History
Established in 1982.
Griswold Home Care was first conceived in response to a tragedy that befell a member of the church where the Rev. Dr. Lincoln Griswold (our founder’s husband) was the pastor. An aging, widowed parishioner could not find anyone to help her after her primary caregiver fell and broke her hip. Although her family lived nearby, the woman was left alone and did not drink enough fluids. As a result, she passed away from kidney failure.
Inspired by this apparent growing need in her community, Jean Griswold started Griswold Home Care at her Erdenheim, PA home in 1982. As the company’s reputation for affordable respite, overnight, live-in care and companionship services grew, requests for care started to come from beyond the local community.
Meet the Manager
David K.
Manager
My name is David Kuhns and I’m the Director of Griswold Home Care of Worcester, Massachusetts. Watching my grandmother struggle with Alzheimer’s disease was very painful. It was even more painful to watch my mother and her four siblings share the burden of arranging in home care for her. With very little senior care knowledge, my aunts, uncles and mother would move my grandmother between their homes every few weeks, which only worsened her memory, thought patterns and behavior.
I joined the Griswold Home Care franchise family to offer a solution to families in similar situations. Together with my passionate staff I am committed toward making non-medical, in home care available to you and your loved ones — the type of affordable elder care that could have greatly benefited my grandmother with her degenerating disease. Offering companionship, homemaking and personal care, my team’s priority is your love ones.
