For being a small, local mom-and-pop restaurant, they are pretty worth going to to sit down and eat there. There menu is pretty big, they have a large selection of menu choices for breakfast, lunch and dinner. However they really lack a fine dining appearance inside and out. The parking lot is pretty small too. And they need to expand their hours because they close pretty early most days.

First time eating here, great breakfast menu, fast, friendly service, clean, beautiful waitresses, the breakfast I ordered was a Special #1 with 3 pancakes, eggs over easy, sausage and bacon with a Coke. I will get the fluffy eggs next time. They taste better. The pancakes were above average, easy to chew and digest, tasty. Last one was dry. But still edible. I will try more items out on their menu in the future.

Michaels’s has been open for awhile after their fire. Even though it was rebuilt inside it still looks pretty much the same. The best thing I seen was the Buffalo Wings chairs being used in the dining room. Looks like some of the pre fire employees are back to work there, which would indicate to me that there is some bad service to be had like the past. Went for my standard omelet breakfast, it was hot and tasty and there was plenty to eat. My only gripe would be with the coffee. Sorry I judge a breakfast a lot on the coffee and how often refills are made. My decaf coffee was barely warm and trying to get a refill was a trying experience. Also I noticed that all the pre fire characters that were here every day were not insight during my visit. Did they land at another place to eat?

«I just ate my food because was hungry,» said Frank, who spoke for all of us. The only thing that was good was the service. This is why Brent almost gave Michael’s two faces because the waitress’s name was Vanessa and he likes that name. As for me: my omelette was OK, my hash browns were both soggy and burnt(is that possible?), my toast was not very toasted, the coffee was bland, the ketchup was black and the interior of the restaurant was just a step above a Greyhound bus station. «It’s really depressing here,» said Cascio, and that’s why Michael’s Pancake House in Worth, IL get’s a very Worth-while rating of 1.5 Brent faces.

Upon entering this dump I should have followed my gut and left. No friendly greeting, seats held together with duct tape, stereo blaring, not very clean, just poorly kept, pick a seat and wait. A good ten minutes later before a cook brought us out menus, said hi, and offered us drinks, still haven’t seen a waitress, couldn’t imagine this place during a rush. Food was priced ok at $ 25 for two. Read the other reviews, my opinion, the food was less than average. The bacon tasted like it had been sitting in days old grease for hours. Had a room temp glass of orange juice, that looked like someone had been chewing on the rim(the highlight of my meal). Poor ventilation didn’t help while the kitchen burned toast filling the dinning room full of smoke. Overall, poor food quality. I probably wouldn’t have posted this novel had the service been half way decent, but you don’t even get a ‘thank you, have a nice day’ at the end of your experience. For whatever reason it seemed the waitresses only wanted to serve a portion of the customers. I got a warmer greeting from the cook than I did the waitress who seemed to hate life. First and last visit, don’t be disappointed… there are much better choices. Owners want advice… narrow down the menu, it is overwhelming and hire some staff that care about your place. Might cost some money, but do something about the seating, it is really worn out for even a hot dog stand.

I admit this place is a little hole in the wall, but their breakfast is by far the best for the price. I get the country breakfast which consists of; biscuits and gravy, egss, hash browns, and bacon for under 6 bucks! Cant beat that anywhere! So if your all about the looks of a restraunt, this place might not be your cup of tea. I also forgot to mention that they have the best coffee too! At micheals its all about the food!

We walked in and immediately felt like we had walked on to a Rob Zombie movie set — if he were directing Happy Days. Very much a Midwestern small town diner in the middle of the south end of the city. As quaint as everything is — it isn’t manufactured to look quaint — it just is. Odd art that some local person created is hanging all over the walls — and is for sale. Every manner of person from the reddest of necks to the bluest of blood to the whitest of trash can be found eating their deliciously prepared food. The waitress — Beverley — warned us that if we come back any day but Tuesday — she’ll give us a «run for our money.» Tuesday is tough because the lunch special is «almost everything.» There is a HUGE dry-erase board that says the special is «almost everything on the menu — $ 4.95.» Coffee was great — service was better. People watching was nearly peerless. Quirky little place. Almost hate to talk about it because if it gets too popular — it might lose the charm — but I am willing to take the chance — if only to get enough people there to keep them happy and healthy and OPEN!

Walked in here on a Tuesday morning, and was instantly whisked back to a childhood of off-the-beaten-path road trips. This place really belongs in some small, rural farming community in central Wisconsin, or somewhere similar to that. It is very dated in architecture and decoration(Think Naugahyde seats, red soda-fountain stools at the counter, dark, faux-wood paneling on the walls…) but that kind of just adds to it’s charm. We chose a booth, and was promptly greeted by our server, who informed us of the Tuesday breakfast specials. I had to ask her to repeat it because I thought she said«Everything on the menu but steaks and pork chops in $ 3.95 today.» Actually, that is what she said. So after ordering, I sat back with a cup of good, strong coffee, and listened to the casual bantering of the locals sitting at the counter. The food was pretty OK.(on my first visit.) The sausage and cheese omelet I had was good, the hash browns plain but plentiful, but the pancakes were not all that good. Way too dry for my liking. Even butter and syrup only helped out marginally. On my second visit, I had the skirt steak and eggs. Fantastic for the price!(Only $ 8.95!), and the fried eggs I had with it were perfect! And the toast instead of pancaked helped out too! All-in-all, a great kind of greasy-spoon sort of place to catch a cheap and decent breakfast. They are also open for lunch. Also, just as a side note, all the artwork on the walls, and all the artificial flower displays in the windows of this place are all made by local artists, and are available for sale. So if you need a woodcarving of wolves, or an oil painting of cowboys riding off into the sunset, they have it here.

Do NOT go here on a Tuesday! I repeat! Do NOT go here on a Tuesday. I do NOT want the word to get out that everything on the menu(except for steaks) is $ 3.95 on a Tuesday! Once again and I mean it this time, do NOT go here on a Tuesday! I don’t want to have to wait for a table here on a Tuesday once this outstanding news spreads. Our server told us about this very special Tuesday special and we both kind of stared blankly waiting for the catch. the only catch was that steaks are not included with this special. That I can deal with very easily. The regular prices on the menu are very low priced to begin with. The menu is quite large here and the food was good. It did not blow me away by any means but when you receive a good meal, at a good price in good quantity, it rates very highly with me. Our server was great and took very good care of us. This place is your typical diner with typical diner fare. It is set in a little strip mall and if you are driving down the street and you blink, you will miss it. The place is also old and is really looking its age and then some. It was clean and i don’t associate being worn down with being dirty. The question I now have: Is it Tuesday yet? I want more and more!
