Great food! We always get the chicken family style. It is delicious! Wife and husband team that are friendly and always cordial.

Terrible food. FILTHY restaurant. Would definitely not recommend. Salad gritty,? Unwashed. Pasta overcooked and swimming in bowl of water. French fries greasy — cooked in oil that was to cold.

They’re amazing! I ordered some of their famous chicken soup for a friend and, in the spirit of Christmas, they refused to let me pay for it –who does that these days!!! Molto gratzie Bocce Club!

Food is sub-par and the owner is outright rude to both the customers and the staff. I like to frequent places where you feel appreciated and respected as a customer — this is not that place. And the not-so-great food isn’t enticing either. Suggestion: go to Village Haven, Wrights, Savinis or another restaurant instead.

Just went here for Easter. First thing when walking in was the smell of dust. The host took us to the room we were to be seated in and just pointed us to our table. No pleasantries either. We got our drinks & salad rather quickly but then we didn’t get our meal until we were there for 70 minutes! There was a small menu of under 10 entrees. Family style chicken is cooked in advance so I’m not sure what took soo long? Food was hot but in much need of salt & breast was dry. Salad was drowning in dressing. What really pissed me off was when I called to make reservations I asked how much the meal would be because it was Easter & the person on the phone assured me that it was $ 6.95 like very other Sunday & when we showed up it was not even the reg price of $ 8.95 but it was $ 10.95 because of Easter! I had a 10&12 year old with us and they didn’t even charge less for them! When I asked the waitress all she said was sorry & we were misinformed! Another thing was soda was $ 2 for 6oz of soda with a lot of ice and refills were $ 2 too! Unless I’m dying for dry tasteless chicken & unsalted potatoes & pasta, I won’t be returning!

So I finally visited the Bocce Club for their family style chicken. When I walked in the door on a Wed around 5:45pm I expected their to be more people but it was us and 4 senior citizens. It honestly had the feel of a funeral home and musty smell. Granted the place has been in business for over 50 years so take my first impression with a grain of salt but don’t expect much in terms of atmosphere. The décor has been somewhat updated and the furniture in one of the many function rooms looked new but overall what you see on the outside is what you see inside. As for the food, we were offered a menu but knew what we wanted. You have a choice of soup(chicken or onion) or salad, not both that comes with some french bread. We had the chicken soup which was homemade and very good, although per the age of this place both of our soup bowls had chips in the rims. As soon as we finished the waiter was quick to arrive with the chicken, pasta, roast potatoes and hand-cut french fries. A treat as very few places offers both versions of potatoes. The chicken was coated with dried rosemary and mostly crispy but also a little oily. The wings on the breast were so overcooked they were not edible but the rest of it was pretty good. The white meat was a little dry which was disappointing but it all fell right off the bones. The pasta served was ziti but the sauce might as well have been Prego or Ragu. Watered down and not very good. The potatoes though saved the meal. Both styles were fabulous. The roasted ones were well seasoned again with rosemary and the fries were homemade and not too crispy. A pleasant surprise was after we ate all that we could, we were asked if we’d like to take the rest of it home. That rarely happens when you order an all you can eat meal. Kudos to them for not just throwing it out. The next pleasant surprise was the price. The two meals plus a coke and tax came to $ 17.20. Now I don’t know if that was a Wed night special or if its like that all the time but thats a value that makes the Bocce Club far and away worth frequenting. Compared to other places the Bocce Club probably deserves better than the 3 stars I gave it but all things considered its what I thought they deserved: The Village Haven #1-most moist chicken, all you can eat soup AND salad, plus pasta and hand-cut fries. Plus, it has the best décor and a homey feel, unless its the weekend where it can get a little loud. The Pines #2-they have amazing chicken soup, moist chicken and also included with the meal homemade cinnamon rolls. The Bocce Club #2-for all the reasons above, price and potatoes in particular. Savinis #3-one of the only other places you’ll find both fries and roast potatoes. Wrights #4-banquet style tables and miniature shells for the pasta outweigh the excellent chicken and fries. Always feel crowded and rushed there plus its the most expensive.

The only disappointing part of my experience at the Bocce Club restaurant was my appetite. I should have fasted before coming so I could really eat a lot. This place is one of the best examples of bang-for-your-buck eating I can think of. Food is good, prices are low, and the amount of food they will give you is beyond generous. The chicken is tender and juicy. And, the courses they serve are straight up comfort food at its simplest. The primary reason my review is only the 3rd on Unilocal is because the large group of people that know about this place are probably still eating! This one has my stamp. Enjoy!

The food is good, but when they don’t have a party no air. It was very warm people were complaining.

Ok so I’ve been holding off from letting the secret out about this place, but here goes. Everyone knows the RI tradition of roasted chicken dinner served family style. Every local restaurant has there version. I’ve tried them all. Truth is none of them are bad. But some of them are rrrreeeeaaaallllll good. Then there is bocce club. It’s on a whole other level. The chicken is the best, juicy and cooked right the skin is crisp, seasoned. They do potato two ways hand cut fries which are great and roasted potatoes which may be the best thing I’ve ever tasted. I could eat a meal of them alone. And here’s the best part, the price. It’s the cheapest and the greatest. This place is truly a hidden jem. I think the style of the place is great too. You gotta search a little bit for it but its worth it. If you want a meal to remember let you search begin.

Get the Portuguese food! My friends and I frequent this place for a reason. Appetizers are great and served with bread and you could drink the sauces on teh shrimp Mozambique and the scallops St Peter. The service is friendly, and not rushing you. You don’t come here for a quick meal, you hand around for a few hours and indulge. The Portuguese entrees are great, Carne de porco is awesome, and the Portuguese steak is a personal favorite. Don’t just go here for the chicken, get the authentic Portuguese!

Not much to look at and but this place hold a bit of nostalgia from my childhood. A few weekends out of the year my family would pile in to the car and make the trip out from MetroWest Massachusetts to Woonsocket, RI for a family-style Italian dinner. Although the clientele is mostly blue-haired seniors a couple families like mine snuck in from time to time. Dinner would consist of zitti, house salad, roasted chicken and home made fries(the best I’ve ever had) all for a good price. The dining area where we usually had our meals in had no windows and lower ceilings than most places I’ve eaten. So, if you’re tall you might have to duck a bit when walking in, I could be wrong. Low lighting sets the mood and gives you and intimate dining experience. The lounge consists of a bar and plenty of seating around round tables with chairs that have the leather upholstery riveted into the wood for that classy feel. Keep an eye out for a huge cheese wheel that sits at the corner of the bar(it may or may not still be there). I never remembering having a bad meal at the Bocce Club and always left holding my stomach with joy. If you’re looking for family-style Italian dining with old style décor this the place for you. Don’t let the location throw you off, it’s right off of Route 114 on a side street. If nothing has changed it’s still the same brown wood and white stucco building I remember. I think I’m due for another visit, I’ll be sure to get some pictures.
