This place is the worst I’ve had in a long time. Food must have been left over from when they built the great wall in China. Most of the other customers looked like the best food they have on average comes from a roach coach. Avoid this place at all costs.

For the food wise it’s a 4 star, while some items may be greasy it’s pretty good and tastes like authentic Chinese food and in Yakima that’s pretty hard to come around! While the interior could be updated but nonetheless the food was pretty good compared to other Chinese restaurants.

I come here often with my grandma, she seems to enjoy this place a lot. You can’t beat their price for an all you can eat buffet. In fact, it’s the only legitimate«all you can eat Chinese buffet» in the valley. So if you’re craving, it’s pretty much the only choice you got whether you like it or not. I feel like I’m at a constant battle to get the drink of my choice, it’s frustrating, they constantly remind you that it’s a charge for another drink as if they don’t want you to get it. The servers seem annoyed. I come in, I get greeted, I get asked what drink I want, I say I want water and a soda. But later on I would want tea, and I’ll get«but you already have a soda» so I don’t know. The food is mediocre at best, stay on the aisle where the fried rice, noodles, green beans is located. It’s cooked on the daily. Be aware of your drink with your party when you all have ordered a soda, because they tend mix the cups up. I got my uncles cup in the refills process, I found out with the straw tasting like cigarettes. Hopefully your eat is more enjoyable than mine.

Looking at the positives, I’d say that China Buffet is best at feeding large hungry groups, especially around lunch time. Come here if you are going for quantity rather than quality, although the quality is descent. The selection is broad from American dishes like pizza & chicken nuggets to Chinese dishes like orange chicken, rice and noodles. They also have a salad bar(although it’s considered a buffet trap but if you want something healthier it’s there), ice cream with cones, sea food dishes, and much more. Free water and at the end they will give you a fortune cookie. :) The younger servers are friendlier and some of the servers are still learning English. Feel free to ask them how to say something in Chinese(like 谢谢). The fish are also cool to look at and the scenery. In my opinion, I would only go at lunch time since dinner is more expensive. A great place to hang with friends and fill up. :) Also, there is one in Walla Walla, WA.

This is the first time in years that I have brought my business here. It will also be the last time. Let me say that I’m not impressed ATALL. The food is mediocre and greased to the max. The sanitary conditions are appalling. Some of the containers are so worn out that they look like they’ve been chewed by a dog. One of the soy container’s expired in 2007. Either that’s a 7 year old soy sauce or that container is 7 years. OVER seven years because we know that the exploration date is always printed months ahead of the date in which it actually expires. The prices are over the top exaggerated for what they offer. They ask 11 per person for canned food, frozen meats, and pasty treats that seem to have been baked ages ago. PLUS a $ 2 drink. Finally, I would like to let everyone know that the tips that are left are not given to the waiters. The owners keep the tips or choose to get paid hourly.

I wrote an email to the Yakima health department expressing my concerns of this place and I never received a response. So if anyone gets any food related illness from them, you can also blame the fine government officials at the Yakima health department.

This place is in a sad state of repairs. Men’s room — totally disgusting. Furniture and furnishing dirty and sticky and worn, carpets dirty and worn. Tile floors cracked and damaged, repaired with some kind of concrete? patch material. Very ugly. Food was highlight, at average, if that can be a highlight. Soft serve icecream, but NO toppings. None! Was part of group of 10, got charged for 11; all of us got charged $ 1.50 for drinks, even though several of us had water. There are too many places with better food and certainly MUCHMUCH better facilities. How does this place stay open??? Will NEVER be back.

The bathroom toilets were out of order. They were out of rice. The veggies were nuked, sad, and floppy. The chicken and coconut shrimp were dry. Finally, what kind of Chinese restaurant only serves black tea in a diner mug? Didn’t even have chopsticks. This place is the worst.

Okay, we know that going to a Chinese Buffet the standards shouldn’t be too high. The food is alright, greasy for sure, MSG, oh yes. Largest seafood selection for this town. Fresh? No. Price? high in my opinion. Now, let’s get to why this restaurant only got 1 star, THEBATHROOMS. Ever see Trainspotting? Well, I found the world’s second disgusting one. For starters it was like walking into a dark alley to make a bad deal, then I walk into the larger stall to find a very large bucket full of toilet paper streaked with urine and poo. The toilet paper was strung all over the floor, none in the rolls. The toilet was worse, oh so much worse, wads of toilet paper there. Then I preceded to the second stall, no toilet paper and the lady trying to use it was gagging. Poo and pee everywhere. I tried to wash my hands, no soap, and glacier like water for the hot water. To make matters worse, I asked, kindly, if anyone had seen the lady’s restroom. A blank stare was all I got, then followed by rude excuses as to why I couldn’t use the restroom. Being in the restaurant biz, this is the worst thing EVER. If you don’t have a working toilet, you don’t have an operable restaurant. I told this to the staff; which lead to more arguing on their side. More arguing when I actually was trying to pay. I told the lady to hurry as I was feeling queasy with visual images of their bathrooms. I then reminded her that I was the customer spending my money at her restaurant and felt entitled to be able to take a piss when needed while dining there. So, if you dare go here, just empty your bladder before you go; and then expect to sit on your own a couple of hours after eating here.

As Chinese buffets go, China Buffet I thought was a bit better than average. The selection is quite large, and all the foods I sampled were quite tasty. The only downside is many of the chafing dishes were very low — but they did get refilled — just had to wait a few minutes, so no big deal. The variety was just what you’d expect, including non-Chinese items such as small grilled cheese sandwiches and other choices for little kids not into Chinese-American foods. I would definitely come back next time I’m in Yakima.

A giant buffet — food was pretty decent as long as you expect buffet quality you won’t be disappointed. $ 10 for all you can eat Chinese food for dinner is pretty darn reasonable in my book. Try the cheese filled wontons they were pretty tasty.

Lots more seafood than I usually see at a Chinese buffet, but the price was higher too. Fairly greasy. The desserts were a step above the usual, if that matters to you.
