I don’t know where to begin!– called this place to do a gift for friends w/​newborns after the place I used a year ago went out of business. After researching diaper services a year ago, I was familiar with the new technology w/​cloth diapers & had a detailed discussion that this place was similar. Ordered the service, paid & they setup an initial meeting with the couple. According to my friends, it was a really difficult & archaic method, they were required to fold diaper in a trapezoid – which was over whelming to them & would be for any new parents. They told the company they weren’t ready yet & they would call–
After 3 months, the company never followed up with me or the couple. The couple decided not to use the service & I immediately called to arrange a refund. They were SO Rude!– talked 1^st w/​Husband/​co-​owner – he was awful to deal with. His wife called me the next day, & started conversation with your checks in the mail – no discussion of what was being refunded & why. Found out, I bought 12 weeks of service, which none of it was used & they were refunding only 8 weeks of service !!!– I have no problem paying them for the time for demo, but 4 weeks of unused service is ridiculous! That’s ¼ of the cost!!-they claim this was part of the contract. We did the transaction over the phone & PayPal – I never saw a contract. Either way, it’s a ridiculous way to handle customers.
Cloth diapers have advanced beyond folding, many companies have items which are prefolded & slip on like a pull-​up. I have no idea what this company is offering, but what a terrible experience!– Avoid this Mickey Mouse outfit, who doesn’t know how to treat customers who are at the core of their business.

I don’t think they are accepting new customers. The phone number has been disconnected, however the website is very misleading and appears as if they ARE taking new business. It’s very strange. I am annoyed.

We moved to Philly from the West Coast where quality diaper services abound. We were lucky to find a service with Lota that was even better than the one we had in the SF Bay — more frequent pick ups for less $. And a very personal feel. We have been very happy.

This was a great service and we are sorry they closed. As first time parents we were overwhelmed by all the baby stuff but cloth diapering was surprisingly easy and our baby never had a diaper rash or leaks. Twice a week pick up was great for managing the smell and Lota always came or emailed to inform us of any changes to schedule due to weather. We will really miss Diapers Plus.

This has been a great service for us. Definitely worth it. One of the owners, Lota, came to our house before we had our girl and showed us how to use them (we never used them before). She was most friendly and very patient with our learning the new skill. Very professional as well. It’s really only an extra step more than disposable diapers and we get to feel good about saving the environment. We’re hoping our girl will potty train faster than children who use disposables. Also, we have never had a problem with diaper rash and we attribute that to having used very clean and soft cloth. With this service, we don’t have to do any of the washing or worry about buying diapers and it is much cheaper than buying disposables.
Thank you, Diapers Plus. We are sorry to see you closing and hope you are able to open your doors again sometime in the near future to other lucky parents!

We LOVE Diapers Plus! They were referred to us by a family who actually were using a different cloth diaper service (with which they weren’t very happy with). Diapers Plus has not disappointed us ever! They have come out in all weather, on holidays, and just generally whenever you wouldn’t expect a service to operate.
Lota is so awesome and knowledgeable. She came out and helped us — we were total newbies to the cloth-​diaper scene and she made it so much easier.
The service provides the prefolds and covers for you — so you don’t have to purchase anything extra. They come twice a week to pick up dirties and drop off clean diapers. They are always very neat, on-​time, professional.
Our cloth diapers really never leaked– even with some pretty explosive poops. We got pretty adept at changing even a very squirmy baby.
Studies show that cloth-​diapered babies potty train faster, sooner, and easier– (our baby is only 8 months, so we’ll see what happens!)
We figured we are probably spending just as much or less using this service than if we used disposables — and we’re being more environmentally-​friendly on top of all the other great things we’ve loved about cloth diapering.
I will admit the one thing we didn’t really get «down» was the over-​night diapering (it’s recommended to change diapers every 2 hours — and I know you can double-​up (we tried that) or add inserts for over-​night diapering, but i felt like we were stuffing our daughter like a little sausage) But, we were also breastfeeding, so I’d be up every 2 hours any way. The older our baby got and she started sleeping more through the night, she peed less so we didn’t need to change her necessarily every 2 hours. However, we did start using 1 disposable occasionally at night just so we could go through an extra nursing without having to get up and change her.)
We highly recommend!

I had been emailing with the owner, Lota, since the beginning of January about starting service the first week in April when I am due. I hadn’t yet gotten a reply to my January 24 email, but had no reason to think I would not be able to use the service.
I had service added to my baby shower registry, and yesterday my Mother in law purchased 12 weeks of service for me.
Diapers Plus, Inc. cancelled her payment, noting they are not accepting new customers. I emailed and called Lota, and when she called back she acted like we hadn’t talked about setting up service and had no empathy for the fact that I am due in three short weeks and was counting on using her service.
I am shocked at the terrible customer service and disregard for prior correspondance and verbal agreement, especially looking at all the other positive reviews for this company.

We LOVE this diaper service! When we signed up, we thought we were going to find it more inconvenient than disposable diapers, but we wanted to do our part for the environment. Now that we’ve tried it, we’ve realized that it’s actually even more convenient than disposable diapers! We were doing so much laundry because the disposable diapers were always leaking, but the cloth diapers haven’t leaked once.
It’s also great to know for sure when the diaper is wet. All the diaper rash the baby had when we were using disposables has cleared up, probably because we are changing him more frequently.
We have found that the diaper service costs about half what we were spending ordering Seventh Generation diapers on
, and it’s so nice to have clean diapers brought to the door instead of having to remember to buy more.
Lota is lovely and very helpful and we love knowing that we are supporting a local family business.

this is a great value – very close to price of disposables and so much better for baby and mother earth. lota and her team make the entire process very easy –deliveries are very reliable and the attention she gives the newbies is greatly appreciated ! when any concern arises –ie sizing, vacation etc –she is on top of it – and something i didn’t think about when i started this… its awfully nice to get supplies delivered to your door and not have to run to the store for diapers !

We were given a 6 month diaper service for a shower gift and it has been amazing. The products are high quality and easy to use, and the service is great. I can’t recommend this enough for anyone thinking of using cloth diapers.
The diapers do give your baby a big butt, however it wasn’t to bad, we just went up a size. We purchased a Décor diaper bin for the nursery and a large Planet Wise wet/​dry bag for the downstairs changing station, these hold the odors fine.
Lota is great — very knowledgeable and professional.

Lota and her team are fabulous. She gives great personal attention to new diapering parents. We had problems with our daughter’s umbilical stump and used disposables for a few days. Lota noticed the low number of dirties, and called to make sure everything was okay. They picked up over the holidays, and have made emergency drop offs at no extra charge. A wonderful value, the 6 month plan is the way to go. Give it a try for a month, and even if you don’t think you’ll be «a crunchy cloth diaper parent» you may surprise yourself with how easy and nice it is to use cloth.

Great service. Perfect for someone who is considering cloth diapering but is not familiar with the process. Lota is very knowledgable and showed me how to use the diapers. For the price of their service I think you are getting a very good deal. Cannot recommend enough!

Loved using the diaper service of Diapers Plus. It made things so easy when everything was super busy after bringing home our new baby. They were also easy to work with to change sizing when baby grew out of the newborn sizing. You can contact them through email or by phone. Response was always quick! We really liked that they took the time to come to your house to do a demo on how to use the diapers if you have never done cloth before. I recommended this company to several people already.

This is truly a valuable and highly affordable service. Lota is on top of her game and makes being a customer a pleasure during the very hectic time of having a newborn. If you’re thinking about making the switch to cloth, I highly recommend diapers plus. I can’t imagine being dependent on disposable diapers.
