Loved their breakfast tacos initially. Would go every Monday. However, one Monday I noticed the son cooking. Uh, oh. This kid is not a cook and would much rather be doing something else. The last time I was there he was handling raw chicken and making my tacos at the same time. This is a no no. They gave me a stomach ache and I threw half of them away. Not going back.

FIVESTARS for When Speedy 1st opened it was the awesome. Had about 5 things on the menu, and maybe 4 employees including the original owner Marco. Tacos were on point. The green salsa MYFAVORITE. The piña loca a family favorite. Flan my favorite! Tamales were awesome and fair priced. I would order for the holidays and he would even make me the sweet ones-luckily I’m the only one in our family that likes em. Their loss my gain huh. However more employees were hired and menu got bigger and bigger. Less focus on the quality of food. Literally too many cooks in the kitchen. The tastes varied between each visit. The flan became straight liquid that just didn’t set. Marco was on it tho. The next time I went it was corrected. He always was there and listened to his clients. Then. He sold the business about 2 months ago. Talk about down hill. Employees are grumpy. Okay… rude! Ordered pozole and it was simply water. Colored water with a few pieces of masa and undercooked meat, it was rubbery and for lack of better description GROSS! Again the cooks and employees don’t seem like they are there to please their loyal clients they are there to make money. Unfortunately they have lost a lot of my family and friends that visited and ate a fantastic low prices meal. Disappointed. 5 stars for previous owner. ZILCH for the current ones. I wouldn’t be surprised if this place goes under. I give it 6 months.

Finally made it over to Speedy Taco for some breakfast tacos. Very good tacos with bacon being the best. Green sauce was on par but did not care to much for the red sauce just a little pasty. Indulged with potato and egg and chorizo and egg. The menudo must be pretty good because at every table someone was having a bowl and to go orders were popping. Look forward to trying their street tacos!!!

Want authentic Mexican food go here. Want tex mex go somewhere else. But be wary, if you are a stingy stuck up nub you will not like it. *cough 2 reviews down cough*. Don’t go after normal dinner times or the tamales are sometimes burnt. But I go in there after sometimes expecting a burnt tamale, get one, and I don’t even care it is that freaking good. The reason some stuff on the menu is because the tacos and tamales are just so much better. Don’t go in expecting normal what you think to be Mexican food, go in expecting a little taste of Mexico. Quick tip– don’t like the sauces they give you? Go to Kroger and find their homemade salsas. There will be one that you find that fits you just right for the perfect, Speedy Taco. Quick tip #2– If you despise cilantro try one taco with it on there. Their cilantro is something else man. It is something else.

Ordered lunch for my team since we wanted to try it out. Ordered chicken fajita tacos and Pork tacos. When I get back to work and my staff begins to eat, I just see one of them gagging after the first bite. Chicken was so dry and some of the chicken was questionable. Didn’t look like chicken? More like the gizzards and talons from the chicken!!! Looks like they just use the food leftover from the day before food and leave it in the heat lamp or reheat it. Even the corn tortillas were from the day before. Stale and chewy. Just an overall bad experience. Called the number to the restaurant and it goes to someone’s voicemail. Not even a landline phone tied to the business. It’s sad cause I recommended this place since I had tried breakfast tacos and they were awesome. Lunch or dinner questionable???

I really wanted to like this place but customer service and taste is just not there. I ordered my food the guy took my money and went right to making my food. Didn’t wash his hands! So I pointed it out to him, he wasn’t happy about it and it showed.

Tacos are $ 1!!! I had 3 Al Pastor… very good. The quesadilla was ok. The green hot sauce is excellent! The place is small, but it’s clean and the people are nice.

Went here last week beacuse another place I goto was closed for the bad roads. As a wylie resident I was hoping this was goin to be better than my usual spot. Drove back home, about a 10min drive and unpacked for the wife and kiddo and was instantly dissapointed just by looking at it. The refried beans were all crusty dried out looking, maybe not mixed around for hours? The rice was bright orange. Uhh, did they add orange food coloring? Also both the rice and beans were almost stone cold. We all had the pork tacos, luckily the meat was hot, but was probably the greasiest pork street taco I’ve had. Needless to say I will not visit this establishment untill I hear better. Btw I never write reviews but I feel a simple dish like this should be Way better.

We picked up dinner there and we thought it was going to be good. They didn’t have half the things on the menu, she said they no longer had them because she said they didn’t sell. It’s hard to believe that charro beans, taco meat, alambre and other things were not on the menu anymore. So we had very limited options. We got the fajita, barbacoa and chicken tacos. I’ve never had anything like the fajita I got, greasy stringy fatty meat, tiny oily corn tortillas with a bit of onion on top. The barbacoa was greasy and chewy, cheap meat with the same oily corn tortillas. The chicken was ok but cut into tiny pieces. The flan was bland as were the rice and refried beans. I paid a dollar for a scoop of refried beans. Yes they are dollar tacos but they are poor quality and greasy and not much meat and about as big as a computer mouse. The salsa is so hot you don’t want to go anywhere near it and I am someone who loves spicy food. The chips are cold and thick and just not good at all. We threw most of it away, would have been all but we were really hungry. I would say it’s inedible. Go to Frankie’s for Mexican food or anywhere else for that matter.

Boy! I was not expecting to like this place. There is a meat option in here called Guiso(spicy pork with red sauce!), I could just eat that with cilantro and onion by the pan! Another one you would need to try is called alambre(peppers, chorizo, and something else!) is quite delicious! The barbacoa is yummy too! Ordered chicken tortilla soup, a little inconsistent(sometimes plain, sometimes too salty), but it’s like a hug in a bowl! Very comforting. Another thing that I LOVE is the fact that they have HORCHATA! I have searched high and low and finally found it here! If you never try this… You got to! Sweet rice drink with cinnamon… Bomb diggity! Finally, flan for dessert. A big cup full of flan for $ 2… Let’s go! Got one last time with slightly burned caramel syrup, creating a nutty flavor that’s not my favorite; but most of the time, good! Overall, enjoyed this place and the people are cool too. Gotta come and check this place out!

I had only a few minutes to spare when I decided to try Speedy Taco. They were speedy! Ha! I ordered the $ 1 street tacos and due to their size was told people generally order 3 – 6. I opted for 4. Chicken, steak, ground beef with pico and barbacoa. They offered to onions and pico and two sauces. The green was mild and the orange was super hot! They were delicious! I will most certainly be back not only for the tacos but also to try the other breakfast, enchiladas, etc options.

We love Speedy’s, we are there 2 – 3 times a month. Good, authentic Mexican food. Can’t beat $ 1 street tacos. The family that runs the place are very nice and even make us breakfast burritos at night.

This place is awesome! $ 1 Street tacos, awesome meats, really great nachos! All the flavors are excellent. The service is always friendly, as they are a family owned and run restaurant. Speedy’s is one of our favorite places to go when we crave tacos!(Or in my case, nachos!)

Speedy Tacos — $ 1 each and they were killer! There are 4 in this pic! Next to Meteor Burger. Go tonight. We went back for lunch today. Now trying to figure out when we will visit for breakfast this week. BTW, ignore any negative comments from other reviewers, this place if the real deal. Fresh limes and cilantro too along with onions and your choice of meat:

Authentic Mexican food. Good and delicious. Quesadillas DF style. I love the Tacos. I deff recommend especially since Wiley is filled with shitty tex mex places and its CHEAP. I mean you can’t complain the prices are very for those who like spicy and authentic this whole in the wall place is your go to. Food is affordable and it beats jack tacos. You’re getting your money’s worth.

Let me just say I love street tacos. If I have any reason to be downtown I usually hit Fuel City for some pastor and beef fajita tacos and an order of elote. So when I saw this place was opened I was excited. Its not the greatest but the tacos are decent and the prices are awesome. Took my family one night and my kids actually ate the tacos which surprised me since they are so picky. Last weekend we got some breakfast tacos. Like I said, the price is right and they’re decent tacos. Family owned and operated which to me is always a huge plus. Hope they stick around!

Tiny, unassuming Mom & Pop & kid cheap street taco place. Nothing fancy here folks, so don’t be expecting Torchy’s, or Fuzzy’s. These are little $ 1 street tacos. If you like that type of thing, you’re in the right place. Similar to what you get on a good Mexican food truck serving construction workers, or at other hole in the wall Taquerias. There are other items available which I haven’t tried. Fifty cent fried, un-battered party wings. Gotta get some of those. Tortas, Elotes, Tamales, Sopes, etc. I’ve been several times to get my Mexican Fritos craving satisfied. «Conchitas Brand», corn chips are the bomb. best regards, larry mac
