The brownie had a rich chocolate flavor, but a rough texture. The cupcake had very little flavor at all, although it was moist. The caramel in the middle was grainy. Lovely small shop, you want her to succeed.

You’re OPEN sign is lit up but your doors are closed(locked– its 10:15 am Sunday night to be exact). Three of you standing inside looking at me like I’m stupid. This is not the first time I showed up at your door after checking your hours of operation that you’re supposed to be opened. I love supporting local businesses but please get your hours consistent.

Sugar Circle has some very good cupcakes! My fiancé and I tried a few one afternoon on the square and they make the list of my top 3 cupcake places! I also LOVE the cinnamon rolls offered on Sunday mornings– we’ve had them a few times now. I’d eat them all the time if I didn’t care about fitting into my pants.

Your specified hours are different everywhere! For today(saturday) Unilocal says you’re open until 9pm. When you call, saturday hours are until 6. Then when myself and others also walked by to check you out at 3:45pm today, you were empty and closed. Seriously fix your hours.

This shop is the reason I love small towns like Woodstock. It’s cute inside, family-run, handmade, it’s special, it’s sweet! They make cakes, cupcakes, brownies and even cinnamon rolls. Enjoy stopping in for a quick goody. Prices are reasonable. The staff is very friendly and welcoming.

Love this place! My husband and I occasionally stop in on a Saturday for a little dessert for after dinner. The cupcakes are AMAZEBALLS! My favorite is the chocolate salted caramel, and my husband’s is the cookie dough. The Rumchata is my second favorite. Lauren, owner, can customize orders of cupcakes and cakes for your special occasions. I have ordered several dozen of cupcakes for work and personal functions. The cinnamon rolls are huge and delicious! Great addition to the Woodstock Square!

This place is hitting it out of the park. They seem to have a steady line every time we go by and the quality stays top notch. Its really turned into a family business– and it appears that everyone is involved. Its great to see the success of this place. Really nice people, really great cupcakes and cakes. A very nice addition to the square.

The cupcakes are attractive, delicious and reasonably priced. The service is friendly and pleasant. It’s a great location just steps from the lovely, shop-filled Woodstock Square and the newly remodeled and expanded movie theater. Fun place to grab a treat after lunch or dinner at one of the nearby restaurants. Not a chain, this is a delightful and unique small business.

Cupcake radar? Yeah, I’ve got that. Even in my search for healthy & yummy veggie meals(Leslie Expressly), I manage to trip over a brand new bakery. And in all honesty, I first sought cupcakes that day at Sugar Buzz in McHenry, decided to postpone my trip there til later in the day so I could try out Leslie’s as it was way past lunch, had said healthy lunch, explored the Farmers Market, Woodstock Square, and its Groundhog Day movie sites– and then ran smack dab into the Sugar Circle. So I guess it’s not entirely accurate to say«my search for healthy & yummy veggie meals» when it was clearly all about cupcakes! And do you believe I had the nerve to see the bakery, and then continue to walk by without going in?! Then I checked myself and literally said(to myself), «WHOARE you? You know you need to go in.» Lol Very glad I did. I was greeted immediately by the charming young owner, Lauren, who informed me they had been open a mere two weeks and that they offer all sorts of custom cakes, in addition to the few items I could see in the single small case, containing cupcakes, fudge and brownies. There were less than a dozen cupcakes in the case but Lauren did mention how she had more coming out. I chose 3 cupcakes(chocolate covered cherry, strawberry lemon, and Rumchata) to take with me. I haven’t tried the choc/cherry one yet, but my hubby and I tried the other 2 today and they were both yummy. I wouldn’t say the flavors were strong, but more subtle. The buttercream frosting is the whipped oh so light and airy type I prefer, and the cake was light, delicate and baked perfectly– not underdone, not dried out. The lemon cake was present but not overwhelming. Of the two, the Rumchata probably packed a stronger punch, but both were delicious. Really can’t wait to try the chocolate later today! For this deliciousness of 3 cupcakes, I paid a measly $ 5.62, quite a bargain compared to average cupcake prices. There were no tables or chairs in the bakery, but you could easily enjoy your sweets while window shopping or at the park square benches. Unless you are seeking out a custom cake, I wouldn’t necessarily go out of my way to indulge at the Sugar Circle as it is somewhat remote and there may not be a large amount of readily available desserts all the time– not everyone is as fortunate as me to have that cupcake radar, you see. BUT, if you are relatively near the area, I would for sure. And I WOULD drive out of my way to visit the shops or farmers market here, get some lunch and yummy cupcakes, and explore the area. Good luck, Lauren! This is a great addition to the adorable Woodstock Square area, just what it needs.
