I loved ShopRite when I lived in Philly and hate that we do not have any in New York City. I happen to be at the Target in the Bronx and realized Yonkers has a ShopRite. It was cool 15 minutes without traffic from where I was and I feeling adventurous. I had the worst idea of grocery shopping on a Saturday afternoon but the frugal woman in me wanted to catch some awesome deals in terms of meats. As soon as I pulled in the parking lot I got a quick indicator of what it would be like inside. THETHINGSYOUDOFORDEALS. Grabbed a cart and soon as I entered the produce section was like a major traffic jam. People everywhere with carts and no awareness of others. Also, it looked like the store just recently got a delivery because there were pallets with food located everywhere. This made it much more difficult to navigate the already small aisles. The cashier I had was sweet and kind. Overall I will probably visit this location again because I got some stellar deals but probably not during peak hours.

Oh, no… I will never come back here. First off, the parking is a disaster, everyone is screaming and the hustle is just too real in these parts. We almost got into three different accidents just trying to drive out. This supermarket is in too confined a space to serve such a large demographic.

The store has a great selection of food. It’s usually easy to find a cab at this location. I also like the fact that it’s right underneath CVS. The store is spacious. The supermarket is near a lot of stores and buses. On the other hand, most of their employees are unprofessional. A lot of the employees have a bad attitude. If you hate crowds, the weekends, holidays, and the evenings are horrendous.

Every time I shop here I ask myself why. In fairness since the renovations it has improved but I can see the decline already. Everything you buy has to be carefully checked or you run the risk of purchasing expired or spoiled food. EVENCHECKTHECANNEDFOOD. RIDICULOUS! I would never purchase anything from the deli or the buffet because seriously I’ve seen expired can food. I won’t complain about the employees because I’m pretty sure they are underpaid and under trained.

What a s**t show! Let me give my pros and cons and then share a recent experience. Pros: Cheap. As in cheapest grocery store prices in Westchester. Hmm… thats about it. Cons: — Well there may be a drug deal happening in the parking lot — Safety seems questionable… see above. — I saw Yonkers Police bring out a handcuffed woman last time I was there — Attitude, attitude, and attitude. From the employees to the supervisors. — Their fruit is awful. All of their apples and oranges are marked up, dented, and mushy. Buy your canned food and non-perishables here and go to Whole Foods of something else later. — Finding a check-out lane is an ordeal. You have only two lanes open. Attitude again. Then their equipment works. I will say there are a few very nice young check out employees who you can tell are trying their best among the chaos. — You have about 10 employees at the checkout area doing nothing. Seriously, just chatting. Recent Experience: I worked Thanksgiving Day and the day before. I saw in the circular that the store would be open till 6pm on Thanksgiving Day. I go into the store at 4:50 pm and a man comes on the intercom and says, «Store is closing in 5 min, go to the registers now if you want to buy something, or you don’t get to check out.».something to that extent and unprofessionalism. I filed a complaint with ShopRite online. Here is their response by email days later. And nothing annoys me more than a half-a** corporate response, template response where they just entered your name, and you know that they really don’t care: Thank you for emailing ShopRite. We appreciate the opportunity to respond. First, we want to apologize for any inconvenience you may have been caused while shopping. The feedback you have provided is very important because it helps us focus on areas that need improvement. As you may know, ShopRite stores are owned and operated by independent companies. Wakefern provides the stores with products and retail support services but the store owner ultimately controls the day-to-day operation. We’ve forwarded your comments to the owner of this location for further follow up with their management team. We want to assure you that all of us at Wakefern/ShopRite share a commitment to ensure our customers are completely satisfied with our stores, products, and the services we provide. Customers who care enough to let us know when we’ve fallen short are our most valuable resource. We regret any inconvenience this matter has caused and we hope to be able to restore your confidence in our stores and the services we offer. If we can be of any assistance in the future, please let us know. Sincerely, Cameron H

Shop Rite, right or wrong? It’s usually a gamble. The remodel was a BIG improvement, and more recently the customer service has gotten better as well. The lines are not as long as I know they can be and the clerks are much nicer. Just check your food thoroughly before buying, especially the produce and meats. I bought a bag of apples and oranges and all but 1 orange was molded. Who has time to downs gas and minutes to return, especially since they never should have been put out for sale. Smh. Shop Rite, the local casino, it’s a gamble. I gave it 3 star because they have improved in some areas.

Prices are as advertised, but the staff and up keep very poor. The store looked Amazing the first week or so after renovations but as soon as the big bosses left it was back to ghetto Shop Rite! Never mind the fight in isle 6 last wk that employees allowed and laughed about it! At that point I had to walk out!!! If you drive best go Elsewhere!

So I just visited the newly renovated Greenway ShopRite and I’ve gotta say, it is absolutely beautiful! They still have the same kinds of foods and even more– including a full bakery, a fully stocked health food section, artisan fare and all the same things you’d see in the finer markets. Sadly, the same ratchet, feral people still frequent the place(boo). But with a supermarket this nice, they won’t be visiting my neck of the woods(and hopefully not yours either)…yay!

If the unemployment level is so high in this area, how is it possible that the management here can’t find better employees? What is the interview process for this Shop Rite like? «Are you a misanthropic teenager with pink eye? Perfect! Do you want to work here? Ha! Neither do I!» It doesn’t matter what time of day you go here: No matter what, every single aisle will always have a huge cart in the middle of it with extra supplies, but no one will be stocking the supplies — the cart will just be sitting there, right in front of the Cocoa Krispies, every damn time. You think shopping here is bad? Try leaving — every time you walk out of here with your groceries, there are at least five different desperate, crazy-looking people shuffling around incoherently in the parking lot. Will they try to steal your groceries? Will they beg you for money? Or will they just keep you in suspense, letting your own imagination torture you slowly?

You want to stay away from here, quite literally. Rough, aggressive crowd, nasty, rude and argumentative employees. We witnessed three fights on our second visit and while we only live less than a mile away, we won’t be going back. Lots of very rough people hang out here, NOT a supermarket to bring yourself, much less your family.

If you absolutely have to shop there do it before sundown, because im not kidding you once it gets dark all the crazies from Yonkers end up in that place and it turns into a Zoo smelling of weed, stale alcohol and urine. I live right next to ot and shop at the one on Tuckahoe road. «ShopWRONG»

«This is the Ghetto-est supermarket of them all.» –Juan T. 1−½ stars Decent size store with overall a cheap shopping experience in more ways than one. There is plenty of free parking, the cost of goods were decent, and the service was cheap as well. The store was not only disorganized, but service fails beyond all recognition. The cashier that helped us stepped way in the middle of check out to chit chat with an employee. I don’t mean walk and chew gum at the same time type of multi tasking. I mean actually leave her line, go down a couple check out stations, and start chatting with another employee about wanting to do a little something something. I would have been annoyed if I didn’t find it so funny and was in no rush to do anything that late in the night. I did feel bad for the people behind me though… It was cheap and on the way home… I gave it a ½ star extra for making me laugh.

This is the Ghetto-est supermarket of them all. Lines are long, people suck, managers suck, cashiers suck. The customers do not respect the lines, its like most people that go there are animals, seriously. They see a line and they jump in front of you. they eat the food and drop the wrapper in the floor without paying. The cashiers are the slowest and careless of all the supermarkets i have been to. Its like they hire them to be slow and retards. The managers are not any better, they have no clue on how to run an efficient business… im trying to be kind of polite and not say any bad words but its just so damn hard… Only reason why i go to this place is because is on my way to my house, even my sister decided not to ever go to this place…
