McGuire’s Irish Restaurant And Pub

Came here from out of town with my boyfriend who is a native. Nice place with strong drinks and a horrible barstaff.
Right when we walked up the bartender was cd and rude. Her attitude never improved even when she was getting tips from myself and other customers. I’ve never had a waitress be so rude and yell at customers to ask them if they want anything when there wasn’t even loud music on. I will not be returning.

A few years back when I went here, I never received such rude service. Treated horribly, bad waitressing and dirty glasses and furniture. No welcome environment just stair downs and glares from locals and staff.

Oh please its a locals fovorite really its kinda of a good hole in the wall just a place to go where everyone knows you if your into that. If I were from out of town try Bert s pub across the road.

The party melt was amazing! It was served with a mountain of amazing fries. The monte Cristo was creative, but delicious. It was pretty empty, but the staff was friendly.

Delicious food at a good pace. Full, well decorated plates with fun extras like what tasted like home made pickles and pickled beats. A random unique clientele kept to themselves while adding to the fun cozy atmosphere. I will mark this down as a MUST RETURN establishment. My suggestion: order off the specials board… it really was a good value.

Different sort of place. A bunch of regulars are there. That is always a good sign as people don’t keep coming back if it is not good.
I had a NY steak. Good. Good serivce. Fair price. will go back.

Awesome food and service. I did a Yakima bar tour and this place was my favorite for sure.

McGuire’s is great! It’s a great place to go and have a beer. The bartenders are friendly and quick, and the outdoor area is always nice when the weather’s hot.

Great bar, bad service. If you don’t mind the bad service, this is a great bar to hang out with friends. Lots of locals. mostly white people.

Best dive bar in Yakima, hands down. Possibly the best bar in Yakima!
The bartenders are friendly, they make strong drinks and if you go a few times, they’ll know what to make when you walk in the door.
The crowd there is always friendly, too. Whether you sit at the bar, a table, by the dart boards or on the (somewhat hidden) patio, you’ll have a good time. Love the jukebox, too.
Never ate dinner there, but they have appetizers later in the night. They’ll only make you some if you ask nicely though! :-)

We went here on a date night a little while ago and it was fantastic! One of the best black and tan’s i’ve ever had made for me, and the dinner was fantastic. I had the bubbles and squeak and he had the shepard’s pie, BOTH were fantastic! We were there on a slow day before the drinking crowd rushed in (they were coming in as we were leaving) and it was perfect. The waiter who was also working the bar was very attentive and made sure we were taken care of. My BF’s salad came with pickled beets, which I LOVE and he hates, and I haven’t had any since my grandma passed, so I snatched his up with glee! Well I guess the server noticed because he brought me a small plate with more for no charge! It was very nice. The place is small, (I’m pretty sure it’s a doublewide converted into a bar: D) but it’s clean, the bar looks great, the atmosphere is friendly and the service was fantastic. If you are looking for a place to have dinner just make it an early dinner and you won’t have to worry about lack of service due to all the drinkers. If you’re looking for a drink, show up a little later and have the best black and tan ever!!!

Wow, you never know what you’re going to get with local pubs. McGuire’s doesn’t look like much but the food was great. We only had two appetizers, the nachos and hot wings, but they were awesome. The nachos were served on a large oval plate, heaping with cheddar cheese, beef, tomatoes, olives and onions. The wings were a little greasy but came out hot and were extremely tender. We were expecting a small snack and got all we could eat. This seemed to be a neighborhood watering hole. Most of the patrons knew each other and one of the guys engaged us in conversation right away. This is a neat place for a drink and appetizers.

OK, here is the deal-​ee-​o. It’s a quirky Irish pub in a town not really known to have lots of Irish folks. Staff is nice, food it not bad (weekend brunches awesome), and the drinks flow fast. And they have a dart board… that’s my game! Comparatively, place ain’t bad. Tends to have a slightly older crowd but the kids roll on in in the evening. I’ve gotten good and loaded there and had many of nice, sometimes weird/​interesting, conversations with some nice minded folks.

Pretty good SMALL Irish pub in the middle of now where! If your in the middle of no where… EAT HERE! The bacon cheese burger was so good. Amazing.

Pretty small place and tends to get crowded, usually they are understaffed but the bartenders are great. Never had any of the food, so I don’t know about that but the drinks are stiff!
One of the few bars that I still frequent, last time I was there– a jukebox singalong brokeout and the whole bar was singin the chorus to the Proclaimers song, «I would walk 500 miles»

Good food, great service, good drinks, and the waitress was awesome. Everyone enjoyed the «bar food» appetizers (rolled quesadillas, fried steak fingers) and the bubble and squeak was delicious. Can’t say it was fine dining, but for what it is, it’s really pretty good.

Service sucks! food, eh… atmosphere: excellent!
I won’t go back… but if you are over 40 they will probably treat you with at least a tiny shred of respect.
I feel a little bad saying that as the last time I was there the two servers were totally bum rushed with the bert’s crowd when bert’s closed… but, that being said: I wasn’t drunk and I would have totally tipped more if the service was better. I would like to like it more, but the service sucks, always does.
