Woodside Pet Hospital

I went here because Astoria vet group was fully booked. Service was fine and the place was clean. The exam room smelled like poop but the vet assistant remarked on it and opened a door indicating that it wasn’t a regular occurrence. The price was surprisingly much more than Astoria for the same issue (ear infection). They might have upsold me on some unnecessary services and I remarked on the high price but my dog’s health comes first so I didn’t question them too much. I’ll go back to Astoria.

My fur-​baby had been suffering with a UTI infection that north shore couldn’t diagnose. I had been bringing her three for 3 visits when I gave up and decided to try a new place that was much closer to home. I passed by this place and they were really great. They immediately gave me an appointment and immediately diagnosed her on the spot. Within 2 days my baby was back to her usual jumpy self. The service was great and the vet was very honest and helpful.

I visited this vet in need of a health cert for travel purposes for a cat that was a new member of my family. The vet and all staff was extremely helpful and friendly. I am in the process of moving, otherwise I would definitely use this vet as the primary care professional for my cat. Additionally, their pricing for services was very reasonable.

Most reasonable prices I’ve seen in New York. I’ve been taking my cat here for the past year. They really care about her and even call to check in on her sometimes.

I called to schedule an appointment for my dog to get a rabies shot, microchip, and certificate of health for international travel. The receptionist told me they sedate for microchipping (which is totally unnecessary) and that the exam, chip, shot, and certificate would cost nearly $ 400. She also didn’t have the forms I would need for the certificate and didn’t even try to help with those.
I then called Astoria Veterinary Group and the receptionist was much more knowledgeable and helpful, and the quotes she gave me were about half of what Woodside quoted.

The doctor and staff are friendly and helpful. Cost for services is reasonable. They took care of my dog and I was very pleased. Jody at front desk was beyond attentive and handled my dog in a very caring manner.

I have been coming to woodside pet hospital for years now have been bringing my dog here since he was 2 months old he is now 16 years old !!
Though out the years I have brought my dog here on several occasions for basic check ups, vaccines, pet boarding & grooming.
My dog even had surgery here a few years back as well as the neutering.
The facility itself is not very big but big enough for the pets, small sitting area outside as far as I’ve noticed has always been clean.
Friendly staff & doctors that care, prices have always varied at least with me through out the years but I’ve always found them to be reasonable.
Woodside pet hospital is a one stop shop prices are reasonable & they have great convenient hours including hours on Saturdays.
For as long I have been bringing my dog here I have never had any issues. This place is cool.

I had the same problem. We were supposed to be called to get test result for my cat with diarrhea, and nothing. We called two days later and they said that they still hadn’t gotten the results. And then I called later that day, and they said that they just got them.
The doctor was very knowledgeable and professional, no complaints on that front.

The Short Version: Friendly, CLEAN, THOROUGH, Not money hungry!
The long version:
I’ve been here 2x. 1x for my dogs dental scaling and tooth extraction and the 2^nd for my cats inflamed eye. The first time around Dr Zamana was thorough, really nice and had no problem answering any and every question I had. He too, asked me many Q’s. My nervous pup seemed chilled out and happy afterward. I mean, he def needed his tooth pulled and gums scraped so obviously he would feel better, but I could tell he didn’t have a bad experience.
The 2^nd time was today. I came home to find my kitty exhausted with a cloudy eye. They had no problem making a last minute appointment and there wasn’t a wait when I arrived. I had taken my cat 3 weeks ago to an emergency visit to a vet close by my place for quickness and convenience but after this great experience I regret not bringing her to Woodside pet hospital.
In this exam he explained everything about the different blood work, he asked questions and at the end if the exam suggested the cheapest service which didn’t even include blood work however we went with the more thorough blood work to be safe. He examined my kittys eyes with these neon eyedrops. He didnt see anything but gave her a few minutes to chill out and then REEXAMINED her again. Can anybody say THOROUGH! I was soo happy with the service and Dr Zamanas professionalism and good spirit. He is full of knowledge and eager to help! I’de recommend this vet and Dr Zamana specifically but Ide also be happy to give any other vet that practices there a try.
I’ll end by saying I worked as a vet assistant a while and I’ve seen the ins and outs of the business side of vets as well as the care side and unfortunately now a days its hard to find a vet that isnt money hungry or one that takes advantage of you when your vulnerable. Ive seen this a bunch and have also lived it. Thankfully there are good vet establishments out there and Woodside Pet Hospital is DEF one of em!

The young man there is very helpful and called me to keep me updated all the time. Great grooming job and the vet took the time to look at my pet tornado and prescribe me some medication. I am very happy with the vet and staff. Great Place very helpful and caring. I recommended this animal hospital for all your pets needs.

The staff and Veterinarian are so nice. I have a nervous dog and every time I bring him for a visit they are very warm with him and pet him to calm him down during the visit.

Overall, a great pet clinic. Left very happy.
I took my two-​and-​a-​half month old puppy here to get vaccinated and have a check-​up.
My girlfriend and I waited about 10 minutes for the doctor to call us in. After thoroughly checking her, he discovered my dog had a slight ear infection and treated her. He also suggested that we give her boosters, but was not persistent about it and did not try to force extra things on us to pay for – something you don’t see too often among veterinarians.
Before the day of our appointment, the receptionist called my house and confirmed our appointment.
Dr. Zemana and the rest of the staff are very professional, and proved that they are not trying to dig a hole into your wallet, but seek to take care of your pet.

I am currently caring for a sick rabbit, and I have to say that this vet is wonderful. I came in with an emergency and they were able to see my rabbit within a few minutes. The vet explained everything to us and offered as much help and care as possible. I even got a phone call back on a Sunday after I was trying to get in touch with them a few hours earlier. Great vet and staff, and I would highly recommend!

They said they would call the next day to explain test results. They didn’t.
Next day I call in morning to ask for test results. They said they will call before 1pm. They didn’t.
I call at 5pm and finally they say they just got the test results. It took another call to finally get the vet to speak with me. The vet here was very articulate and helpful about test results and procedures. (4 stars for the vet).
Next day, I asked to get a fax of test results a second time and the receptionist gave me an attitude «I already sent it !». When he realized it was to another fax number he said OK and just hung up!
OVERALL — Good vet here. But terrible service. Price-​orientated business.
Also, if you have cat allergies, beware, there are 2 friendly cats in the lobby.

Dr. Voltaire Zemana is the vet for my Labdrador. He’s been working at this location for the longest time but recently bought the practice from the previous owner and changed the name. Service is great and Dr. Zemana explains everything so you can better understand what’s going on.
