IvyCrest Montessori Private School

We had 2 kids at Ivy Crest from toddler thru kinder, immediately we were impressed with the professionalism of the staff and the curriculum. It served as a great start for their learning fundamentals — all while being a warm welcoming, comfortable environment. We were not just a number– our kids were truly cared for everyday. Could not have been happier — proud to say we were an Ivy Crest family.

We were so thrilled to find not only a fun, safe and educational place for our son but a family. The office staff always greet him and say goodbye to us by all of our names including my father Poppy.
They have activities and the teachers get so involved and excited for celebrations that makes our son so happy and excited for the day’s events too. Well kept classrooms and playgrounds are just another positive thing to say about this school. We visited 5 other schools in the area and none came close to the welcoming we received from Mrs. Gina and the office staff. Make s decision to enroll here and you won’t regret it. Thank you Ivycrest for relieving our fears of leaving our child with your school so we can go to work confident he is safe and in good hands.

I CAN’T SAY ENOUGH HOW AWESOME THIS SCHOOL IS! Both of my sons went to Ivycrest in Yorba Linda, and they LOVED it. The staff is AMAZING. They put so much effort into the kids, and they treat the parents wonderfully! They greet all the kids and parents every day, they are so encouraging and positive. I never once heard them raise their voice, and the classroom is so well run, they don’t need to! The kids are respectful, happy and VERY well taught. My kids were far beyond other kids in terms of academics when they moved to the public school. We miss the teachers greatly. The woman who said her kid was spanked is absolutely nuts and it angers me that she is tarnishing this school’s reviews. My kids never talked about getting in trouble at school. If kids got crazy, the teachers would simply redirect their actions. They never once were yelled at. It’s also fishy that she was in Room 2 yet her kid was in diapers. There are no diapered children allowed in Room 2, so I think that story’s full of crap (pun intended). This the school you’ve looking for, trust me. We tried two other schools and the teachers didn’t care about forming a relationship with parents and they seemed frazzled. We can’t recommend Ivycrest in Yorba Linda enough!

I will lay out the facts. We enrolled our 18 month old son and he attended Ivy Crest Montessori Room 2 in Yorba Linda for a span of 4 months. After 1 week of attending the school he began to spank himself when we would change his diaper, only when we asked him how school was going. He had lived at home with his parents and grandparents for the first 18 months of his life and had never seen or received a spank before. We assumed he may be imitating other children at school, or other kids playing with dolls… this went on for some time and he would say his teacher’s name whenever he would do it. Over 4 weeks off during December our son stopped exhibiting this behavior. and his vocabulary also advanced tremendously. After 1 week of returning to Ivy Crest, he began to spank himself again and say «bad bad bad, no toy» followed by his teacher’s name. The director stated «this can’t possibly be happening, its against the rules. None of the staff have seen anything.» We quickly removed our son from the school and the behavior stopped within 1 week. We also observed that he would say the same name for 3 of the teachers (he couldn’t differentiate them). The diaper room/​bathroom is completely hidden from the observation window for parents. They should have installed a hidden camera in the bathroom. If you dig a little bit more on the web you will find two reviews just like mine — also ask for the incident reports before you enroll your child.

Awesome school! Love the teachers! It feels like one huge supportive family! I highly recommend Ivecrest!
