Micro Center

The company was smart enough to get me in using a coupon but once I got there I had some questions I ask for a sales associate and no one was able to help me my coupon was expired and the manager was nice enough to go ahead and honor that but once again felt very shady with no sense of communication just simply walking in turning the key and leaving just didn’t feel welcomed and they literally let me walk out of the store when I was almost going to spend $ 500 and the whole reason I came was because I had a coupon so in my opinion the store is nice and they probably have what you need but the sales people need to really step up their game

Bricks and mortar technology stores have largely come and gone – remember when they were stores dedicated to selling radios? and then televisions (and VCR’s!)? and of course stereo audio components? and first typewriters and then computers, but Micro Center is an exception. Located on the top level of one of the maze of buildings that compose the Cross County Shopping Center (with plenty of parking out front), it replaced an earlier tenant and offers a full selection of computer hardware and software, monitors and televisions, gaming supplies and assorted electronic components. Part of a small nationwide chain, for those who like to actually look at what they’re purchasing (as against comparing online images) Micro Center fills a valuable niche. They also offer repair and upgrade services (which we haven’t tried).

This micro center is ok. It’s another version of Bestbuy. If your an Apple fan and got here for a purchase you will get into debates with poorly educated people about how everything else is better than anything apple. Then they really don’t even know anything about Apple products! Seriously!

The Micro Center is the first place that I go to for my tech needs. The store is well stocked with a vast array of merchandise. It is well staffed with knowledgeable personnel who have helped me on many occasions determine which product would serve me best and be most cost effective for me. Their prices are very good to excellent. And, the repair staff quickly and satisfactorily helped me on several occasions when I brought tech problems to them.

As a frequent customer of the build-​your-​own section of the store, I can say that these guys (especially N. Ortiz, the dude with the beard and the long hair) know what they’re talking about, and if you get to know them over the course of building your PC, they’ll really help you out in the long run. And they have EVERYTHING.

A friend recommended Micro Center to me when I explained that following a system upgrade my MacBook was not working properly. When I went to the ‘GENIUS BAR’ at the Apple Store, I was told me problems were due to my computer being outdated, was told to order more RAM online, install it myself — jeez.
Instead, I went to Micro Center where the most helpful technician, Basel, walked me through the process of installing the additional RAM, got me a great deal on the price and did the installation within 2 hours. It was so brilliant that the next day I brought in my son’s Surface Pro 3 which was acting glitchy and voila! within 15 minutes of tweaking things, Basel had it working seamlessly.
I love this place and the people who work there! Can’t say enough good things. Micro Center is WAY BETTER than The Genius Bar!!!

I have always liked Micro Center. They have almost everything you need for your computer. This is especially true for legacy machines which may need wires or software or updates. They have awesome stuff.
I found out on dealnews, com that they were offering an additional $ 100 off the already lowered surface pro 3 for black friday. It was an amazing deal. I ordered online, was told to pick up the device, walked in, picked up the type case (sold separately and sometimes on sale during the week, but the deal was so good, I wanted the store to have my additional business), and paid. A manager came to shake my hand. I noticed that they did that with bigger purchases. It was a nice touch in my opinion. If all things are equal, I would give this store my business first. However, there is no charity to be had in this review, as on black friday, they beat most stores on the surface pro 3 by $ 200, and even beat microsoft’s best offer by $ 100. Sold.

Great place to find computer parts and electronics. If you cant wait for NewEgg to ship your item then definitely come here to pick it up. Ordered online for store pick up and can get it in 20 minuted easy picking.

When I’m looking to buy any electronics especially pc hardware I check Newegg, Tiger Direct, Amazon, and Micro Center.
An eon ago people would visit J&R and many currently visit Best Buy but those places are overpriced & don’t always know what they’re talking about. Micro Center has real geeks and good prices.
They currently sell the cheapest & highest quality Windows tablets. They have a huge closeout & discounted section. They always provide rebates & great service. Their aisles are pretty well organized & clearly labeled.
Yes, eBay might be cheaper. Yes, you can avoid paying sales tax on Newegg, but if you need something now (and affordably) then Micro Center is the place to visit.
There’s also plenty of parking and a ton of other stores within Cross Country that you can visit as well.

If your expecting reliable repair service I would strongly recommend going some place else. After being directed here from Apple because of my a 2007 iMac, this location actually lost one of my RAM modules during repair.
These are modules I have purchased in the past with my own money. The lack of communication & technical knowledge by the staff & management makes this store less than adequate for professional assistance.
I spoke with the General Manager, Manager & technicians for no resolution. They claimed they couldn’t order the same model of RAM & offered to replace it with anther brand. The fake they lost my own property is completely unprofessional. I would suggest if your an Apple customer to avoid this place for any service.
I am contacting corporate today because after paying over $ 400 for repairs I want to be properly compensated.

I have never left Microcenter disappointed. I’ve bought so many things from here (computers, monitors, sound systems, a television, various wires, power supplies… I could go on!) and I do not plan on ever going anywhere else for anything I might possibly need. First of let’s talk about selection. This store has just about everything you might need from parts to build a computer to already built. Cameras, laptops, entertainment systems… I haven’t come here once to look for something and NOT found it. This place is really a one stop shop and much better, in my opinion, than Best Buy when it comes to prices and selection.
Next, customer service. This is a big thing for any store, of course, but when you’re selling computers and the like, it’s an even bigger deal. These people know what they are talking about. I have never had a hard time finding someone to help me and the best part is, they really do not pressure you into buying anything. If you are just looking around, they will take you around. If you know exactly what you want, they will take you right to it. And they stay with you right to the end if you are making a large purchase. They will walk you to the register and everything, making sure you get the right price. I love that. And like I said, I’ve never felt pressured to buy anything when I didn’t want to! That’s definitely my favorite part.
The last thing is their refurbished products. Usually I do not like to buy refurbished, but when it’s a good deal sometimes you have to just go with it. I have bought two refurbished items from this store and have no issues what-​so-​ever. It’s been about two years now since I’ve gotten them and they are working as expected with no issues at all.
Overall, if you’re looking for a place to go besides Best Buy that has really great prices (like Newegg prices on some items) this is the place to go. The knowledge staff will help you with anything you need and the managers are always around if you need anything, too.

This was my first visit to a Micro Center and it was pretty good. We got RAM for my mom’s mac and some other bits and pieces. The staff was very helpful but it’s clear that they don’t like macs very much when you’re there looking for mac ram. Watching the 3D printer was super cool. Prices were great.

Micro Center has made me a happy woman on more than one occasion after each of my Macs died on me. They work fast, efficiently and don’t try to sell me on more than I need.
I need to be more diligent with backing up my computer…

This is MicroCenter. I love this store.
For Computers. Camera needs. Electronics. It’s where we get stuff in good deals. Even their own brands are excellent items. Never had a problem.
This place is huge with friendly staff. They explain things, you’ve got questions? They got the answers… and of course they let you meet the manager once you are to purchase. thats a good customer service, impressive.
Huge parking area on the 3^rd floor.
I was always satisfied. And find it always to come back for other electronic needs.

I went there not really wanting to learn about Windows 8. When I left, I felt like an
expert in Windows 8. I’m just over by the laptops looking for the Start Button, and
he like shows me a couple tricks and I’m like «I can do Windows 8 now!»
But now, back to my great Ubuntu machine :-)
This store has all the electronics items you need for your computer, and great service.

Knowlege Bar (4÷14÷14) was worth the trip.
I brought my Lifeless Dell laptop to the Micro Center Knowledge Bar to have one of the Techs look over my PC, and to no avail my PC was dead. However, the Tech was able to create a new file folder and transferred all my files over so, all I needed to do was to save the files on a USB stick.
Unlike Best Buy Electronic Store, Micro Center Techs work on your PC problems right in-​front of you, and there is no fee unless they need to update the hardware or software. The reason why I decided to bring my PC to Micro Center instead of Best Buy — Geek Squad for service is because I read an unfavorable article about Best Buy service in the New York Times last week. And I am glade I chose Micro Center because they could not be nicer and took their time working on my problem.
I would consider buying my next PC at Micro Center.

If Best Buy wasn’t some schmucky place people go to buy washing machines and stuff like that, and instead sold computer stuff, it would be microcenter. Are you thinking about building a PC? Come here, you’ll be able to examine a ton of cases in person, pick up a processor for close to 100 dollars less than Newegg, converse with the friendly and savvy staff, and even take a peek at some super awesome custom PCs while you’re at it.
Tech people rejoice, Microcenter is like walking around in an analogue newegg, and Microcenter is competitive enough to, on occasion, match prices. Selections are great.
Grab some Bawls on the way out.

Staff is very helpful and knowledgeable. I love the ability to order and pick up in store, same day. They have some awesome prices and all the things any techie could want.

Micro center is kinda nerdy and no frills. But when you’re shopping for electronics, you should probably head to where the geeks are.
I bought/​reserved an expensive camera online and picked it up in store. The purchase was a gift, and I used my debit card so my husband wouldn’t see it on our common cc statement. When they rang me up for $ 850, my debit card was declined. The polite young lady did the thing where you blame the computer and tried again. Declined again. I snootily informed her that there was nothing wrong with my card and asked her to ring me up at a different register. She obliged, and I was declined there 2 more times. She delicately suggested I call the bank, and I told her I would do that but again, I had money.
I called Bank of America and they informed me they had a policy in place where they reject any purchase over $ 500. Ridiculous. I told them to remove this policy and they wouldn’t?! They did agree to to approve the next charge that came through, but I had to wait 20 minutes and then ask Micro try again. B of A only offered this solution after I asked to cancel my accounts.
I returned to the counter shamefaced and apologized to the cashier. I explained the situation and again apologized that she would have to redo the whole thing again in 20 minutes. She was gracious and forgiving. I made sure to tell her manager what a dummy I had been and how patient she was with me.
5 stars for knowing about the camera when I came in to ask questions. 5 stars for actually having it in stock as promised when I did the online pickup. 5 stars for A+ customer service while I was being an annoying customer.

This place is a great electronics store. The service is outstanding. They do anything that they can to help you out, whether you are buying a $ 3 battery or a computer.
The people here actually know what they are doing, which is nice considering places that I love to shop at (ie-​Best Buy) have help that knows as much or less than I do.
The only thing I don’t like… Long lines at the checkout. It seems as if they cannot get enough register help.
