Yelm’s Steakhouse serving New York, Ribeye and Flat Iron steaks along with our wonderful burgers. Breakfast is a must in our kitchen from country fried steak to pancakes. Try the amazing down south BBQ from our own smoking cooks.

History

Established in 2015.

Newly opened, New management and owner’s. We are taking our twist on Dinner and Steaks that we have learned in our travels from down south to Wyoming and putting them to work in our food.

Good food and service.
My only complaint is the LONG wait, even when it’s not as busy .
Other than that great food. Burgers are good,
Ribs aren’t, they’re okay. The pulled pork could also use more flavor.

the plate I order was pretty bland.
Plus there is no baby changing table.

Ate here for lunch the other day and really liked it. The staff was nice and friendly and our food came out quickly. I had never had fried pickles before and they were amazing. Really laid back place and I think my kids would have really liked it there. Will definitely be returning.

The waitress was awesome first of all. They were out of half the menu. No steaks or milkshakes which is two big staples they are know for. The food was subpar for the price and greasy. Not impressed.

Every so often a craving for a tasty burger just hits you. Well, this is the place for burgers. You might need to hit the treadmill for an extra 20 minutes but it’s worth it. YUM.

Great Community Service! My son plays on a Premier football team that practices in Yelm. The Cattleman brought out lunch for all the players, coaching staff and parents free of charge today. The owner personally delivered the food, bringing with him another staff member, to sever these young athletes. He also stayed to watch practice and offer them his support. As a small business owner in the food industry myself, I know from personal experience it is not cheap or easy to feed a field of young, hungry athletes. For going above and beyond, The Cattleman management and staff deserves recognition.
Thank you for your support of local organized sports, your sense of community and your generosity! The food was also amazing! I personally wish your establishment continued success!

The waitress was friendly and the fried pickles were excellent. I had a salad and my coworker ordered a steak. The food was expensive… they ended up overcharging by ten dollars for my salad, which they later refunded. My coworker was talking about steak all day and took maybe 5 bites and wouldn’t eat it. There was a hair in a side dish of broccoli. That dish was replaced, but none of us felt like brocolli after that. The food took 45 minutes. It was 5 minutes to closing time before we got our food. I do NOT recommend this place to anyone

I’m only giving a one star, because the option to give a zero isn’t happening. Went in on a Saturday morning, the house was not quite packed, service was slow. We were served our coffee that came with half a cup of grounds, and 30 minutes later, our server never came by once to refill. Ridiculous, believing this to be a prelude to the quality of food being served, we opted out and simply left!

I am stopping my meal to write this review.
So, I just moved to Yelm and me and the wife were driving around checking out the town, when we saw this place. Pulled in and decided to try it out.
First off, I’m a guy that doesn’t really care about food. But this place surpassed my expectations. I have had BBQ in Montana, Texas, Arizona (and weirdly Thailand), and this place competed with the best of them. Now, is this a 30 dollar per plate BBQ joint? No, but I don’t like spending 30 bucks on a meal. But it was damn close. I got the chicken special for 9 bucks and she got the brisket and ribs for 16. We both were amazed by the size of the serving and the BBQ (sweet). We purposefully ate just half our meal so we could have lunch tomorrow.
So, if you are near JBLM this place is worth the drive. Also, they are kind enough to do a 10% military discount. Does it get better than that?

Arrived at 6:30 a.m., all windows and doors were open strong smell of propane lead server said someone had left the propane on all night, yet they were still going to fire up the grill and serve people, they should have called the fire department first to make sure everything was ok.

Under new ownership. The burgers are great as they always have been. Their tot’s and fries have not faired as well though. I had the tots, my son had the fries. A definite fishy smell and taste to them.

Steaks overcooked. Fish and chips bland.
We ordered medium rare and medium ribeyes. Thin and overcooked is what we got. More like well done.
The fish and chips was not much more than what you get in the frozen aisle at Safeway.
Service was good though. Very quick and friendly.

We’ve always been happy with what we’ve gotten here. I’ll never forget when I first opened my coffee stand and was working Thanksgiving, they gave me free dinner. It was great to feel appreciated. My family and I try to support this business when we choose to eat out. Food has always had great taste and service is good.

Interesting place, more of a «Cowboy theme to it– did try any of the burgers, but they’ve obviously put some thought into them as most of them are different then what you get at other burger places.
I went with the Beer battered Fish and Chips, but went with the Tatter Tots instead of the fries and they were good IMO, the fish was pretty good, but IMO had better tatter sauce,
Wife went with the Briscit, and for drinks I went of course with Pepsi.
Overall, very good, and 100% sure we will be back here, and I would recommend this place!

This place is the bomb! Gets pretty loud. Food was hot and tasty. This ain’t fast food, so allow sometime.
My deluxe was pretty tasty.
Wii1 ate all her burger/​fries & ½ my fries.
Ms K really liked her fish & chips.

Thought we would give this new business a try. The steak was delicious and cooked exactly as asked. The sides however need work. The mixed veggies were barely warm, mushy and lacked any flavor. The mashed potatoes seemed like instant, not seasoned and seemed mixed with just water. The gravy instant and had glops of unmixed goo. The roll nothing special. The shrimp tasty and well cooked. For a $ 23.00 meal I expected more. If they fix the sides this could be a great place to dine. For most of the meal there was only one waitress in site. She was working really hard to keep up but could have used help. Owners please clean up your sides! I really want to love having a steakhouse in Yelm but if you are going to charge steakhouse prices your going to have to kick it up a notch!

This place has been our favorite for years, so when they closed we were heart broken. Then it reopened, by New management, and we were curious if it would be as good the bunk house. It was better. My honey had the hobo, I had the sausage gravy. The sausage gravy was sooo good! And the hobo looked awesome, and the way he made it disappear it must have been great! :-) The hostess and waitress were awesome too! They also have Wi-​Fi. Happiness!!! :-)

We were big fans when this was the bunkhouse and we are still loving this place. Best breakfast in town… They have a great deal to choose from.
We have also had their dinner… Captains platter wasn’t enough food for my husband and the fish filets were a bit small. I had the pulled chicken sandwich and it was yummy. The waitress are super friendly and always smiling.
