I’ve known Dr. Wohlford since I was probably 13 or so, he was the vet of many horses I’ve leased over the years. When I bought my own horse 6.5 years ago, Larry did her prepurchase exam and has been her vet ever since. I like Dr. Wohlford as a person, of course, but he also has years of field experience and a great sense of what one’s options might be in any situation. One of the many reasons I respect Dr. Wohlford so much is the fact that yes, he has all the bells and whistles, and keeps up with the latest and greatest veterinary technology. But he adds the new knowledge into his«bag of tricks» instead of forgetting about what has worked for years, like simple pasture rest or handwalking every day. Of course there are great medical/veterinary advances that can be excellent options, but he doesn’t forget about the basics.
