Red Cab

Red cab is a fucking horrible service. I tried to get a ride to school and they took two hours to get to my house. I was extremely late and they served me with a bad attitude. I will never be using this cab service again and I suggest all of you to not use it either. If I could give it –100 stars, I would

Called for a service to the Logan express in Framingham and was picked up at 8am. Took 25 minutes from Shrewsbury with no traffic which I’m told is a stupidly long time. We wanted to get the 8:30 bus to Logan but the driver drove past the bus at 8:25 and then couldn’t figure out his credit card machine so that at 8:33 when we ran to the pickup with our bags, the bus had already left.
The cab also reeked of nauseating amounts of air freshener and stale cigarettes and there was only one functioning seatbelt in the back seat.
Never again.

Had an emergency last Friday. Red Cab saved the day. They were professional, polite and efficient. I highly recommend them and will use them again when I am in the area. The details: I was in Shrewsbury with a rental car. Had to pick up someone in Franklin and get to Boston to a doctor appointment. The rental car’s start button pushed into the dash and fell out of sight so there was no starting the car! I used up a lot of time trying to get another car, but it was Columbus Day weekend, so no other cars available. Called Red Cab. The woman dispatched a car before even taking my credit card info. The driver Jimmy picked me up in Shrewsbury in record time, drove to Franklin and skillfully maneuvered through the obstacle course caused by the torn-​up streets throughout the town. Back on the highway he dealt with the early stages of holiday traffic and got us to Boston just in time for the appointment. Thank you Red Cab!

Total dicks. I would give them negative seven if I could. Walk to the bar. It’s safer.

I have tried every cab company in the city and red cab is the only one that I will use from now on. Over the past few months that put some computer dispatch thing in that makes it fastest for my cab to arrive and the drivers told me they put new rules in place for them. No smoking in the cabs and they have to dress nice. They seem like they are trying to change the company in a new direction and I would recommend them to everyone.

Terrible service! I called for a cab and he hung up mid sentence when I asked what time I should expect them. I called right back and his response was «are you serious? When I say right away I mean right away, did you think I meant tomorrow?» I asked him to cancel as I’d rather use another company and his response was «please do– and take your stupidity with you». Incredibly unprofessional and unwarranted! Just wanted to be able to give my coworkers a heads up as to how late I would be due to car not starting.

Absolutely Horrible. Showing way too late, due to internal miscommunication, and absolutely not taking any responsibility for it. This company cost me a lot of money as we had to rearrange our trip due to their stunning non-​performance. When escalating this to the owner, who did not feel any responsibility, it became clear that this a low level company’s with no no sense at all for customer satisfaction.

Shit for service. Waited for an hour after calling and then I called again and I said I’ve been waiting here for an hour and then they said they arrived at the destination and they called me and I wasn’t there. I was waiting outside in the rain pretty sure if I would seen a cab driver after that they said there nothing I can do for you and then hung up.

Four reviews, with 13 hidden? Not weird at all…
I’ve had very hit or miss experiences with Red Cab. Sometimes they’re fast, sometimes slow. Some drivers good, some bad.
About 20% of the time they’re late. Yesterday I missed a train because calling 40 minutes ahead of time is apparently too late for them. I called 40 minutes before I needed to leave, then when I called 20 minutes later they said «they were trying to find a cab for me.» When they finally got one to me by time I got to the train station just after the train pulled away. I needed to sit there waiting an hour and a half for the next train, and be very late for my appointment in Boston. All I was doing was coming from the other end of Shrewsbury street, and with 40 minutes I probably could have just walked there and still made it on time.
I got burned a second time, and since then have gone entirely with Yellow Cab. While their drivers seem a bit less experienced, they actually pick you up, which is a nice thing for a cab company to do.

BEWARE! Listen to the other negative reviews! Do NOT rely on Red Cab. They do not show up on time! And when (NOT if) they cannot find your location they will blame you! They do not use GPS — my cabbie was using a paperback book with street names and paper maps trying to find my house — but the dispatcher will tell you their drivers use GPS!

Do not use this company, they’re extremely low class. Their dispatchers are rude and disrespectful, the cabs take forever to get to you if at all and the drivers don’t mind cursing you out. You’ll be much happier and get their faster with Yellow Cab.

I had a good experience with them for just a regular Saturday night out. I called them around 8 and the cab was at my apartment in about ten minutes. I called them again at the end of the night to take me home. This driver took the highway instead of the local routes the first driver took, so even though it was faster, the meter went up much higher. The driver realized this was happening, though, and shut the meter off a few minutes before the ride was over. I will use them again.

We booked this cab 2 days in advance to take us home from a wedding so we wouldn’t drive after drinking. They promised a fair rate and to arrive on time. My boyfriend even called an hour ahead of time to remind them and they claimed they’d be there. Then, 11:30 rolls around and they’re NO WHERE TO BE FOUND. We tried calling 10 times and NO ONE picked up. Absolutely ridiculous. We waited 40 minutes before being forced to beg a different cab that was there to drive us home.
THIS PLACE IS A COMPLETE SCAM. Don’t use them unless you want to be stranded.
