Residence Inn Yonkers Westchester County

Clean rooms. Good place to rest your head. I really don’t know why anyone comes to this hotel. It appears to be near nothing of intrinsic value.
It is always full of people. Sometimes you wonder if the people are actually staying here or if they are just at the hotel to go swimming.

I’m giving this 4 stars for what it is, a Residence Inn; it’s not the Ritz, this isn’t Central Park, this is a convenient hotel for business travelers. It’s spartan, efficient, and friendly – if you want a spa package, take your toosh elsewhere and drop the appropriate $.
I take extended trips for work and spend a lot of time in my room working. The rooms here have desks ideal for laptops with peripherals and 4 AC plugs at easy reach. Some rooms have a full kitchen with 4 burner stove and refrigerator; though the knives are dangerously dull and cheaply serrated (prevents theft I suppose).
While breakfast is included (eggs, a meat, potatoes, fruit, cereal, waffle machine, toast), there is no restaurant; plenty of local restaurants deliver. If you prefer to cook, there are pots, skillets, and a broiling pan to use in the oven. If you don’t have time to go shopping, the hotel offers a grocery-​getting service. There’s also an Applebees across the parking lots, across the street.
The gym is small, yet has everything I need for a good workout, 2 treadmills, a few seated cycling machines, step machine, rowing machine, dumbbells up to 50 pounds, and a reclining bench. There’s a swimming pool too.
A laundry room makes self-​service convenient to wash and dry your clothes. There’s a fire pit outside, some evening social foods offered on weekdays (hot dogs and such). The front desk accepts package deliveries when you’re not in. Pets are allowed.

I have been to several Residence Inn’s on both coasts, and this is my favorite by far. The rooms are off the Parkway a bit, so its not adjacent to a high speed freeway. The Lenoir Reserve is walking distance, its a beautiful 40 acre park with a butterfly garden where it is very underused by other people. This is a nice place because it is clean, the rooms are well designed, even the smaller studios seem spacious, the kitchen is modern with a small dishwasher and the staff was responsive to requests. The breakfast was better than most attempts at breakfast – you can make a fresh waffle, there is some good oatmeal that is not full of sugar or salt, and the selections vary every day. I would prefer fresh eggs to the obviously powdered eggs, but the staff adds cheese which sort of covers that up. There is also yogurt, fresh fruit and a selection of granola along with the usual sugar-​laden cereals.
My only complaint was with the maid service – she missed some mess that was left on the counter, but started the dishwasher with only 2 mugs and a burnt pan, which would not be clean anyway in a dishwasher. On another day she forgot to empty an overflowing kitchen garbage and leave kitchen towels, after removing the used ones. And forgot to restock the toilet tissue in the bathroom. On another day I told the front desk I had a young infant sleeping in the room, and would call for room service and relayed that same message to the housekeeping manager, who happened to stop by the front desk. So I was pretty annoyed when this same maid kept trying to force the door open with her key, even though the «do not disturb» sign was on the door, and I had latched it with the inside bolt. I finally had to call the front desk and have them come up and tell her to quit trying to get inside the room – she was going to wake the infant.

The hotel was fine but during breakfast people started to empty the fruit bowls into backpacks. There were also a few people taking like 5 yogurt and granola cups (maybe for lunch) so we could not even get any. It was almost like watching a show. I don;t know if they were all guest but it seemed like these people were taking all the food. One guy filled 4 cups full of eggs, really? Other than that the stay was fine. I just don’t like if I have paid for a night, having people swarm in like they are going camping and this is the last food stop on the trail. When I see others with 4 items and I can’t get one, that is not good

This is such a nice hotel. The staff is wonderful and attentive. The breakfast is thorough and they have different theme nights Mon-​Weds. The gym is decent as well as Landry room. The hot tub spa is great but the pool needs to be totally cleaned out, emptied out and cared for correctly.

I stayed at this property for business travel, I’m a Marriott platinum guest-​I travel a lot for work. I was happy to find that they have a shuttle that will pick you up, but it’s a 5 mile radius. Fortunately, the train stations are within that radius. So, if you take a train to get there you’re in luck. My issue is with the front desk and their odd billing practices. I was working with a local business that has a contracted rate with this property, I would book months in advance to assure the rate would be available and inevitably I would be charged double the rate upon checkout. They would, after having to deal with a surly, curt sales woman, acknowledge their mistake. The problem is that they would then claim that the rate was no longer available. This happened 4x’s before I decided never to stay at this property again.
The other issue I ran into was a very short staffed front desk that also acted as room service at times. I have in my profile that I need an additional 2 pillows. They never had them waiting for me like they do at other Marriott properties. I’d call the desk and they’d tell me that it may be a 2 hour wait to receive pillows. I would offer to come and get them and I was told it would still be an hour before they could leave the desk to get the pillows.
The breakfast-​yes, it’s «free». It’s also barely edible. Powdered eggs, watery oatmeal and every bowl, cup and utensil is plastic or styrofoam. It’s difficult to be that environmentally unfriendly, but they’re doing their best.
The rooms were generally spacious and clean. I do enjoy having a kitchen while I’m on the road. Beware of the rooms on the second floor that are close to the elevator. It’s not so much the elevator noise, but the HVAC farm (there must be 20 of them) right outside the bedside windows that all turn on and make an unbelievably loud sound. I would not recommend this property for other business travelers.

Our stay here was adequate. We had a studio suite. It was small but did the job. Kitchen was fully functional and well stocked. Shower had strong water pressure. We didn’t try the breakfast or evening social. Staff we encountered were friendly and greeted us with a smile or nod. Our room was cleaned everyday and the staff did a good job. Location is in a office complex which empties out evenings and weekends so parking is not an issue. The only restaurant we could see outside the hotel was an Applebee’s which on a warm day would be walking distance otherwise a minute drive from the hotel.

Great service. Great rooms. Best place to stay in Yonkers! Front desk was very nice and caring. As busy as this hotel is, it is incredible to see how clean they keep it. I highly recommend this Residence Inn to all business partners!

Very nice hotel — clean and well-​kept. The pool was in great shape — just a bit too much chlorine imho! We had a large group with lots of children and they were very accommodating making reservations. Only problem was not enough towels at pool area — but that was supposedly due to a city water problem. I’d recommend this hotel.

Disappointing. I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again– I’m a loyal Marriott goer. They sucked me into their rewards program, and I haven’t left the brand since.
So, I’m always excited to find a Marriott near where we are traveling, and this Residence Inn seemed newer, so even better. Sadly, the visit was full of disappointments.
Disappointment #1– I understand it’s winter, but the property had done a terrible job with plowing their parking lot, making it near impossible to see the spots, and requiring us to drive our car up onto the snow to get in to what seemed to be a parking spot.
Disappointment #2– pieces of hair in the bed. Grosses me out every time, though I know it’s just a side effect of using big commercial washer and dryers. I guess.
Disappointment #3– the shower was totally blocked. So much so I had to stick a glass from the kitchen in the drain to keep it open so it would drain enough not to overflow. I don’t love starting my day ankle deep in bath water.
Disappointment #4– it seemed every breakfast item had been boiled in water. I know it’s free, but it should be closer to edible.
I’ll stay loyal to Marriott, but not to this property.

I always enjoy staying at any residence inn! With a small kitchen and very spacious!
But this inn exceeded my standards! In the one bedroom the living area and full kitchen are tied together. Including a fire place, desk, and table for two! Next is the bath room which is in middle and separates the living area/​kitchen from the bedroom with two doors. The bedroom includes a king size bed a TV and dresser and two side tables.
The staff is very friendly! Helping you enjoy your stay! And breakfast is very nice! The indoor pool is well spaced which equals no overpowering chlorine smell and not stuffy (like most hotels)
Over all I highly recommend this hotel!

If only all Residence Inns were at this level! The Yonkers location is very convenient to major highways into (and out of) the City. We stayed here for a couple of days while visiting friends and were exceptionally comfortable.
The furnishings are above average for a Residence Inn and very clean. There must have been upgrades/​renovations fairly recently, because things still look new. We had a suite with separate areas for sleeping and for work/​relaxing. The kitchen was big enough to cook in comfortably, and well-​equipped. There is a light dinner during the week, but we weren’t around to take advantage. The breakfast is hot, tasty, and free.
Staff was friendly and accommodating. The were quick to greet us on entering and leaving and ask how everything was. WiFi was fast and reliable. I didn’t check prices, since we stayed using Marriott points.

Clean room and friendly staff… I Would definitely come back again. PS there is a Walgreens that is 24 hours that is 5 min away.

Stayed here for a family of 4 trip to NYC for 5 days. Yes, this is north of the city but it was free as we were using Marriott Rewards points in the middle of the summer. First, the rooms are very large and clean. We only had a room with a large king bed and pull out couch which was more than enough for our small family. The wife liked the fact that the bathroom area had a separate sink area/​mirror outside of the shower/​toilet area where she could get ready and everyone else could use the restroom/​shower while she got ready.
The hotel location is up on a hill, in the back of an office park in a very safe location. Parking is free. There were no homes anywhere nearby by that we could see. No highway noise or other noise in the area. There is a gas station nearby and an Applebee’s restaurant (expensive — I guess it must be a NY thing compared to my local Applebee’s).
One AWESOME thing I could say about this hotel was the FREE morning buffet. It was your typical Marriott type buffet breakfast consisting of scrambled eggs, some sort of potatoes everyday or hash browns, muffins, yogurts, cereals, bagels, sausage, Egg/​Cheese/​Ham McMuffin, made-​to-​order waffles, juices, etc. The food was VERY good… I swear it was the best I have ever had a hotel and this was a buffet!!! The fact that my family could get a great free breakfast in the morning makes staying here the icing on the cake!
I recommend that if you want to just explore NYC and you have a car, go to the Van Cortlandt Park Subway station in the Bronx (242 Street & Broadway). It’s about 10mins away by car. I parked on the street at a meter and paid $ 8 for 12 hrs of parking. The area is a bit urban but felt safe. The Cortland Park subway station is the top/​first station on the #1 subway (red line) and will take you into Times Square, Battery Park (Wall St area, World Trade Center memorial, Statue of Liberty, etc), or you can change subways to other lines. (get the subway map app for your iPhone/​Android!) The subway ride into the city is about 30 – 45 mins and like NY, is an experience unto itself! As to trains… Trains are twice the cost of the subway. The seating is a bit nicer and it gets you into the city in about ½ the time… but was not worth it IMO. Do NOT go to the Graystone train station (3 mins from the hotel) unless you rely on the hotels shuttle (there is NO parking available). We used the Glenwood station one day and parked in a parking garage ($ 12) for the day. Again, the train is twice as expensive as the subway system and the train ONLY takes you to Grand Central Station (which you then generally have to catch a cab or subway anyways!).
To sum it up… the Hotel was PERFECT for this trip (especially considering we used our Marriott Points). We did not get to stay inside the city or at Times Sq. but then again, I didn’t have to spend $ 600‑1200 either for a hotel in the city and got a large hotel room (enough for 4 people), with an AWESOME free breakfast to start out each day!
One final note which says a lot about the staff there. My son forgot a charging cable to one of his electronic devices in the room. We called the hotel upon realizing it… they immediately went to the room and retrieved it. It was then mailed back to me (I provided them a USPS Click-​n-​Ship label via E-​mail). The staff there was great!!!

Nestled in Executive Plaza in Yonkers, this hotel is pretty hard to find from the main road. Being a hotel veteran of NYC, in comparison, this place definitely offers value for the space and amenities.
I stayed here after a production role out to unwind and stay close to the office. My room had a kitchenette with full size fridge, microwave, cupboard filled with dishes and plates. There was a separate living room area with a desk and wifi available (which came in handy when I got called with work problems)
I’m definitely going to use this place when I’m asked to do other releases.

How can you not like Residence Inn?
Though the hot breakfast can’t be good for you, it is delicious, and you always know what you’re going to get.
This place is easy to miss as you can’t see it from the main road. In fact you can’t really see it until you pull into an office parking lot… so yeah… some people might think it’s weird, but I think of it more as a hidden gem.
Our room was very comfortable and clean.

This place was amazing. It was clean and allowed pets. I was there for four days and had the best time during a difficult time. My apartment was being fixed and I stayed there.
The staff were super nice. The suite was completely stocked and I fell in love with the fireplace.

Friendly service for Yonkers but needs a bit more emphasis on housekeeping services. everyday something was forgotten ;towels, beds unfinished, dish detergent refills, only the most important things! Pool room was not kept up, and needed a/​c repaired!! was like a sauna in the summer
worked for a temp. Home while looking for houses during our relocation. good in a pinch… great for families traveling with young children since the rooms are fully equipped w/​kitchens –full size at that! Not just the mini kitchenettes. And having the full hot breakfast and light dinner Monday thru Thursday evenings also helped to take a load off of the eating out… room rates very reasonably priced. overall not bad. I’d stay again and recommend but don’t forget your Lysol wpes!;)

This hotel is very accommodating and clean! They have an indoor pool and free breakfast. The room is equipped like a studio apartment in a metro city. The woman at the front desk was great with lots of smiles. Very Nice
