Captiva Salon & Spa is the best salon in Yarmouth, from the first time I came through the door, I could not believe how beautiful the salon is. The atmosphere is relaxing, welcoming, and inviting.
I wanted something different for my hair, something sassy and fun, Bernadette was able to listen to what I wanted, and it turned out even better than I imagined.
My hair has never looked better, I feel so alive with my new hairdo! My friends tell me how wonderful my hair looks and they love the new cut. I know this is because of Bernadette’s special attention to detail.
Captiva is a full service salon, for all of my beauty needs.

Honestly– these people don’t even deserve ONE star! As an ex-​employee if this «establishment» I can literally picture the review that was posted just this past February, playing out! This place is a completely toxic environment– which is why they continue to have a revolving door of employees! I was their longest employed at a year and a half of employment. The only ones who never leave are the owner and her daughter– they rule the roost! This place does not deserve to continue treating the patrons of the town of Yarmouth with such disrespect. Nor should they have the right to continuously treat their employees in such a demeaning way. It’s a shame that this place will continue providing services until they can no longer find customers to abuse, employees to brain wash or ability to stay in good financial standings. To future customers: think twice about scheduling an appt here. Yes they each do fabulous work however, it is not worth the hassle. To future employees: don’t even bother! Literally! Keep looking for a different job. I bet you’d deal with less abuse and drama pushing carts and bagging groceries at the local Hannaford’s.

First let me start off by saying my haircut and my mother’s turned out lovely.
But we will not be returning… ever.
The hairdresser we had (I forget her name but I will update when I find out) left shortly after we had our hair done. She was a new hairdresser to that salon which is why it is strange that she left so soon after starting. Strange, I guess, if you hadn’t sen the way the owner talked at her and lectured her. If I had been on the receiving end of that I would have left as well.
I had a question about an Aveda product and instead of letting my hairdresser answer it she shouted an entire sales schtick at me from three chairs away. I don’t like being sold or shouted at.
When my mom was getting her hair cut I was waiting in one of the two chairs by the door. Apparently a customer was getting their hair straightened and the fumes were overwhelming in the salon so they left the door open… the entire hour and half to two hours we were there… it was December in Maine.
As I was sitting there a gentleman came in for his appointment with the owner. He was right on time and she was talking to a customer that was leaving. She told him to have a seat and she would be with him shortly. 15 minutes went by with her talking to another customer about buying Louis Vuitton handbags and youtube videos. I can’t believe he waited.
The salon wasn’t bad and like I said the haircuts were great but I refuse to ever give the owner any further business. I hope I can figure out what other salon our hairdresser went to.
