Clayground

Well, when I went I to this studio I was greeted by the lovely owner. She was busy helping a table of children, after greeting me and advising she’d be with me momentarily, then suggested I look around. I settled into a table, and looked around. I was then approached by Amy, the owner, she was extremely informative, friendly and very helpful. I enjoyed the selection and found many projects I liked. Upon deciding my project, I noticed other artful fun classes available in Friday evenings. Amy, was very thorough and helpful. Then a couple of college students arrived, makes and females, they had been before, you could tell they enjoyed themselves alot, as did the table of little ones. I found the pricing to be in line with other clay studios.
I’m shocked about the other reviews, as I’m very fussy and a stickler for professionalism!
A wonderful place for folks of all ages. I highly recommend The Clayground for an enjoyable respite to explore your artistic abilities. I am looking forward to my next project, and the Friday evening class.

Clean environment
Pieces were completed in a timely fashion.
Definitely not the best pottery place around. No studio fee does NOT save the customer, it is built into price.
I painted in December 2015. I have many reasons for not liking this studio, but they are largely based on my experience of other studios. I will keep this review nice, but will not be returning.

UPDATE… BACK TO GREAT! :)
Ok, so this shop has been sold once again… and it’s back to being all it once was. The new owner Aimee has freshened up the place from the last owner, and the space looks open and inviting. My son (now 8) really enjoyed his experience creating a Hanukkah bowl for his Nana and a mug for his Daddy… so much so that when we came to pick up our (beautiful) creations, we stayed to make an ornament for our Christmas tree. We’ll be back for sure :)

Truly disappointed with the service. Went for a birthday party today. The owner is miserable and has not been able to make a kid friendly environment. She was the talk of the party, not in a good way. We went last year. It was wonderful then, I don’t know what happened.

I was originally discouraged to go based on reviews. I recently went to ask some questions about how it works because I wasn’t sure. The owner was manning the store and she was nothing but kind to me. She went through the process and the prices and was super helpful. I bought a certificate and I look forward to going back with my sister and making something fun. :)

I like this place. I really do. There needs to be some ground rules though once you walk in. The proprietress needs to explain how her business works. Do I grab paints or do you? Do I use dry sponges or wet? I’m a pottery painting novie — help me out!
My kids and I created beautiful, one of a kind gifts for Father’s Day & Grandma birthdays. It was kinda pricey at $ 80 for 4 items ($ 5 fee per person) but better than buying tchotchkes at Walmart.
I’ll be back but I hope I get more assistance next time :)
