised she answered my call. She said didnt know why my friday appointment was booked for thursday, but they had changed it to saturday morning becuase that was my original request. Thanks but no thanks for fulfilling my request, but it would of been nice to notify me of the change.
Julie (I believe she is a flight attendant) is very nice and helpful, but too bad the Salon’s mananger Trisha is so irresponsible. I will be requesting a full refund and hope that I dont have any issues because I dont feel like waiting weeks to hear a lame excuse from the manager.

I bought a Groupon to this spa… after several attempts to phone them, reach them, and multiple voicemails (due to no answers) I finally gave up! No one ever returned my calls, I even sent a message through their site etc. Now my Groupon is expired (as of 1÷5÷14) and thank God for Groupon refunds or I would be out $ 65+!!! Much better spas out there that actually want new clients

Been coming here for 5 years now and it has changed my life and is easy on my budget. Colonics are done in a quiet cozy dim lit room, yummy candle scent helps relax you. Julie is so knowledgable about holistic health, products for skin and internal detoxing etc. I also do the ionic foot bath and it is something you have to try for yourself to see and feel benefits. I love that its a private cozy spa so there’s not a ton of people all over the place. Don’t walk– RUN here!

Salon never answers the phone. I have left several messages on their voice mail and nobody has returned my calls. It has been 2 weeks now.

I came here with Groupon for a Body wrap, I didn’t really know what to expect in regards of the place. When I arrived was kinda hesitant because Le Cheveu Salon & Spa is tucked in a old strip mall in Yorba Linda.
Anyway I decided to go in and Oh surprise! what a cute place! nice, neat and well decorated, very girly =)
I had to fill some paperwork and Julie proceed to wrap me as a mommy with some bandages infused in herbal essences. The smell was delicious! the next step was lay under an electric blanket. Very relaxing…
Julie is great, super nice and friendly, also very knowledgeable about holistic/​natural aesthetics. I ended up getting a package of 6 body wraps.
I really recommend this body wraps, aside of its detoxing effect, Julie customized the herbal mixture, in my case with arnica and magnesium due to my back/​leg issues. Awesome!
The next thing I’m going to try in Le Cheveu is a facial =)
Of course I’ll be back =)

I bought the body wrap and scrum– It was hard to get an appointment, NO ONE ever answers the phone, and take a while to get back to your voicemails, I had to leave a couple before someone called me back (I should have listen to the fellow Unilocalers and wasted my money here) this place is really small and unprofessional. I arrived a bit early for my appointment, waiting a while for someone to greet me and provide paperwork to complete. I was taken to the room for the Body Wrap, then somewhat forgotten. The wrap was a somewhat pleasant experience. At the end of the warp I was given an old robe to put, as I walk from the body wrap room, to the body scrum room– I front of waiting guests, people getting their hair cut… the scrub was okay, took shower after in dark odd shower…
I thought I guess this place is okay for the body wrap NOT the scrub. next time I’ll just say no scrub… I made an appointment, then I was called to reschedule because she «double booked». I tried calling and calling and calling to schedule an appointment… left several voicemails … no calls back… No second appointment, and now my group is now expired…
This place is NOT a spa and does NOT have a spa feeling, when the middle of the room is full of hair cut stations.
Waste of money and time…
I suggest you do listen to the UnilocalERS advise on this one… and don’t buy!

Be careful buying a Groupon for this location as you may find yourself unable to redeem. I too purchased on Living Social, anxious to try something new and was never able to make a reservation. My friend and I both left numerous phone messages and finally received an email saying they were too booked with people trying to redeem. We even went to the location, which is tiny, to discuss scheduling. The attendant was unable to help us and suggested we call the manager. Living Social would not refund the deal and our offers expired. Buyer beware…

I bought a great groupon deal for this place (I think it was like 5 sessions for about $ 125). This place is amazing. Julie is so great! I went in a couple weeks ago for a body wrap. Never had one so had no clue what to expect. She explained to me the different types she offered and I decided to jump-​start the process by doing an upgraded body wrap (Jade & Ginseng Slimming Inch Loss Body Wrap) and also upgraded to a mini upper back and head massage. For those of you who are not used to being in the heat, it can get really hot, so you just have to let Julie know when you’ve reached your max. She’ll for sure take care of you and make you as comfortable as can be. I do a lot of hot yoga so I was used to it and loved it. After I was all done with my session, she gave me some pre mixed drinks to take with me to help hydrate me and replenish me with vitamins.
I went in again last week for my second appt with Julie for the detox wrap and scrub. It was great and I really worked up a sweat. And ohh the scrub was amazing. I’ve never really had any skin issues and always had nice soft skin, at least so I’ve been told ;) But oh my, after the scrub, my skin felt beautifully soft.
During each of my appts Julie was great. She was fun to talk to. She is very knowledgeable about being healthy. You can tell just by looking at her that she lives a healthy lifestyle herself and takes care of herself. She does the same for her clients. She was very attentive and very courteous. Her place is so cute and quaint. It always smells warm and inviting. I love all the candles she uses. I actually went after one of my appts to buy the same candles :)
I have 3 more sessions left on my groupon voucher. But as soon as I use it up, I’ll for sure keep coming back to this place.
Don’t let any of the negative reviews fool you. You gotta come and check out this spa. If you don’t, you’ll be missing out. And if anything is bugging you or you are uncomfortable, just politely speak up and Julie will come to your rescue :)

5-​star review based on my WONDERFUL haircut by Cyndi and eyebrow wax by… the woman who does the waxing. Forgot her name… Oops.
I’ve been going to Cyndi for haircuts for YEARS, and she always does an amazing job. I’ve followed her from salon to salon, and Le Cheveu is an adorable salon (in a less-​than-​adorable shopping center). I never get my hair colored, but I’ve seen her coloring work on some of my friends and my mom, and it always looks AMAZING and natural!
I have super-​thick hair, and this time I wanted it cut REALLY short. Cyndi’s always been great about pulling out a magazine or two to help get ideas. Everything is always perfect!
I also wanted to get my eyebrows waxed during this last visit, and they squeezed me in before the waxing lady’s next appointment. My brows looked PERFECT, and the eyebrow waxing was great because the woman also gave me tips on how to pluck and maintain my eyebrows. Apparently I’d been overplucking and didn’t even know. So helpful! I also appreciate the advice on plucking instead of demanding that I pay for waxing every couple weeks.

I got the Living Social Deal last year:
1. They do not answer the phone
2. Can’t leave a message, it is always full
3. Can’t fill out the appt form on line, it give me an error
4. Emailed the owner, got a response giving me options, I replied 3 times and never got a reply back
This is the MOST unprofessional business I have ever come in contact with… do NOT recommend!

I also purchased the Living Social deal. I also called multiple times with no response. This was just recently, well after the deal was first offered, so I can’t imagine they would still be overwhelmed by the huge response from the deal.
I came to Unilocal to check reviews, and found that everyone was having this problem. So I also got a refund through Living Social.

I came here because I bought the Living Social deal with a Facial, body wrap and aromatherapy.
Scheduling an appointment was a little more difficult than I would like, but is understandable because they are a small salon/​spa and have been trying very hard to accommodate all the people who bought Living Social Deals. Try calling them and if you don’t get through, just send them a message on their website
They are good with responding within a few days. You’ll also get a confirmation email for your appointment once it’s made.
The salon itself is very small. There are two rooms where they can do the facial and body wrap, so if you’re making appointments with friends, you can only do it with one other person. The rooms are decorated with lights and vines and was quite charming. Soft classical music plays in the background and you definitely smell the aromatherapy scents during your session. Very relaxing!
Amanda was my facialist and she was very friendly. She’s young (college student) and is blessed with beautiful skin. Going in the room, you’ll be asked to undress, but they give you disposable panties to wear for your body wrap and you cover your breasts with a towel. Before the wrap, she gave me a quick arm and leg massage then loosely wrapped me up in plastic and placed a heated blanket on me. At first I didn’t even feel the heat, but then I started to feel sweat dribble from different parts of my body. It felt good.
The facial itself was relaxing too. She was gentle and talked about my skin care needs. Don’t let the age fool you, she’s quite knowledgeable in skin care and will give you some pointers. Extractions are not included in the deal, so I just paid an extra $ 8 for it. They also have different mask upgrades you can do, but they’re not pushy about it if you don’t want it. Shoulder and neck messages were good, but she could’ve been a little stronger. I was just too relaxed to say anything.
At the end of it, you just wipe all the sweat off and you’re on your way, glowing from all the pampering. Great experience!

I too purchased through livingsocial for this great deal for a facial and body wrap of $ 19. And it did started out a little unpleasant…
To start, I made my first appointment and everything was fine. Until my facialist did not show up. I waited for 30 minutes and left two voicemail and a hard copy note through the door. Having the benefit of the doubt, I tried to be optimistic and thought that maybe the facial person slept in or got into a car accident. Eh, as long as I got a call back, then we’ll figure it out, right?
After two weeks, no return call…
At this point, I was very frustrated. But decided to call again to see what’s going on. I got a hold of the owner of the business, Julie, and she made sure that i was taken care of right away. This was new news to Julie and she was not aware of it, maybe her workers couldve slept in and forgot about me, and didnt want to get in trouble with the big boss. Maybe…
So Julie set an appointment with me within the week. She was very professional and accommodating and gave me an «upgrade» of the types of products that was used for the inconvenience of how everything started on my part.
On the outside, it’s a cute little boutique place. When you enter, the hair styling area is very modern. The room that I went into was cozy and clean. There was the facial table and a shower in the corner. I cuddled up and then she applied a skin product on, and wrapped me with the heat blanket cover like. After that she took care of my face and gave me a facial. The facial was refreshing and therapeutic. Cleanse, extract, exfoliate, mask, and lotionize? Maybe a couple more steps that I had forgotten. Once my hour was up, she brought extra towels so that I can rinse off the sweat that I excess during the wrap.
She did sold over 4,000 of these deals and it’s hard to book everyone. But the good thing about it is that it wont expire anytime soon so I had some time. Although I agree that it should have state in the fine lines to book 3 – 4 wks in advance, the owner tries her best to accommodate you.
I am giving this a 4 – 5 star, for the professionalism and accommodating the owner was and how she handled the situation. Yes it did started out unpleasantly … but I think it sucks that the owner would get a poor review based on the negligence of her other workers… but that’s where disciplinary comes in… whoop out the spanking stick and give them a time out! :)

I purchased the living social deal and was unable to use it because I was always led to an answer machine when I would try to make an appointment. I called at least 5 times!!! Seriously PICK UP YOUR PHONE!
I finally called livingsocial today and they said that they’ve received numerous complaints about this business. Also, living social said they don’t give refunds because the business is still open and I purchased the voucher a long time ago… instead they tried to give me credit towards another purchase… RETARDED! So I told them «I don’t plan on purchasing anything else from living social because I’ve had problems with the businesses they sell vouchers for.» So they gave me a 1 time refund… so dumb… STICK TO GROUPON… !!! If I could rate livingsocial, I would give them 1 star too!

I came in this morning to redeem my Living Social deal. (facial/​bodywrap).
I booked my appointment a few days before with ease. I said the days and times I was free and it worked out just fine.
I showed up a little early but I was helped out right away by two really nice girls, the one at the front desk and the one who did my facial. They gave me tips about whats a good mask to upgrade to and I went with their suggestions (the soothing probiotic, $ 12 more but I thought it was worth it).
The exterior of this place is plain and simple. The interior was small and quaint. I liked it, but I’m a really easy-​going person and I don’t need all the pretentiousness that is sometimes found with salons.
The facial/​bodywrap room was small too, but charming. And Amanda (the girl who did my facial) was sweet and explained all the products and advice on how to take care of my skin at home.
Only thing that I could see bothering other people is: that even though the relaxing classical music was on pretty high in the facial room, I could still hear the pop music playing in the salon. I didn’t mind it, but just a heads up.
Overall I enjoyed the whole experience. I was relaxed throughout the hour long session and really relaxed after. AND the best part is that my skin looks fabulous. They said it would be glowing and soft and it actually is. I don’t know how long these results will last but it’s fine with me. Today I loved my skin. So it was a good deal :)

I bought the deal through living social. They set me up with a appointment. It took me a long time to even set up the appointment. Then the day of I called to make sure my appointment was still on. It is a thirty minute drive for me, so I wanted to be sure before I drove that far. I called and the lady told, «O my gosh, i am so sorry, someone should have called you. We are closed for fathers day.» So i said that is totally fine, lets just reschedule. So she made it for the following sunday. I was busy, so i gave my little sister the appointment. She drove all the way to Yorba Linda, NO ONE WAS THERE!!! I was so mad, why would she set me up with appointment when they were closed??? I felt horrible that my sister drove all the way over there just to turn around and come back.
I have been calling the salon for about a month now just trying to speak with anyone. I am just going to get my money back from living social. They refused to ever call me back.

The place doesn’t have a «spa» feel at all. It’s basically a hair salon with a little room where they provide additional services. It felt very DIY — like I could’ve done this at home and gotten the same results. During the whole appointment, I could hear people speaking in the main room of the salon, so it was not relaxing. I didn’t feel refreshed or pampered when I left the salon.
The body wrap was basically putting on lotion & stuffing me in a plastic cover inside an electric blanket. I’ve had body wraps before and this didn’t feel like much. I can go to Texas and sweat out more toxins! The facial was also disappointing. Let me give you this as comparison: the mini facial I got for free at the Origins counter inside Macy’s was better than the facial I got at Le Cheveu. And she completely forgot about the aromatherapy part of the deal. She didn’t even have candles lit or oils burning in the room to enhance the atmosphere. Maybe it’s due to the products used, maybe it’s the person who provided the service, but I’m definitely not going back or recommending this to friends. Either way, I’m glad this cost me only $ 19.

like many of the patrons below, I had bought the livingsocial deal. I was lucky enough to snag up a last minute appointment. If you are looking to redeem your living social voucher, you should try to book your appointment weeks ahead of time, the girl who I booked my appointment with told me that they were fully booked for every weekend through october!
the salon is tiny and they didn’t have a very professional setup, for example the facial steamer they had was the cheap and miniature kind intended for personal use. The woman giving me my facial fiddled with it for a while because the steam wasn’t even coming close to reaching my face and just turned it off and did the facial without steam treatment. She was very inexperienced, and I was a little annoyed by the fact that she kept trying to sell me upgrades on the facial and body wrap every 5 or 10 mins yet she wouldn’t be able to tell me much about what was so great about the upgrades. The facial she gave me was just satisfactory, while it was relaxing it definitely didn’t give me the deep cleanse and hydration i was used to getting from facials. This was my first time doing a body wrap and it didn’t yield any results for me.
I would rather pay full price for a professional facial, with the livingsocial deal you may be just paying a fraction of the price but you’re getting the proportionate fraction of the treatment and results.

What is that overused cliché of a saying? Never judge a book by the cover, yeah that is the one. This place is the epitome of that saying. I had an early morning appointment for a facial and body wrap and I showed up on time but they were late opening up the doors, but it turns out something went wrong and it was totally understandable. I was greeted by the staff and they had me set up in a small room, small but cozy in what seems to be an already small place. I was going to be serviced by a girl named Laura, she seemed a little shy at first but towards the end of our time together she was awesome. I enjoyed all of my time with her and we had plenty of great conversations.
The facial and body wrap I received were awesome and Laura walked me through every step. The staff was so nice and fun.
One thing I will say is that if you have issue about your body or hung up on being naked around someone then maybe getting a body wrap or a true spa day isn’t for you. Just wear a loose fitting dress, some flip-​flops and no under garments and you are golden. Trust me!
