This place is a mess; the aisles are crowded, help can be difficult to find and making your way to a check-out line can be like running an obstacle course. However, they have«stuff.» Stuff includes cheap clothes(like undergarments); food, from end of shelf life baked goods and sad(sometimes very, very sad) looking vegetables to specialty ethic condiments(not always at good prices), home goods, hardware and seasonal specialties. In the old days(like fifty years ago) we went to the local five-and-dime for stuff like this(ok, not for ethic specialties, but for some of the other stuff!), but in the 21st century this is a useful store. Don’t come here when you’re stressed, expect to wander around to find whether what you want is in stock, but be open to the experience and you may find a reasonable deal.

Would be total hell if not for the prices. Where to start? This place is a chain, known for it’s decent to good prices. If I want to get a cheap item, like a blender, I would just come here. Cheap bedding… here. Cheap anything, I’ll come here if my patience level is in an adequate place. That’s pretty much the only good thing to say about this place/location, even if some of the cheap brands are garbage within themselves. Use caution with some of these names are far as quality goes — but you get what you pay for I suppose. The rest is downhill naturally. The management is garbage. English is a second language to most of the staff working here. Hardly any halfway decent customer service — and I’m being kind saying that, because for all the times I’ve come here, I’ve only seen one employee crack a smile and be of some help. It’s almost as if they tell the workers not to be friendly. If you know what you want and where it is, you can avoid the employees largely, except when it’s time to pay. The cashiers are VERY slow and unfriendly. Too many times there is a long line — even in the«express» lane. Waiting in the line is actually my least favorite part, especially in a place where even entering is a drag. The store itself is a toilet. Dirty, dusty in certain places, stocked horribly — this is a place of how not to look. I think because of their decent prices, they figure they can do whatever they want with all else. I’d actually shop here more if this place had any sort of structure, both physically and among the employees. This is a low-rent K-Mart, Target, Wal-Mart — at least those places are clean and with some English speaking employees(though from the ones in my area, all seriously lack in actual work ethic). It’s almost as if certain areas in this store are from a large combination of garage sales, since items are on top of each other and all over the place. The aisles are not wide enough and it’s sometimes like an obstacle course getting thru between the brain dead employees and the zombie-like customers. As stated, the prices in here can be nice, but you also get what you pay for. I once bought light-bulbs here, that were the worst I’ve ever bought, though the description on the package was the same in any other location(the A&P ones I bought later were better). Some things are cheaply made and some companies I’ve never heard of. If it’s anything within reason you want and cheap, then by all means. There are some brand names here too, so it’s not a total loss. I bought shower curtains here which lasted, so again, you take a risk at times. The parking lot is an outside part of the indoor Cross County mall, so it does get busy and of course the people who can’t walk 5 extra feet will linger waiting for that ever so closer space. Not NWL’s fault, but it’s just an added hassle when coming here. So grab that patience and take a trip here if you want to save a few bucks.

This store is so much nicer than I thought it would be. Parking lot is always packed so people seem to like it. Great deals on everything here.

Great place with very nice and helpful staff members… but awful management. Good deals can actually be found, but in case a problem arises, well forget about it. They have good brands for good prices, but they take advantage of it. One example: a very good brand of rice I was curious about… the tag said EVERYWHEREELSE3.99 $ but here for 4.49 $ obviously a mistake. So I asked the staff members, and they said speak with the manager: a pretentious individual with an attitude, claiming that the tag had been CUT from 13.99 $… sure! Even the staff members were laughing, but instead of admitting they were wrong, well, the story ends with me not buying the rice _nobody cuts a two-number tag so far(there were still few inches of blank paper), and most of all you don’t assume customers are so stupid, do you?

Ok soooo your in the market for toothpaste from china, ceral with Michael phelps on the box, and Chineese made screwdrivers… well you’ve came to the right place… this place is like the $ 1 store but stuff is more $…items on the verge of expiring, shoddy furniture… if your looking for cleaning products & paper towles you can’t go wrong but I’d stay away from the Cheerios & referb tv’s…Oh, I think it’s a requirement to shop or work here that your can not shower on a daily basis… you walk by people & wanna uke, well if you do atleast you’ll have plenty of cheap papertowles to clean it up… I’d say grab a tide & windex but leave the possible salmonella infested food products alone!

You get what u pay for… Buy cheap get cheap. It’s all about the dolla here. Good for last minute items especially around the holidays. Check expiration dates on food items which are non-refundable. Greeting cards are just a buck as well as bags of chips, condoms and candy. Household and personal hygiene items are heavily discounted. Cashiers are slow as snails but very friendly. Parking is ample. Begin here to get a bang 4 ya buck!

Prices are very cheap which will keep me coming back. However, the staff are extremely incompetent and have trouble handling the simplest of jobs. Every time I shop here and I am checking out, the cashier always has to call a supervisor to help her/him because the price of an item is unknown.

This store is pretty awesome but a hot mess at the same time. I mean who can resist deals such as $ 9.99 for a family-sized laundry detergent(It’s normally over $ 20 in the city). $ 2 for two toothbrushes, $ 1 for baby wipes, $ 3 for name-brand shampoo, etc. It’s like a Big Lots I suppose or a Jacks but much much bigger. They have everything here for a deep-discount. Just make sure you don’t get sucked into buying junk you don’t need. And, check the expiration dates on all food items.
