The other day I decided to bring my mother to this location due to her moving into a smaller apt and her needing a spot to store her ton of hoarded items. According to other reviews on this site I was quite intimidated. I however had a completely different experience!!! I had no issue finding the perfect storage space. With friendly and very professional staff, I believe it was 3 staff members (Lidia, Luisa, and a Stephanie) at that that helped my mother and i understand very easily and professionally. In fact Luisa and Stephanie were quite informative that my mother actually saved money on her storage space and rate! I have to be quite honest and say to others, this was a truly smooth experience that could not have gone better! Just be ready with your questions and let the lovely staff do the rest. I truly thank these ladies from the bottom of my heart in helping my mother and I out, truly blown away by the way they handled themselves and the service provided to my mother and I.

The staff was extremely nice and accommodating. We had some complications with transferring things out of another place, but the people here made every part of this transition smooth and easy, and we are grateful to them. This is also an excellent and secure facility. Highly recommended!

It’s cheap and the staff is super nice are about the only PROs. Here are the CONS:
You have to pick the right floor here. Some of the floors have been renovated, and some have not and look like an abandoned housing project. Flickering lights, holes in the wall, pipes leaking. There have been a few instances of pipes breaking so I wouldn’t store anything here that you don’t want wet.
The «climate control» is pretty much non-​existent. If the temperature falls below a certain level they say they turn on the heat, if it rises above a certain level they turn on the air conditioning. The problem is the space is really old and I’m not sure there is any insulation. It is not a constant temperature so this would not be a good place to put anything wood as the temperature variations are too great and your wood would contract and expand and ruin it. For our camping gear, this place is fine. They do not supply enough carts. Of the many times I’ve been, I have yet to get a cart.
On more than 1 occasion one of the elevators is broken and you have had to walk to the other side of the building.
Security. There is none. The front gate is never closed and it’s quite a scary area at night. You can also pull the automatic doors open with your hands so the code to open the sliding glass door and enter the facility is useless. Anyone can open the doors without a code. You are a sitting duck here at night. I would only go here during the day when the staff was working.
I’m a little surprised Public Storage puts their name on this location. Whoever owns this one certainly doesn’t want to put any money into it.

Obviously to get the attractive rates here compared to in Manhattan you have to accept the inconvenience of the location, but on the plus side, it’s a well run, dry, clean facility, and the staff are friendly, welcoming and helpful. The Manager Tameka H was very helpful in my move to a bigger, more economical unit at the facility. Nice work Tameka — I’m sure you make your parent very proud.

Not a great experience here.
The location and parking is not bad.
But make sure you reserve a unit and discounted price online before you set foot in the door! The online prices are much better. I got hosed by just going in. I even asked if the price they quoted me was the lowest possible and they lied and said yes. They should have told me to just pull out my phone to get a better deal. A
And it turns out the in-​store «deal» they gave me on a unit with less space due to a giant column taking up space was not discounted at all. It was the regular full price. So they lied to me twice.
And you CAN turn down their insurance. They really try and pressure you into buying it, including lying and saying you HAVE you get it for the lease. But after resisting and threatening to go across the street to UHaul they admitted you can waive it.
I would check out StoragePost or UHaul which are both next door. Not sure if they are any better but they can’t be much worse.

I have been renting a 10×10 for about 4 months. At first the facility seemed to be running well but when I went there on ⁸⁄₃₀ I started having second thoughts. First one of the elevators I tried to use didn’t work. I was moving heavy items and after about a half hour I told the managers that it wasn’t working and they told me they knew about it and hey were waiting for it to be fixed. But no out of order signs were posted anywhere on or near this elevator. Second, when I got in the elevator on the first floor and hit the wrong floor number the elevator took me to that floor. I was told when I got the unit there was a security system in place that wouldn’t allow renters to go a floor they weren’t renting in. Besides that once you get to your floor, there is no key code system to get back on the elevator and I ended up getting off on the wrong floor which shouldn’t have never happened if their security system was working properly. Third this is supposed to be a climate controlled facility. When I first started renting there, the climate control system was working. On ⁸⁄₃₀ after spending an hour in there I didn’t even feel a single puff of air in the place, except for the reception area. Fourth, the place seemed to be run by a bunch of kids which I have not seen on previous visits so this could explain some of the problems I experienced that day. On a side note, I am not happy with the overall set-​up of this facility. A cheap wire roof is all that prevents my stuff from getting stolen. The walls are not tall so it wouldn’t be hard to break into a unit from the top. I was told it was for fire reasons being there is a sprinker system in it. But to not have a more solid roof structure has never sit well with me from day 1. I am going to get my stuff out of this place as soon as I can.

I have had nothing but frustrating problems with the customer service and polices at this location. The storage facility is fine, it’s clean, convenient and indoors, but the service has been deplorable. I reserved online at one price and when I showed up to purchase and move in it was a smaller space and a higher rate. It took almost an hour to work this out. On my first 3 bills/​invoices they charged me more than the rate in my lease and it took multiple phone calls each billing cycle to get this resolved. Then after 6 months of renting (and always paying on time) my rate went up by $ 20. They claim it’s in the lease that they can raise the rate whenever they want to as long as they notify. I was not notified. It’s obviously a huge inconvenience and expense to move out which is I’m sure how they get away with all of this but I will hopefully move out soon and never again use this company.

So far, so good. The rate was really good compared to whats available in the city. It’s about $ 40 cheaper for a 5×10 room than what I saw at their locations in Queens and the Bronx. On the downside it is a bit of a haul to get to Yonkers.
Service was good, but they were understaffed and it was a major annoyance. When we showed up the office was shut tight despite it being business hours, and there was no sign anywhere to explain why. After standing around like douches for 20 minutes, the guy turned up.
Apparently the one worker they had stepped out to show a room to a client, and because he’s alone, he has to shut everything down when he leaves. When he showed me my room, he made all of the people who were on line stand outside while we finished the tour. It’s a very odd system.
My advice to management; hire a second worker.
