Every time I come I have had an issue with the taste of their beer. Even something like a Guinness just tastes off when served here which makes me think they do not clean their tap lines with the frequency they should. The most recent time I went was the final straw the beer tasted so off I couldn’t even drink it. I wont be coming here again if I can avoid it.

Disapointed. Thought this place would be much better. Poor service and the food not so good. With all the choices in Worcester, go elsewhere. Doubt this place will be in business much longer.

Been here many times eclectic crowd of all ages. Friendly staff. Can get crowed or quiet ya never know. Parking tough. Standard bar food. Plenty of tv’s for watching sports. Comfortable relaxed atmosphere. Kudos to the owner/mgmnt. My fav is the pastrami.

Been here twice. Both times couldn’t get a beer or food or a look in our direction. And not for a better lack of trying to get the attention or waiting long enough. Awful.

As someone brand new to town — I struggled to find somewhere to watch football on Sunday. I went to Buffalo Wild Wings — usually an old standard — and spent more time with an empty beer glass than I cared for. So — I tried The Banner after reading on Unilocal that they had several tv’s. My Washington State drivers license threw them off a bit(I’ve gotta get that MA license!) but after looking at a few other forms of ID it was all good. I respect a bar that wants to serve responsibly. They put my game on — even though I was the only one in the bar watching the Browns — kept my beer glass full and were so nice to me. I will absolutely be back — I was there to have a beer and enjoy football and was able to very easily do just that. Michelle was great!

If your looking for consistently good food in a relaxing setting, this is your place! The menu is pretty extensive and even has quite a few Paleo options. Always my «go to» in Worcester to bring friends and family since I know they will not be disappointed. I think the staff is great and super friendly. They always have the current sports games on as well as offering Keno. On a nice day the large front windows open up to the street. Perfect for someone like me who loves the nice weather but doesn’t want to sit outside and melt in the sun.

Not a bad little bar/restaurant. We started out with two orders of 20 cent wings. Buffalo, bourbon and Cajun. The wings were ok, I like mine crispy though and these were not. The Cajun didn’t have much taste but the bourbon ones had nice flavor if you like a sweeter wing. For my meal I had the fish tacos, these were very good. Fish was nice a flaky and they had a nice sauce. Our friend had a HUGE dish of buffalo mac and cheese. This is a two meal dish; dinner and then lunch the next day! Hubby had a pastrami and bacon sandwich and tater tots… So a healthy meal Fyi eat all of your wings! You are not allowed to bring them home… So odd! I didn’t like that there were kids and baby’s! I don’t agree that this place is a «family» restaurant. Let’s be clear, it’s a bar people, just because you have two low top tables on the side doesn’t make you a 99. Plus I think at about 8pm all of a sudden there was a bouncer at the door… Case in point… You’re a bar!

I am glad I didn’t base my decision to dine here on some of these reviews! Went today for lunch after my daughters cheer comp at DCU and it was great! Sure, it’s a bar so don’t expect anything too fancy but the food and service were fantastic! I had the chicken quesadilla, my mom had a chicken wrap, one daughter had pasta and the other the southwest chicken salad! The salad had these awesome big fresh cornbread croutons! Servers work very well together and even the man working keno was friendly! I will definitely go back if I’m in Worcester again!

Probably the best food for a bar in Worcester. Wide variety on the menu for when you are trying to eat well, when you want to splurge, and everything in between. Great specials as well. Fun place to grab a quick bite or meet up with friends to watch the game. Very friendly staff. Try the tuna melt.

Great local bar with good lunch menu. Rotating specials every week so there’s always something fresh and new. Good for lunch, dinner, or late-night drinks.

Went for lunch and I have to say my sandwich was pretty good! Didn’t think the prices were bad.

BANTHEBANNER. I am absolutely disgusted and appalled by the lack of customer service. Our party was told to leave and the only explanation we were given was because one member of our party was intoxicated. We had just arrived and had not even ordered a drink yet. We assumed it was a misunderstanding or a mistaken identity of a banned patron but attempts to seek more information were completely ignored. The«manager» asked the on grounds police officer to escort us out. The officer was sympathetic and was only following orders since I completely understand the rights of business owners. We were glad to take our business elsewhere and will never return. I will be calling the owner to express my disgust.

I’m from out of state, and I only have ONEID, which is my LICENSE that CLEARLY states I’m 21, and everything. The bouncers told me I had to have a «back up ID» for out of state ID’s and when I told him that was my only ID, he turned me away and refused entry to the bar. Never have I ever come across this problem and to be honest, it’s total bullshit. Never will I ever come here again, not that I could anyways since I’m from Wisconsin.

Awful food and awful service! I would never eat at this place of business! The food is gross and lacked flavoring. Don’t go here!

Went here for lunch yesterday. The place had probably 8 people there. The waitresses(with what I was told was one of the owners) were standing around talking and didn’t even acknowledge us. My friend had to wave her hands in the air to flag a waitress down to get a drink. When the waitress finally came over she seemed annoyed that we were«bothering» her. We waited to order food for at least 20 minutes. Again we had to flag our waitress down to get our food order. This place is ridiculous!

Banner bar is your usual 2 – 3 star bar. They have a full menu, for dinner, lunch, whatever. My visit to Banner was the first stop on a bar crawl so we all ate dinner there — I had fish and chips, and we ordered some nachos and mozzarella sticks for the table. Everything was fine, nothing was great. The mozzarella sticks tasted about the same as the kind I have in my freezer at home. The nachos were the usual pile of chips with cheese and jalepenos, with several handfuls of ground beef just thrown on top. No guacamole, or anything else. My fish and chips were fried until everything tasted like an unseasoned french fry. So, you know, alright for a bar crawl dinner but I certainly wouldn’t come here for the food. My drinks were overpriced for what they were — I ordered an iced tea with blueberry vodka(try it — trust me). The waitress told me that she couldn’t get the bartender to make that and brought me a shot of blueberry vodka with a huge cup of iced tea and charged me separately for both. I cannot understand why the bartender refused to make a drink that any other place would have(and did later in the night). The reason this place gets 2 stars instead of 1 is the wait staff. Aside from the bartender, the staff was so friendly and prompt. I wish they had better food, and drinks, and were in a b

Fun place to hang out for a drink or 2 plus appetizers. They have trivia on Wednesday nights. Not a rowdy crowd which is what I like. Service is good. Typical bar food, although the nacho plates aren’t as big as other bars and the chicken was a little dry. The burgers are ok. I haven’t tried other foods. Overall, I’d come here again for a relaxing drink after work.

For a Small Bar it was cool… People somewhat friendly considering i came alone to a local pub. But, it was Monday night Football and they shut down the TV Volume and did some shit Kareoke and the place went empty. They made me stand up when the DJ arrived since there was no where to sit. No one started conversation with me but they offered me a free beer to move. Bill was very cheap as wings are only .50 Cents each on Monday.

One of my favorite casual places to go in Worcester. Hit up Monday nights for 10 cent wings. You can choose from different flavors — buffalo, honey barbecue, cajun, or parmesan garlic. The food is good and the prices are extremely reasonable. Good service and they have Keno too. Big tv’s all around, so it’s a great place to catch a sports game.

I have only been in The Banner a couple of times but its always crowded with wasted women and big dudes in polo shirts, not really my scene, but whatever floats your boat. They can make a strong drink, however you have to elbow through the crowds to get one. However, their downfall is inconsistency with the hours. I have gone out of my way to go to the banner at least half a dozen times(it says on their door that they are open til 2am daily) and been turned away because they are closed, sometimes as early as 11pm?! Several times I have tried to go after I get out of work and meet my friends and they won’t let me in the door at 1am– last call is not til 1:45 and the bar has people in it?! I won’t try to go back again.
