My sister liked Dr. H so much that she recommended her. Now, Dr. H takes care of my whole family (kids and adults). She quickly and accurately addressed some long-​term health issues that troubled us for many years. Whenever one of us has a problem, it shows that Dr. H is thinking about our medical treatment even after we leave her office. I have received several unexpected calls from her at home to disuss medications or referrals to specialists.
Her personal attention is VERY impressive, especially at a time when other doctors are relying more on physician’s assistants or nurses. I actually get to talk to the doc when I have a sick child or if I have questions about lab results. Never had such luck with other docs.
I expected to see a lot of positive reviews…
So, I must also comment that I have very good interactions with Dr. Hamawi’s medical assistant. I appreciate that they run a tight ship, and I rarely have to wait more tha 15 minutes when I have an appointment. And… I’ve been a real pain in the butt every time I need physicals for the kids for school or sports. They bend over backwards to help me.
9÷16÷12 UPDATE: My first post was a while ago, and I just want to say that Dr. H and Alexina are still amazing! Most recently, my son has some kind of unusual type of infection, and Dr. H has given us appointments the same day we called and she even called me at home 2 weekends in a row to follow up on his progress with the medication. AMAZING!

It is very difficult to find a good doctor especially one that actually cares about the level of care they provide.
Upon calling Dr. Hamawi’s office I was a little taken a back at the rudeness of the receptionist. No, ‘how are you, thanks for calling’ or any other pleasantries. I thought well, perhaps she was having a bad day… think again.
When I went to my first apointment the receptionist didn’t even say hello– she said «insurance card please.» I was like ok, well maybe she is just having another bad day. I waited 15 mintutes for my insurance to be verified and was presented with a ’ Patient’s To Do List” of sorts. Then I was escorted into an exam room. Turns out the receptionist is also the intake person.
She went through all the questions and got to the family medical history. She asked me about asthma and I said that my father died from an asthma attack. She as like, «What?» as if to say people don’t die from asthma attacks. No ’ Oh Im so sorry…,” or anything. Then– to top it all off– she looked at my baby (who was with me) and said «is the father caucasian?» I was appalled. I must have looked stunned because she then said, «oh my fiancé is dominican and I want to know what color my baby’s skin will be.» Um awkward and rude much?!
So this was just the receptionist… Dr. Hamawi came in after making me wait with my crying infant for another 15 – 20 mintutes. Keep in mind I could hear her talking in the hallway with the receptionist. She gave me a look over, was in the room for 5 min and said you are all set. That was it.
I am extremely disapointed with her service and that of her staff. Skip her and find a better doctor. Stat.
