At Zuppa, we specialize in unique Italian dishes and a beautiful restaurant that you will remember forever. The refined collection of dishes at Zuppa have inspired us during our growth, and we place an emphasis on enjoyment, taste and pairings.

The interior has a warm southern Italian inspired décor set amongst 100 year old brick walls, 14 foot ceilings and original wood floors. In addition to an unbelievable menu, we have an extraordinary bar that is home to hundreds of liquors, artisanal bees, 25 wines by the glass and mixologists. Join us in one of our three beautiful dining rooms for an exquisite meal.

History

Established in 2003.

Opened in March 2003, Zuppa was one of the first projects to spark the development of Yonkers’ Downtown Waterfront District. DaMaRo Resaurant Group Partners created Zuppa out of the old Gazette Newspaper’s Printing Press Warehouse.

The first dining room houses an extraordinary bar, home to hundreds of liquors, an artisinal beer collection, 25 wines by the glass and nightly working mixologists. The second dining room is surrounded by an art collection of local artists.

White clothed tables are served upon by our well trained staff of ambassadors and supervised by a nightly working sommelier. The third dining room is in our wine cellar. Dine in a private room surrounded by a 2,500 bottle collection and flickering candles. Anywhere you happen to be while in Zuppa, we hope you enjoy your experience. Edi Dedi was born into the restaurant business. Zuppa is a family establishment started by three different partners. Edi is part of the management team, and has all of the instincts and savvy required to provide a fantastic restaurant experience for customers. My favorite spot in Yonkers hands down. Very classy elegant place. Cocktails are mixed to perfection and they are very generous with their portions (you basically get two cocktails in one) their pasta is all made in house and scrumptious. But the star of the show is their oxtail. They have pretty regularly as a special and it’s just to die for! Highly recommend this place to anyone who wants some quality fine dinning.

I have been a regular, though not frequent, patron of this restaurant since they opened in downtown Yonkers some years back. I was there last night and was again impressed by how well designed and well run it is. The ambience is elegant yet very comfortable and unpretentious. Tables are well spaced; no crowding or being a captive audience to your neighbors’ conversation. You can speak in a normal volume here – no shouting required. The food and service are consistently spot on and it attracts a very nice crowd. Keep up the great work!

I always enjoy my Food at zuppa, The food is always amazing, fresh and consistently delicious .The homemade pastas are a standout and a must try. The squid ink pasta with seafood and the Nutella ribs are some of my personal favorites. The ambiance is beautiful and theres Elegant service to match. The cocktails are very refreshing as well. They also have a very nice wine list — great choices and reasonable prices.

As I pulled up to the restaurant I noticed a spot where the valet attendants had placed their sign. When asked to move it, he said he didn’t speak English. When asked again in Spanish he said to say it nicely. There after I let him know it’s a public spot and that I could park and then he could put his sign back. He said that if the police asked him to move it he would, but not for me. I spoke to his coworker. He was just as rude. Then they said if I parked there my car would end up scratched up. I put in a complaint to the manager, who seemed genuinely apologetic. However, if that is how you are greeted at the curb I don’t want to know what will happen if I step foot inside.

Amazing service!!! We celebrated my daughter’s communion at Zuppa’s!!! The food is excellent and the service is outstanding. Very accommodating and exceeded expectations. They took care of everything, so I was able to enjoy the party with my family and friends. Would highly recommend this restaurant for any occasion!!!

I’ve been here at least 15 times for both lunch and dinner and every meal has been excellent. They have many interesting takes on Italian dishes, great desserts, and their pizza is delicious too. The service has always been attentive and the ambiance attractive. If driving, I recommend parking in the Buena Vista garage diagonally across the street.

I came here yesterday, during Westchester resturant week with my family. The restaurant was so busy for a Sunday night. We chose to order off the resturant week menue for $ 30 a person. Just to simply say the size and portions where perfect and the food was fabulous. I had the organic chicken with risotto. Wow I am so coming back for that.
Not to mention the service that was put on last night and little to much but they certainly where on top of everything.

This restaurant gives the best service with the best food. The meat and cheese app is a great starter. The hummus is fresh. The steak is a generous portion. The short rib with Nutella was nothing I ever tasted before. The veal bolagnese pasta is the best I’ve ever tasted. The bonet is a great choice for dessert. And I just tried the espresso/​vodka martini was a great addition to dessert.

I’ll try to make this short because I have endless wonderful things to say about this restaurant. Zuppa Restaurant is one of my favorite restaurants. Their dishes are consistently innovative and delicious. I have celebrated some of mine and my family’s most important milestones at the restaurant and Zuppa’s food and staff have always exceeded our expectations. Whether you’re interested in a romantic table for two, birthday dinner or just an after work drink, you’ll never go wrong with Zuppa.

Equally divine in both cuisine & ambiance. I’ve eaten here 6 – 7 times over the past 3 years, & every course of each meal has been inventive, delicious, & prepared with care. The bar is also excellent — they have quality wines by both the glass & bottle, as well as a respectable variety of imported & domestic spirits. You can tell lots of time & attention have been given to all the details here. Service is attentive & professional. Perfect for a date, after work drink, or a special occasion. Had a 7:30 reservation, but wasn’t seated until 8:30 (no apology for the hour wait)… Our party grew later in the evening from 5 people to 8, which to their credit, they were able to accommodate. The waiter, who didn’t write any of our orders down, brought out an extra appetizer that we didn’t order, and then charged us for them (owner claimed that because we ate it, we should pay for it). The food was mediocre at best, and served in small portions. There was not much redeeming about our experience. I had such high hopes from the recommendations of others… Perhaps it was an off night

For our first visit to Yonkers, dinner at Zuppa was a big hit after spending the day at NY Botanical Garden in the Bronx. The restaurant was decorated beautifully for the holidays; service throughout the night was friendly, helpful and neither overwhelming nor lax; and each dish was fantastic.
Eating family style, my wife, two kids and I shared burrata, faro salad, stagionale pizza with pumpkin & egg yolk (crust is out of this world), homemade spinach-​and-​egg pasta (half order per our waiter was perfect size), halibut over spaghetti squash (nice change from rice or pasta), broken cannoli and zeppolini (be sure to double dunk in the strawberry & chocolate sauces).
This NJ family looks forward to discovering more of Westchester County when visiting NYBG and the Bronx Zoo.

My husband and I ate here about a month ago (always late on these reviews!) for the first time. We debated in going into the city or staying local, and I am so happy we stayed in Yonkers.
We’re both vegetarians/​pescetarians and my usual concern trying out new restaurants is the limited options, but Zuppa provided well. We began with the eggplant meatless meatballs and the skewer of calamari, both were AMAZING. Along with the bread, fresh hummus and Rosemary infused olive oil I was already in heaven. The meatless meatballs were lightly fried and not to heavy, perfectly done, and the calamari skewer was grilled to perfection. For our main course (we always split apps and a salad and a main dish) we went with the Cesar salad which was so good, dressing was light and flavorful, and the main dish was a special that night a Mediterranean Sea Bass with endive and potatoes. Every thing was cooked to perfection and the flavors paired wonderfully with nothing too overpowering or off putting. Dessert was a deconstructed Nutella cannoli (OMG) I could have like a million more.
Service was great, attentive but not over bearing, and very polite.
We’ll definitely be back, so happy this little gem is so close to home.

AMAZING! My husband and I were married here and spent a few Anniversaries here too. But between that we were regulars. Unfortunately we moved up north and hardly have the time to drive down. I miss them. I miss the personal attention they pay everyone who comes in their doors and I wish there were clones of Zuppa’s all around the country. Go here for sure!~ You won’t be sorry.

I came here on Sunday night with my mother, mother-​in-​law, and my fiancé for a belated Mother’s Day dinner. When we entered the restaurant, it was pretty empty. The décor was nice — simple and understated. There were some unique touches with the light fixtures but nothing extraordinary. The place was spacious. The outdoor appearances are certainly deceiving. We were immediately seated (we had a reservation). We ordered the mushroom pizza as an appetizer for the table. Two of us got the salmon. My fiancé got one of the pastas — I believe it had a pomodoro sauce. My mother got the steak. We were all relatively happy with our meals. I wasn’t ecstatic about my salmon, it was a touch too tasteless. I wasn’t a fan of the potatoes it sat on. My mother-​in-​law loved her salmon. My mother LOVED her steak so I’m assuming it was really good. The fact that they were able to make a well-​done steak flavorful speaks highly of their experience with food. My fiancé liked his food, but much like me, wasn’t over the moon over it. I didn’t really like the pizza though. Once again, I thought it lacked flavor. I could tell the ricotta was homemade, which is always a huge plus, but I had one tiny slice then I was done. Before the meal started, they presented us with a bread basket complete with olive oil and hummus, both of which were enjoyable.
The service was fantastic though. The waitress/​hostess we had kept checking on us to make sure we were happy. They were refilling our glasses of water like it was their only job to do so. Their dessert options looked amazing but at that point, we were too full to pursue the undertaking of consuming desserts. One weird thing happened though — in the middle of our meal, they dimmed the lights. I suppose it was to try to create an ambiance but the lights were too dim.
There’s no parking — just street parking. It’s not at a bad area of Yonkers. It’s close to the water. This was the perfect restaurant to take my mothers or fathers out to, but I wouldn’t go for a date night.

I last reviewed Zuppa in 2011 after being disappointed about my meal, but after my family threw me a Bridal Shower at the restaurant this past weekend, I had to write another review. I have been back a few times and had good experiences since 2011, but the successful party was a major reminder to post something online.
In advance of the event, my mother was pleased with the responsiveness of Zuppa when it came to planning and coordination. They were allowed to enter the restaurant an hour before the party started to set up decorations, which was plenty of time.
The food was absolutely fantastic, starting with the risotto ball, bruschetta, and cheese plate hors d’oeuvres, on to the salmon, chicken, and mushroom ravioli entrees, and rounding it out with the ricotta cheesecake dessert. Everyone raved about how delicious the food was, the portions were nicely size, and the service was fantastic.
I would highly recommend this restaurant for a special event or just a nice dinner.
