The Law Offices of James Wingfield is a full service law firm serving individuals, families and small business in Central and Western Massachusetts. At the Law Offices of James Wingfield our prime focus is in helping individuals, families, small-​businesses and non-​profit organizations in Central and Western Massachusetts with their legal needs. We concentrate on strategies for families and small businesses in times of financial crisis, such as those facing a home foreclosure, car repossession, creditor collection law suits and other creditor collection activity.

A large portion of our practice concentrates on representing clients in bankruptcy proceedings, including Chapter 7 bankruptcy (also known as liquidation) and Chapter 13 bankruptcy (also known as debt adjustment). The Law Offices of James Wingfield has years of experience in Bankruptcy. Prior to founding the Law Offices of James Wingfield, Attorney James A. Wingfield’s practice centered on representation of Chapter 7 bankruptcy trustees and commercial creditors. As a result, Mr. Wingfield brings unique insight to his representation of individuals, families and small-​businesses faced with the prospects of a bankruptcy filing and applies that insight to help his clients reach the most favorable result.

History

Established in 2009.

James Wingfield founded the firm in 2009 in order to focus his practice on the representation of individual and small business debtors. Prior to opening the doors at the Law Offices of James Wingfield, Mr. Wingfield focused his practice primarily on the representation of large and small commercial creditors in civil litigation and bankruptcy as well as representation of Chapter 7 trustees in bankruptcy.

James Wingfield graduated from Northeastern University School of Law with a Juris Doctor degree and the University of Massachusetts with a Bachelor of Arts degree.

Mr. Wingfield focuses his practice on bankruptcy, representing creditors, debtors and others involved in the bankruptcy process. Mr. Wingfield has represented several bankruptcy trustees, investors purchasing assets out of bankruptcy estates, consumer and business debtors in Chapters 7, 11 and 13 of the United States Bankruptcy Code. In addition, Mr. Wingfield has litigated numerous cases in the states courts in Massachusetts related to debt, on behalf of both plaintiffs and defendants. Mr. Wingfield also has experience representing both lenders and borrowers in commercial loan modifications.
